Pesha · 16/01/2008 21:48

lol at you on the mners royalty thread!!

NorthernLurker · 16/01/2008 22:05

Evening all

Love the summary POTC!

Right - have made notes as not been on-line all day

Octo - sorry about the job - at least you can treat this as a practice run.

Runny - hope you can get the dishwasher fixed!

SPB - some days and nights are just rubbish aren't they? With dd1 I tended just to go out for a long walk if she was grumpy (taking her too of course ) But it's a bit harder to do that with more than 1.

Pesha - great to hear about N and school - well done that lad - and mum of course!

We have some word like things here - hiya and dada - also sort of words for me, and the other girls. I'm sure I heard her say 'oh dear' a few days ago as well - but that might be wishful thinking

Hello everyone else!

Octothechildherder · 16/01/2008 22:08

we have dada but thats it - maybe should listen a bit more! Sometimes he sounds like he says 'i love you' - even the boys think he does!

Octothechildherder · 16/01/2008 22:17

I have just found an mn'er who was at the same party as me on saturday with ds2

PillockOfTheCommunity · 16/01/2008 22:20

just saw that octo - have warned her to run fast

OP posts:
liath · 16/01/2008 22:26

Great summary POTC .

Pants about the job, Octo.

Ds isn't talking. Just as well really as if dd is anything to go by it's probably just be swear words. A recent conversation at my sister's house went thus:

Dd - I'm going to bugger off the cat, Mummy.

Me - I beg your pardon?

Dd - I'M GOING TO BUGGER OFF THE CAT MUMMY!

Me -

Dd - Bugger off cat!!

Cat -

I must stop using foul language.

NorthernLurker · 16/01/2008 22:30

liath - I've laughed so much at your post that i nearly choked on my toast!

Octothechildherder · 16/01/2008 22:34

liath very funny

PillockOfTheCommunity · 16/01/2008 22:43

ROFFLE at that Liath
you must have been so proud of her excellent language skills

OP posts:
Pesha · 16/01/2008 23:53

PMSL Liath

We've had hiya for a while but more just him copying a sound iyswim, this was using at as a word! Also mumum and dada being used as words now rather than sounds. Mumum normally with whining when hes hungry!

No cruising, just starting to get up on hands and knees but mostly commando crawling (and by that I mean like the commando crawling action man, NOT with no pants on! ) and sitting only very briefly before he flings himself on the floor so he can actually get somewhere, sitting is soo boring!! He is loving standing atm but only with me holding his hands, he cant hold on on his own and stand. Is starting to seem much more keen to get moving now though and very fidgety Oh and he loves clapping and he does the sound effects with his tongue as he does it!

Anyway enough of my bored waffling, I really should go to bed.

elkiedee · 17/01/2008 00:02

Very funny story Liath

It took me ages to get D to sleep (nearly 9 pm) and he's threatening to wake up again. I don't think me being sick for the first time since he was born helped - and no, I'm quite sure I'm not pregnant again.

I really should go to bed. See you all in the morning.

elkiedee · 17/01/2008 00:05

No Maveta and SOL, I don't believe N and K are dunces. I'm sure they'll find ways of getting around soon enough and then you'll wish they hadn't.

Maveta · 17/01/2008 07:23

hahaha love the round up. especially the
NEED TO PROGRESS THIS re. the may meet up lol
Any chance you have lots of experience minuting meetings ellie?

Lol at your story liath

thank you leaky for your comment re. my hair. bit shorter than i expected but i like it, luckily!

Runny - of course you love your job now you´re leaving. It´s because you know it has a limited time on it.

Sorry about the job Octo, think I forgot to say that yesterday. Glad you got good feedback though I know that´s not much consolation.

Sorry you are feeling a bit unwell Elkie, hope you feel better soon.

Had a great great GREAT night. He went down with little fuss (maybe 10mins of intermittant shushing) at about 8pm, woke at 11pm but I just sat next to his cot and shushed him and within 10mins he was fast asleep again and then he didn´t wake til 4am! brought him to bed to feed but put him straight back in his cot after and then he slept til 7.15! and no calpol or medised!

Not sure what changed, might have been the tooth so hopefully we will have at least a few days respite before another tooth comes through but I think the shushing instead of picking up at 11pm helped (thanks pesha!) everything crossed for a repeat tonight. Went to bed at 9pm yesterday I was so knackered so feel really great now. What a difference a good sleep makes.

StealthPolarBear · 17/01/2008 08:37

love the round up!
Maveta, was going to ask about your night, glad to hear it was much better

NorthernLurker · 17/01/2008 08:44

Well done with the night Maveta!
Can't believe I forgot to say yesterday but we had an awful time with B on Tuesday night - she woke at 1.15 and I couldn't get her back down - in her cot or with me. Finally at 2.30, feeling desperate, I took her downstairs and strapped her in her pram (reclined position of course ) She yelled for less than five minutes, went to sleep and had to be woken at 7.45! So last night I put the travel cot up ready and she woke at 2.30 - had a brief cuddle and took her down to it. By the time I had been back upstairs for the monitor - she had settled and was asleep! So maybe this is the way to go for us - I'm sort of hoping she'll get used to sleeping through and be able to do so in her cot though!
I want to move!

NorthernLurker · 17/01/2008 09:05

Post from Eddas on the old thread this morning:

Morning

The only thing I can remember from all the posts is that octo didn't get the job I'm sure something is out there waiting for you. Fingers crossed you and CD get something asap

Thank goodness work is over(well apart from the bits I need to do from home) It's exhaustng all the carting about I have to do. Ridiculous. Oh well I guess it's only for a year and then it'll change again once dd is at school. Not sure what'll happen then TBH.

Positive thoughts for ds to sleep whilst dd is at preschool please He has doen the last 3 mornings but because I have plans to tidy the house I just know he'll not want to sleep!

Eddas · 17/01/2008 09:47

thanks NL, missed the link somehow did wonder what'd happened as no-one had posted for far too long for us chatterboxes

Will read this thread in a bit, once ds is asleep[fingers crossed]

Eddas · 17/01/2008 10:02

ROFL liath, sounds like something dd would say

Did I tell you al lshe's once came down the stairs with her angry face on, when asked what was wrong, 'these bloody stickers won't stick' had me and dh in fits of laughter but was so so funny

I have done the buggy snuggle btw. Looks FAB Not brave enough to let sil use it yet though It needs some ties or something at the top first. Maybe monday

NorthernLurker · 17/01/2008 10:05

pictures please eddas!

Eddas · 17/01/2008 10:24

StealthPolarBear · 17/01/2008 10:30

NorthernLurker · 17/01/2008 10:30

Oh wow that is very impressive - well done!!
Love the dcs pics as well - bath shots are always so cute!

Eddas · 17/01/2008 10:35

Thanks!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 17/01/2008 10:56

Excellent news on the sleep Maveta
Joe slept from before 8 until 06:24
(I think the large bowl of weetabix mixed with milky porridge before bed may have helped )

OP posts:
PillockOfTheCommunity · 17/01/2008 10:58

and yes, it is really that obvious I type meeting minutes for a living?
