Grrrrr indeed Maveta

Just popping in to say hi, need to go prepare Joe's meals for tomorrow as he's with the Childminder.

Nursery ratios here are 1 adult for every 3 children under 2 yrs old Maveta and tbh I'm at the Spanish way of doing things

OP posts:
oooggs · 17/01/2008 19:16

1:3 here in dts nursery for their age

hotlipsmummy · 17/01/2008 19:40

Good evening everyone! You probably don't remember but I posted a few times on the April 07 ante-natal thread and have been lurking on this thread for a few days. Now feel i ought to post really!!

I have to say whilst I have mummy friends with DS1 (now 2.7) many of whom have had 2nd DCs we are more focused on the toddlers when we see each other. It would be nice to chat about the babies once in a while!

I hope you are all enjoying the little angels . And the daily ups and downs of dealing with their every need! DS2 is on the move and pulling up on everything - esp in the bath! And the door of sibling arguments is just beginning to open. Not from DS2 of course, just DS1 is on a steep learning curve about sharing, moving his jigsaws out the way, not stealing toys, patience etc etc, That said they are adorably sweet and caring towards each other.

Sorry not to do personals, am still catching up on who's still around, who had which baby etc. But I hope to be able to post a bit more frequently than every 9 months

oooggs · 17/01/2008 19:50

glad you popped by hotlipsmummy you may find this useful as it shows all the stats of the April (March & May) babies

hotlipsmummy · 17/01/2008 20:02

Thanks for that Oooggs, very helpful! Just to update my entry, DS2 is called Austen. I think a few like have fallen behind in their MNing!

Pesha · 17/01/2008 20:06

Great to see you again hotlipsmummy, course we remember you!! Well I do anyway and if I do then pretty sure everyone else will cos I'm normally hopeless!

Maveta - I would be too. And also at 8:1 ratio. Love the hair btw, really suits you But the video you sent apparently is no longer available

I have added a couple new pics of Dylan to my profile if anyones interested!

oooggs · 17/01/2008 20:07

pesha that painting is fantastic!!!!!!

maveta - haven't mentioned your hair as I haven't been on facebook to look yet

Maveta · 17/01/2008 20:16

hi hotlipsmummy! welcome back, hope you´ll stick around for some gossiping/moaning/general shootin´-the-breeze

ooggs - lol don´t worry, you aren´t missing too much at all!

Pesha - love your photos, hadn´t seen any of them actually and that painting is pretty fabulous! I am v. v. impressed. gold star for you, young lady.

Pillock - yes I am increasingly and at that ratio and not sure what to do. Look around lots I guess in the hope that I find a small nursery that isn´t looking to fill to capacity? The one I saw today is new so they actually only have e.g. 3 babies, which is grand. But obviously the aim is to fill the places so that could change at any time. And after 1 year it is 13 kids to 1 adult. Don´t, I could cry. But then, if everywhere does it, the obviously manage. right? right?!

Aargh.

Maveta · 17/01/2008 20:20

meant to say SPB- Noah can be clingy but when he is I tend to throw him in the ring sling and try to carry on as best I can. Luckily on the whole I can distract him pretty quickly. That or just switch my brain off and do whatever it is he´s demanding of me. Mostly that would be holding his hands while he stands up and looks proudly around to check that the armchairs, sofa and shelves, and cats, are appreciating his genius

Pesha - I know, v. weird about that video, everyone is saying the same. But I can see it so I don´t understand will try uploading it again. how exciting. bet you can´t wait

oooggs · 17/01/2008 20:21

maveta I have no idea who you are on fb help me

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:26

Well the labour is now "complete" .

Phew, that was hard hard work. Am still a bit sore but well on the way to recovery.

Erm.....am gonna attempt a fairly large catch up post so here goes. And in no particular order. Just call me Kate Thornton.

Fabulose summary of the news and goss as ever Ellie, where would we be eh?? Here are a few personal funnies, for me anyway.

Oh and before I digress I need to let you all know that I have had an operation today. Nothing too drastic but had a few baddie moles sliced away - hope you're not still eating. And it bloody well hurt. And yes I am fine.

Ok so:

Maveta's and other non-sleeping babies. Have said this before and will say it again I am a great believer that the amount of SLEEP is directly in proportion to the amount of FOOD you can somehow get into them (imho). No insinuations, but at least porridge before bed. And once they start to have formula as well as/instead of breastmilk they usually sleep better too. Of course all babies differ, but it certainly worked for us . And the old medised trick when all else fails. Who said that??!
I know it's crappy when they don't sleep, it does get better .

And had a small chuckle when i read about MIL. You are beginning to sound like a real old mum now .

