best thing to say when you can't think of what to say

Anyway, off for a bath now!

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:20

Pesha - I love baths - but then we don't have a shower so don't have much option tbh

POTC - Depends on whether your parish is large, thick, full of hot air and deeply satisfying??

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/01/2008 23:21

I'd say it was more like Why? You slept in the bath this morning you lazy mare with crap grammar.

OP posts:
PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/01/2008 23:22

right in parts NL,

large - NO
thick - OH YES!
full of hot air -- YOU'VE MET THEM?
deeply satisfying - NO WAY!

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:27

Thought it might be like that!

How is Joe now POTC? B is very bouncy, crawling, pulling up, cruising and climbing stairs - arrrrgh!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/01/2008 23:29

has been much better thanks, cough had pretty much gone although i have heard it tonight.
he too is crawling, pulling up, cruising and climbing stairs - although he's only done that at nursery so far!

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:33

Oh that's good to hear. I love watching them pull up on things actually - B is so pleased with herself!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/01/2008 23:35

it is just too cute isn't it

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:38

yes it is - then they reach for the remote control or the five hundred dangerous/sharp/valuable/grubby things that cover all parts of my house (very few valuable and I'm not saying how many grubby things) and it becomes a bit less cute Honestly - we so need to move - five people do NOT fit in this house - I keep buying plastic storage boxes to force back the tide of stuff!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/01/2008 23:41

Joe has a magnetism toward 1p coins and batteries

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:43

ooooooh batteries - the watch size are especially deadly fascinating [sigh]

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:43

Oh and B's favourite thing when we were at my mum and dad's for Christmas - yep - the coal bucket!!

elkiedee · 14/01/2008 23:44

Pulling up on things is very cute but it is hard work. I can't get D to sit or lie down a lot of the time. He's also learned that standing on me extends the number of things he can reach.

elkiedee · 14/01/2008 23:47

So what possessed you to become a parish councillor POTC? The description there sounds like it would fit a lot of our local councillors.

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:47

Oh yes the standing on you thing - it's so comfortable isn't it

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/01/2008 23:51

Joe has taken to climbing on tables if someone moves something out if his reach

I'm not really sure elkie
they were short of 2, I was approached by a friend of my gran. I have lived in this village for over half my life and it really feels like home, and I guess I'd like to make a difference to it, albeit a small one

it's also nice to be changing peoples ideas on council house tenants and single mothers

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 23:53

Hmmm - career as a mountaineer then?

I think it's great you are on the parish council POTC - so important to have all the commmunity represented - villages are not just populated by the over fifties!!!

elkiedee · 15/01/2008 00:06

Those sound like good reasons POTC, I especially like the bit about changing people's ideas.

We've been talking about trying to start a residents' association for this street and possibly neighbouring ones that don't already come under an existing RA.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/01/2008 00:09

I'm trying at least, I don't see how people can complain about the state of society today when they don't make the effort to join in.

I know not everyone has time to do things, but even turning up to village events would be a start, I have neighbours that have not been to one village event in the 4 years we have both lived here, they have a son matthew's age, so why bother living in such a village community?

Night all!

Pesha · 15/01/2008 00:14

So I go and then you all start talking

And yes Ellie I bow to your superior grammar you pedantic parish pillock ponce

elkiedee · 15/01/2008 00:15

Night NL, I'm going to bed too.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/01/2008 00:17
