Hi Pesha
at school jumper costs!!

It's such a shock Izzy not sleeping, because she's always been great, except when I was a/bs for mastitus, she was a pickle then as well, am hoping she will be better once she's finished them on Friday!

Right off to do hoovering/dusting etc

Sorry

Has Octo got news?

StealthPolarBear · 16/01/2008 16:00

lol at finger snatching santa!
octo waiting to hear back from job interview
pinions also has news, but she's playing hard to get

elkiedee · 16/01/2008 16:09

Hi all, swimming was fun. Now my dad has kindly taken D out to Mothercare to collect the bolts for our highchair table - they snapped after 2 months and it's taken a fortnight for the replacements to come in . Mothercare is probably only going to retain my custom because it's so conveniently located for me.

elkiedee · 16/01/2008 16:10

Hope Octo and Pinions have good news, but my dad is expecting me to have a nap not play on the internet. Hope to talk later if I can get D to sleep tonight, maybe in between then a little too.

Sexonlegs · 16/01/2008 16:13

Ange, I am sorry Izzy's still not sleeping well. She/you have had a rough ride of late. x

Octo, fingers crossed for the job.

Pinions, lovely to see you, now what is the goss!!!!

StealthPolarBear · 16/01/2008 16:34

T is really grumpy I have had enough please someone give me the solution?!

Maveta · 16/01/2008 17:04

SPB - do you have a sling you can put him in? Does that work?

Ange - sorry you are having a hard time of it re. nights aswell. In a way it does help to know other people are going through the same, for me anyway. ok. it doesn´t really help but it makes me feel less wretched

Pesha - i have to say I´m not so surprised, kids clothes have turned out to be a lot more expensive than I expected.. barely less than adult clothes in fact, if at all!

Bramshott · 16/01/2008 17:05

Gin

StealthPolarBear · 16/01/2008 17:06

haven't had him in a sling for ages, think he'd wriggle constantly or pull my hair
Thanks Bramshott, off to try gin now. Oh, you meant for him??

Maveta · 16/01/2008 17:09

hmm.. maybe you could try? N totally chills out when he´s in a sling and just gets on with looking around and hanging out.

but gin sounds like a better answer.

Bramshott · 16/01/2008 17:09

Sorry Katy, that was a bit flippant wasn't it . Do you have a door bouncer? O usually likes that when she's grumpy. And I must admit the other day she had been yelling during teatime for what felt like ages, and it was totally doing my head in so I put her upstairs in her cot while I cleared up the kitchen, and then when I went up to get her, she was smiling and chatting away to her toys as happy as anything . Maybe she just wanted to get away from me?!

Octothechildherder · 16/01/2008 17:10

I didn;t get it They said everything was great, liked me, loved my enthusiasm but there were other people who had adult teaching experience which they really needed. Hey ho - maybe this will jolt me into looking for another job!

Sexonlegs · 16/01/2008 17:18

Octo, sorry about the job. What a bummer.

Oooh Gin! Yummy. Make mine a large one!!

AngeG · 16/01/2008 17:21

Sorry about the job Octo

Thanks for the sympathy SOL and Maveta, it does help to know others are having horrible nights!

Not sure what to suggest SPB, my one saving grace is that Izzy is generally very happy during the day, especially if playing with something musical!! We have this (although I don't know if you can buy it anymore) and this both of which she plays with a lot. Jake was just the same as long as it was musical he'd play with it for ages!

Hello Bramshott and Elkie

Bramshott · 16/01/2008 17:26

Bummer about the job Octo - it sounded like a good one. Sure you'll find something else though, especially with your childherding skills!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 16/01/2008 17:31

it's coming, it's coming, honest!

StealthPolarBear · 16/01/2008 17:48

sorry octo sounds like very positive feedback tho
Bramshott, I need flippant to snap me out of this self pity Door bouncer - yes, haven't used it in ages!! Will stick him in it now. Maveta, you're right, maybe should try the sling again - he likes being held so maybe he will settle.
Thanks Ange, he usually is quite happy during the day, not sure what's going on today, maybe lack of sleep as he hasn't had his usual naps. Off to stick him in the bouncer!

Pesha · 16/01/2008 18:37

Sorry about job Octo Although agree with katy sounds like very good feedback

Dylan has just been saying a very definite (and very loud!) 'hiya' whilst waving frantically

And spoke to N's teacher. He had been coming home saying he got a thumbs down at lunchtime and when we asked why all he was saying was that other children had done things to him but he hadnt done anything. Turns out because they were having trouble with alot of the boys they asked them to rate their lunchtime plays with a thumbs up or down if other children had been nice or not! So nothing at all to do with him being told off just him saying he'd had trouble from other boys!! Big relief!! And he has started having cooked school dinners, she said hes been eating his all up and when I asked she said she does think it makes a difference to his concentration in the afternoons. She said you can really tell whos had it and who hasnt so thats good too. I was hoping it might help but wasnt sure. She also said hes being really really good at the moment and trying very hard. So feeling very positive about his schooling atm

runnyhabbit · 16/01/2008 18:51