SPB To make breadcrumbs. Make toast. Put in blender and whizz. Hey presto. Tho you may already know this . PS Kiev thing recipe when you have a minute please and the cheesy things too [hmm???

Pesha has a mystery bleep. Lordy lord .

Dippy Dippy loves her Dyson. and lol Dippy and Eddas are going to meet - love the way that's written. Da da daaaaaaaaaaa

Next title thread. Pesha has a mystery bleep and Dippy loves her Dyson !!

Leaky. Fantastic news about the house . More about the new job for reasons that I am sure you are familiar with .

Errr my brother (a different one) has written a book which is very controversial () but too much even to post on here, if anyone's remotely interested can email a link. He has been book signing in Waterstones London, and next month is flying to America - I kid you not .

Golly.............

Eddas Bloody stickers pmsl. Gawd knows why L is not swearing yet. How inconsiderate .

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:27

Well I never do things by halves .

!!!!!!

mammyjo · 17/01/2008 20:30

Evening! Have only just managed to catch up as havent been on since Tuesday. Worked yesterday and am working tomorrow too. Not happy as work is destroying my MN time

Maveta, I too am at the ratios, but I guess they must manage as that is the way it has been for a long time presumably. I would not want a job there though! Hope you manage an easier solution for dh and his mum. I havent looked on facebook yet either, but need to now as I need to look at the do!

Runny, hope you are doing ok with dh away xx

Octo, sorry to hear about the job. Hoping that something even better will come along soon

Pinions, what is the news about you then? Have I missed something (quite possible)

Hotlips, welcome back! I remember you, glad you are ok

Ellie, thanks for the review. Didnt quite expect to read my shit comment at the end though! It sounded as bad then as it did originally

mammyjo · 17/01/2008 20:31

X posted with pinions!

oooggs · 17/01/2008 20:31

mj - hope you are well

pinions - what a post

I really should do something constructive!!!

mammyjo · 17/01/2008 20:35

Wow, that was a mammoth post pinions! Glad you are ok after your op today though. Several people seem to be having trouble with work on here, as if we dont all have enough to cope with already.

Maveta · 17/01/2008 20:36

jeez louise pinions what a post!!! Glad your op went well and that you are obviously fine. Pain in the arse about work

I do give N porridge before bed and it was working bloody wonders but he´s just cut 2 teeth and that seems to have been the source of our sleep disruption. oh no, i´ve just heard him stir. he must have smelt my optimism must stop typing about it now just in case his baby radar hones in further.

i am not kidding.

ooggs - don´t be I´ve just realised I don´t know who you are either! lol. how can I id myself to you?

mammyjo · 17/01/2008 20:36

Hi ooggs, I am doing ok actually. Things definitely better so putting it down to the meds. Hope you are ok too

Maveta · 17/01/2008 20:37

mammyjo I don´t think I said at the time but really, you seem so about your comment and yet it was and is really really funny

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:38

Hiya mammy, ooggs .

I know it's crappyioso. As if we don't have enough on, that's how I feel too. An absolute bag of crap.

phdlifeneedsanewlife · 17/01/2008 20:38

hello April 07ers, just popping in to say hiya!

my congratulations to Pillock on the lovely succinct summary for those of us too lazy busy to read the whole thread

GCSE pulled himself up to standing in his cot today, I am so proud I could bust. Lucky we lowered the mattress last night eh?!

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:41

Gawd was it that bad??!! !!

If N's teething Maveta then we'll let you off .

cazboldy · 17/01/2008 20:42

thanks for your help ladies.....I think I will have a chat with her, but definitely do not want to go into a school. I kind of thought that already, but justr wondered what you thought/what you would do.

Maveta · 17/01/2008 20:43

totally forgot to say. N fell and hit his head yesterday, he was standing at his activity table and I was sitting in that ´catch´ position and he just slide to the side out of my reach and hit his head full tilt on the stone floor!! Oooowww! wish there was a [wince] emoticon. How he managed to even the carpet and just land with his head on the stone I guess is one of those sod´s law things. Anyway. So of course he screamed bloody murder and I panicked but there was no blood, no swelling, I fed him and he calmed down and that was that. Kept an eye on him but no acting weird/drowsy/ vomiting etc.

Except this evening when he started getting sleepy, he kept putting his hand up to touch exactly where he hit his head, repeatedly. I felt it but still no bump, he let me touch his head but didn´t want me to iykwim, kind of kept moving my hand away but didn´t flinch when I touched it. Just kept touching it enough for me to be

coincidence? important? nothing?

justpinions · 17/01/2008 20:44

Oooggs MN is constructive.

Poll please ??
