morning!

Eddas · 15/01/2008 07:57

CD, those dates sound fine to me. Now I just have to figure out what we can do Will you be bringing all 3 lovelies?

MJ, diet buddy sounds good. Have only started yesterday. Not doing ww or anything as can't afford to join but have been before so vaguely following it IYSWIM! Am planning to start running but once it gets lighter for longer because it just won't fit into my day atm have signed up to one of the weight loss threads on here. Will do a link later. They seem to be a nice lot of ladies all wanting to lose a fair bit of weight. Hoping that at least some of them stick with it and keep me there too. Am planing to post quite often on there so if i go AWOL someone might notice and me back into coming back IYSWIM.

Octo, glad the interview went well fingers crossed.

POTC, I did the online form for dd, but also filled one out that the school wanted. Had to give them a copy of dd's birth certificate aswell. Am too impatient to wait til march when they tell you where they'll go Mind you my 2nd and 3rd choices were ones she'll never in a million years get into, so it'll either be the first choice or one they pick. BUT the first choice school did tell me she's unlikely not to get a place. Jeeez can I waffle or what

I think i'll mention my vouchers thingy in my annual review. I have lots to say atm I actually asked my boss yesterday if my current desk would be my permanent desk and he said they still hadn't decided and that I came back at a very busy time so that was why they just wanted me working so got put there USELESS ARSE. When I mentioned the pay date business he just shuffled uncomfortably and looked but didn't say much Am seriously wondering how i've been there so long. They couldn't give a toss about their staff and i'm thinking of saying as much in my review, but probably won't

Hi to everyone i've not mentioned think this post is long enough now

Eddas · 15/01/2008 07:59

here's the weight loss thread mj

Sexonlegs · 15/01/2008 08:09

Morning all

Hope you are all ok and not swept away or flooded.

Eddas, I think you should mention things in your review. Obv not in a shouty way, but try and be constructive with it. I just think if you leave it bottled up, you might explode, and resign or summat.
Hope that doesn't sound patronising - I just know from experience that it is best to air issues

Had a shit night here, as can barely breathe. Have been awake since 4, then K coughing at 4.30, then B shouted out for her donkey, and then dh's alarm went off at 5.30.
I am going to skive off work today. I can't be arsed and am knackered!!

Right, need to get sorted, so see you later. xx

StealthPolarBear · 15/01/2008 08:17

Morning
SOL, sorry to hear you had such a bad night. I have to say though I got B and K confused for a sec and thought it was your baby who shouted out for her donkey - was very impressed

liath · 15/01/2008 08:35

Morning folks!

Hope everyone is OK, have only managed to skim the 50 000 posts I've missed .

Had a fantastic break last week at Center Parc. Went to the Lake District one with my sister, BIL and their two boys. Best holiday I've had since having kids, really family friendly. Booked to go again in March with MIL this time. Says something about the place that I am now actively looking forward to a holiday with MIL .

DS is such a busy boy at the moment, very active - I thought I'd baby-proofed the place quite well but clearly haven't Jonny-proofed it.....He's cruising around and a couple of times has let go and stood for a few seconds looking triumphant - eek .

Have a good day everyone!

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2008 09:10

Morning again - older 2 at nursery and P down for sleep so a bit of time to myself....

Don't blame you for having a day off, SOL - try to get some rest and perspective while you are on your own sweetie.

Hi Liath! Glad you enjoyed Center Parcs We're going there in April with the outlaws

Absolutely foul weather here today - yuk! Have job interview at 1.30pm, not sure it is my sort of thing though, but willing to try anything atm..... pole dancing, stripping ......

Eddas - Yes, I will have all three of my little terrors lovelies with me - Is that ok!!?

StealthPolarBear · 15/01/2008 09:41

whats the interview for DIppy?
Good luck if I don't see you before
or are you too busy practicing on your pole?

Maveta · 15/01/2008 09:59

morning again! car in the garage today so no mum and baby group. although N only just went down for his nap at 10 so probably wouldn´t have made it anyway. that blasted 2nd top tooth still isn´t through although you can see it´s about to so still having rotten nights. not feeling too bad today though, body must be adjusting to accept 3 hours sleep as the norm!

