oooggs · 17/01/2008 20:44

maveta - I have just added you to my friends - just waiting your approval

oooggs · 17/01/2008 20:45

it must be pinions - I'm still here

Maveta · 17/01/2008 20:46

that should have been blue murder. getting overexcited tonight, must watch my language, apologies!

and to miss the carpet. Not even it.

Sorry, please resume.

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:49

Ok if permission is granted .......

Lots of bangs here too, erm, advice look out for anything unusual and if you are concerned perhaps go to the doctors. It is a worry, and apparently boys are a lot more prone to bumps than girls. Just what you wanted to hear I'm sure!

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:50

And at least you don't have stairs to contend with, am I right ???

Maveta · 17/01/2008 20:50

not what I want to hear but what I expected! lol

can someone try to watch that vid again? I had it set as private not sure if I have to redo the link or if it will automatically work..

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:53

Hmm vid not sure on that one, will let someone else deal with that one .

Someone ??!

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:56

THIS made me laugh on the MN round-up email thing. Thank goodness there is light at the end of the tunnel ( 4 year olds behaviour!!).

"He may sometimes be defiant and at least one in 10 children this age will have one or more tantrums a day. But he will also discover an emotion that will stand him in good stead for parenting - guilt. After a hefty screaming fit in the middle of the supermarket you may be pleased to know he'll feel guilty for upsetting you and ashamed."

mammyjo · 17/01/2008 20:56

Maveta, I just tried to watch it and it said it was not available. Good hair though!

Pinions, I agree, MN is defintely constructive

mammyjo · 17/01/2008 20:59

Oh, good to know they feel ashamed too!!!!! I was very lucky with ds actually, never really did the whole temper tantrum thing. Waiting for it with F though, she is a lot more feisty than him already! Is it a girl thing?

justpinions · 17/01/2008 21:01

HURRAH

Unanimous agreement then.

MN is constructive !!!!!

And on that note.........am going for more painkillers.

Loved the round up - nice chatting all be it briefly hope all other ladies are dandy too. Will be back to moan about work soon I'm sure.

mammyjo · 17/01/2008 21:03

Take care pinions See you soon xx

Idreamofchocolate · 17/01/2008 21:07

I want to see Maveta's hair [stamps feet]

Pesha · 17/01/2008 21:09

Ok have just read alot so sorry if I forget anything!

Maveta - no advice other than to keep a watch on him. DD and ds1 both had big bumps, banged heads etc and all fine. Ds2 earlier in the week got hold of the laptop wire and pulled it from the (thankfully low) table onto his nose [wince] Must have hurt like hell and he did cry and did that long cry where they dont take a breath for ages but actually calmed down fairly quickly with lots of mummy and daddy cuddles. Just has a little red mark on his nose

Have to say I am breaking the April mould and D has no extra cereal or anything before bed just breast milk and seems to be sleeping for 10+ hours a night straight through. We do tea anytime between 5 and 6 although he does seem to get hungry before that so dp normally sticks him in the highchair with some sort of finger food thing to munch on while I'm cooking.

Pinions - you make even my posts look short! Hope you're not feeling too sore. and about work wan#ers.

OK forgotten the rest now!

Bloody Pinions showing me up with her note taking

cazboldy · 17/01/2008 21:16

molly only has booby too pesha, and she usually sleeps from 8 until 7

caz ducks and runs.........

oooggs · 17/01/2008 21:16

Erin goes 6.30pm - 4.30am then after a quick feed she goes back again til 7-8am.

Jack is the little bugger (&James isn't much better)

oooggs · 17/01/2008 21:16

maveta your hair looks great

hotlipsmummy · 17/01/2008 21:22

Pillock's and Pinions' summaries were very useful for part-timers like me! Good to hear that most of us are cheerful most of the time

Sorry to hear a few have work woes - I'm not back yet myself and am planning to take the full 12 months which would mean going back on 7 April. Seems like ages but actually only 2.5 months . When I went back after DS1 he went to daycare nursery (btw totally at the ratios in Spain too). This time that's not practical as he is now at nursery school 3 mornings a week and will need collecting. So it's more cost effective to get a nanny to look after both of them. can't imagine a young (compared to me!) girl looking after them unsupervised in my home though, and having big second thoughts etc). I just need to get some activities planned for A on the mornings when DS1 is at nursery. So far toddler watching is his favourite activity!!

Maveta - plenty of bumps here on our stone kitchen floor. Seems to have been ok... is a worry though but I think they are quite tough really (fingers crossed!)

A has been a delightful baby and actually makes me broody for another - at 9 weeks he started sleeping from 11pm til 7am ish and he dropped the 11pm feed when we started weaning. And I b'fed him, no formula! He really has been an angel and we are very lucky! Nonetheless DH says absolutely NO WAY to a 3rd baby

leakyR · 17/01/2008 21:27

Evening all

Got awful IBS attack tonight, feel crampy and bowel keeps spasming (Niiiice after-dinner chat for you all) Is it a coincidence that I've had another crappy, nothing works, on my feet for 7 hours at work, my baby woke every 1.5 hrs last night, day today? It's been fine for the last 18 bloody months! Pregnancy seemed to help and obviously being at home suited me too. Rant over.

Pinions - that you could be pg again, but have to confess we'll be trying for number 2 once the move is over. Hope your pain is better tomorrow.

Maveta - your dh's family sound a bit selfish. Can't they see it's harder for him to help out? Also think 1:8 sounds high for nursery ratio. It's good you've got your mum close by to help out.

GMM - DEBRA is a great charity to run for My DH has done the Great North Run 7 times and the London Marathon (mad emoticom). He's going to do the GNR for St Oswald's hospice; the place where my bf spent her final weeks last March/April.

G also cruising round furniture, into everything, wanting to stand all the time and falling over a lot. He had a marvellous bruise on his forehead for starting nursery last week. Need to get him a crash helmet. Don't want to discourage his natural curiosity/ need to try things out but wish he was a bit tamer.

Ok brain melted so am going to say goodnight

Pesha · 17/01/2008 21:29

OMg Maveta - that video is toooo cute!! Am literally pmsl well no I'm not thank god but I am literally loling!! Cant believe how excited he was by the pressie although the look he gave the shoes is classic - definitely a boy!!

I have noticed that with boys - dd used to be more than happy to go shoppping with me as a baby/toddler. DSs 1 & 2 both NOT impressed And on the phone - dd as a toddler would natter away for ages on a toy phone and have long chats with grandma or auntie B or whoever else she felt like talking to. Toddler Ds1 on the phone - "hello...yeah...bye"

leakyR · 17/01/2008 21:32

Oh by the way hello HLM! Nice to see you again.
Last post took ages to type as dh was prattling on about work. Lalala I can't hear you He got the message and went to bed think I might have to head that way myself.

Goodnight (again)

elkiedee · 17/01/2008 21:35

Nice to meet you hlm, I think I only returned to posting on the thread after you'd disappeared into lurkdom.

Maveta, I'm shocked at the ratios too, that's probably not very helpful is it?

D has food some time between 5 and 6 atm, and a bottle around 7 pm. Sleeping patterns very variable. Last night though it took me over 2 hours to settle him at 8.50 pm, and he did stir, apparently he was all set to get up at 6 am but fell asleep again until 8.30 am - astonishing!

I went to a baby group I've only recently discovered for the second time today - the one where the worker who was 6 months pregnant had a scary looking fall in December. She's fine now, and is planning to try and carry on until the end of February before her ml. If she manages it she'll go off about the time I go back to work.

Another of my baby group friends is expecting another already, hopefully.

Idreamofchocolate · 17/01/2008 21:35
