best thing to say when you can't think of what to say

oh I meant to say I went to a 1st aid course yesterday morning, was really really good. 2nd part is infant resus next week. Found it helpful even just in making you think about common dangers around the house or how you would deal with things. Like the closest hospital to us is brand new and about 8mins drive away but I don´t really know how to get there. You´ve all probably been miles more organised than me and already done one but if not, look into it, there were girls there with older dcs and expecting their 2nd and they seemed to find it just as helpful.

Octothechildherder · 13/01/2008 08:27

Morning!

Dippy - such terribly sad news

My sisters youngest has just been diagnosed with permanent high frequency deafness and will have to wear hearing aids - poor little thing - but Dippys news always put stuff into perspective.

I am still thinking about what to do at my interview tomorrow - have planned my lesson, chosen which bit to do and now thinking about exactly what am going to say!! I have decided to do the well-being/happiness side of healthy living rather than the food/exercise bit - and its very interactive etc! Didn't want to go in and teach about 5 a day etc - thought a little more thought was needed. It is 10 minute session out of a two hour lesson I have planned.

Ernie is crawling He thinks he is so funny and clever! Also his second top tooth came through last night so we may be in for some sleep!

StealthPolarBear · 13/01/2008 08:45

Good luck for tomorrow octo.
Your poor neice, how old is she? Does she seem ok with wearing hearing aids?
Maveta, at lack of sleep. Hope you get some today. It sounds like something is bothering N doesn't it? Hopefully iy will clear up today or tomorrow and then you will have some better nights.
Not bad at all here, T was up at 2.30 but apart from that, slept until 8am We both really needed a good night

Maveta · 13/01/2008 10:11

Octo, sorry about your sister´s little one. And another crawler! They´re taking off right left and centre now! Sounds like you have put a lot of thought into your plan, hope they love it.

SPB - glad you got a good night´s sleep, here´s hoping the wind blows it down this way!

well dh has now had a very lovely 2 hr nap while N only managed about 40mins propped up on some pillows on the sofa, had to sit with my hand on him, every time I moved he woke up is absolutely streaming snot poor baby

think I might try and slink off for a wee sleep myself now..

WestCountryLass · 13/01/2008 10:24

Dippy

Such very sad news, I am sorry for your DS SIL and for the whole family, such a tragedy.

I Would Give Everything I Own
Bread
You sheltered me from harm.
Kept me warm, kept me warm
You gave my life to me
Set me free, Set me free
The finest years I ever knew
were all the years I had with you

I would give anything I own,
Give up me life, my heart, my home.
I would give everything I own,
just to have you back again.

You taught me how to love,
What its of, what its of.
You never said too much,
but still you showed the way,
and I knew from watching you.
Nobody else could ever know
the part of me that can't let go.

I would give anything I own,
Give up me life, my heart, my home.
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again.

Is there someone you know,
you're loving them so,
but taking them all for granted.
You may lose them one day,
someone takes them away,
and they don't hear the words you long to say

I would give anything I own,
Give up me life, my heart, my home.
I would give everything I own
Just to have you back again

Sexonlegs · 13/01/2008 10:31

Hi all just popping in quickly.

Dippy, so sorry to hear about your sister's sil - dreadfully sad and so cruel and unfair.

Octo, sorry to hear about your niece. Hope she gets on ok with the hearing aids.

Maveta, sorry you are having such awful nights. Do you have a vaporiser in N's room to help him breathe? Do you have his cot slightly raised so he is not competely flat? I have found this quite helpful - K has a shit of a cold atm too.

POTC, sorry you didn't get to go on your date. Have you re-arranged?

Hi everyone else. Sorry for lack of personals - mega busy.

See you lovelies later. xx

leakyR · 13/01/2008 11:28

Morning

CD for your sis' SIL. Awful news.

POTC - I get labyrinthitis. It's yucky, makes you fall over and feel sick. Like being blind drunk without the fun alcohol stuff. Hope you get together soon and he turns out to be a good'un.

Maveta - hope N feels better soon and you all get some much needed rest. I can absolutely empathise as it's a cause for celebration in our house if G does more than 3 consecutive hours sleeping at night.

Mind has gone blank. Sorry if there's anyone I've missed.

House hunting was a success yesterday. Think we've found "the house" It's lovely and best of all available quickly as the vendors have already bought another property. It's near a good primary school and 2 mins from a nice park. I can already hear myself saying "If you're a good boy we can go to the park" Not that I'm getting carried away or anything

George was a model baby yesterday. we were out for 6 hrs looked at 7 houses and he didn't grizzle once. He was smiley, sociable and very cute all day.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 13/01/2008 13:15

yay Leaky really pleased it went well and things are looking up

Dippy has text me to say she can't get online as dh is fiddling with anti-virus.

I neeeeed sleep, but it's my own fault so shall not whinge
I fell asleep in the pub by 11 so we went home fairly early but then I sat up chatting to 'the man' on msn until 4am well, on and off because I kept falling asleep, but he could see me on the webcam so knew when I had

hi everyone

Pesha · 13/01/2008 19:36

D upstairs crying atm. Hes stopped having daytime naps now, has slept for a grand total of about 20 mins all day today. 5 mins on my lap at lunchtime and 15mins just now in car. And now fighting sleep still Hes had a full sleep so I shall keep going up to him but not getting him up or feeding him more. Its so hard, he'll go for about a week or so where he goes he of to sleep like a dream then it stops and he'll just cry when I put him down for a few days then back to sleeping ok. DP is upstairs trying to sleep before work so dont imagine hes too impressed either.
