Sexonlegs · 15/01/2008 20:04

Pesha, how come you try and avoid Nestle? Am I being dim??

Dippy, sorry the job wasn't what you want. Hang on in there.

Hi Oooggs, NL and POTC.

All ok here. Dh back late tonight and bath/bed was actually ok. Just eaten a shit dinner tho - tortellini and sauce - it was YUK! Need a cuppa and some chocolate to get rid of the taste!

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2008 20:07

Had some bad news at under 1's today. A mummy at the adjoining toddler club (who is pregnant and has a toddler) her husband died in a car crash this morning - I didn't know her - but it is sad for the town and has been on the news

Maveta · 15/01/2008 20:13

Evening! lots of little bits of convo flying around so not really sure who´s to pick up on um.. only just sat down (9pm!) and nibbling on a piece of cheese for dinner as there is no food in the house Today was Big Shop Day but I forgot the car was in the garage and then I was going to meet dh from work and do it then but N woke up late, took ages to eat lunch blah di blah di blah and here we are at 9pm with no food. I´ve put some lentil and bacon soup on (first chance I´ve had all day to do it ) but I think these spanish lentils may require soaking. You know like you used to have to in the olden days. Why can´t they have quick cook lentils here? Is that just too 21st Century? So I suspect the soup will have to cook until midnight just to be edible.

I need to find something else to eat. I have chocolate. Can I have chocolate for dinner? Chocolate cereal? Ambrosia creamed rice? Banana and custard? Is anyone seeing a theme re. what we are well stocked up on in this house?

Sexonlegs · 15/01/2008 20:16

Oh God Oooggs, what dreadful news. Really sorry to hear that.

Pesha · 15/01/2008 20:22

Oooh rice pudding! 'Tis low fat you know so may have to have some of that myself to replace the missing chocolates I'm craving. With a dollop of homemade strawberry jam which is fruit so it must be good for me!

D went to sleep fine tonight then dp was up getting ready for work, for some reason standing up in the hallway right outside D's room putting his socks, lost his balance and slammed into D's door waking him up and he's still crying intermittently. FFS (at dp not D!)

oooggs · 15/01/2008 20:22

she must be going through hell, as well as trying to 'survive' for the sake of both of her children who both need her (in different ways) I can't even imagine it

Pesha · 15/01/2008 20:23

God somehow completely missed your post Oooggs, how awful

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/01/2008 20:24

I don't have anymore details, the nursery nurse who runs our under 1's (and the toddler group) got the phone call and had to leave in tatters and I carried the session on.

Awful news oooggs
Am planning a christening so too busy to MN! (well, almost). Have been whipping up a number of delicacies which I have handily stored in supermarket party food boxes or something like that. Mum, DH's mum and my aunt have all kindly offered to make stuff! Anyway, better go and email them, which is what I'm meant to be doing, all washing folded and away

NorthernLurker · 15/01/2008 21:21