It´s is a BEAUTIFUL day here, bright blue clear sky and probably warmish in the sun love it. ducks flying debris

going to get the train to see dh at work, he always loves us popping in, and do some food shopping. Want to take N in the sling and not bother with the buggy but don´t then want to have to carry a change bag aswell. Shall I risk a 2 hour out of the house trip with no change of nappy or clothes? Answers on a postcard please

PillockOfTheCommunity · 15/01/2008 10:03

good luck dippster

J went 10.30 til 7.30 last night
he does it whenever I have a meeting, stays asleep 6 til 10.30, then wakes up within minutes of me getting home (after 10), feeds and goes to sleep right through, but only when I'm out until 10ish

AngeG · 15/01/2008 10:10

Good Luck Dippy, what is the job for?

Maveta, of weather, it's pouring down here Not answering about taking nappy changing stuff, I would prob just take one napppy/wipes/cotton wool,in my handbag but you use resusables, so probably more bulky!

Yeah to J sleeping well POTC,think you need to stay out until 10pm every night.

Got to go to work in a sec, but can't be bothered. Izzy not sleeping well atm, think the antibiotics are upsetting her a bit

Have been lurking but finding hard to keep up atm.

Maveta · 15/01/2008 10:16

well that´s the other thing.. does anyone actually take their handbag when wearing a sling? How does that work? Don´t you get a bit weighed down? The new ring sling I have has a pocket so thinking about taking an emergency disposable and couple of wipes just in case and hoping there´s no disasters..

I have no other news.

AngeG · 15/01/2008 10:19

Don't know Maveta, I can't remember the last time I went out with a handbag!!

Think I would have to take something just in case!

Pesha · 15/01/2008 10:20

I'd risk no change of clothes Maveta, just put a bib on and stick a couple of nappies and small pack of wipes in your handbag? Or are reusables too bulky? Tis sods law if you dont take anything he'll do a massive leaky poo!!

SOL - sorry you had such a shite night DOnt blsme you for taking the day off.

Liath - glad you had a good time at centre parcs. My mum is talking about us having a family holiday in a few years for her 60th as she gets some sort of pay from a pension or something [didnt really listen emoticon] and we're thinking of going to centre parcs. DC will be 10, 8, 6 (sister's dd) and 4 so good ages for that sort of thing.

Dippy - good luck with the interview - you're fab, just remember that!!! What is the job?

Morning SPB

Eddas - sorry about all the hassle at work. No constuctive advice I'm afraid

I'm also dieting atm and finally feel like I'm getting back into it again. Lost nearly a stone before christmas but put half of it back on it again over christmas and been struggling to break the snacking habit since but have now lost what I put on so back to pre christmas weight! Still got a fair bit to go though to be back to my pre pg weight which was my lowest for years so may be a bit of a struggle and I'll def need to get back into exercising again soon as thats how I lost it all before.

Find the beginning of a diet really hard. I feel I'm doing really well, depriving myself of all the lovely things I want but theres nothing to show for it I'm still fat! I'm eating like a slim person but I'm not slim! Its not fair [stamps foot]

Got soaked on school run this morning. Shoes leak so shoes and socks and trousers currently on radiator drying! My feet were actually squelching in my shoes, prob would have been drier if I'd gone in bare feet

Pesha · 15/01/2008 10:24

X posts! Great minds eh Ange

Thinking about it not sure I do mange with handbag and sling. Do you have a small bag with a long strap you could use rather than the little piddly straps they all seem to have now, that might be easier. Although just shoving a few bits in the pocket of sling prob easier!

StealthPolarBear · 15/01/2008 10:26

I do risk going out for a couple of hours with no changing bag. But then one time I did that I ended up changing him on the floor of the bank meeting room, poo flying everywhere and he ended up in tesco in just a vest and coat with a blanket wrapped round his legs
So maybe I'm not the best person to advise

elkiedee · 15/01/2008 10:42

Good luck Dippy

Sorry you had a bad night SOL, hope you enjoy being off

I did manage to get an email through to Personnel through the organisation's website, and have had a response, although that unfortunately sends me a link to an intranet form for Childcare Vouchers. But they've passed my message on to payroll.

Eddas · 15/01/2008 10:49

of course it's ok to bring all 3 dippy Poor little ds will be totally outnumbered Good luck with the interview

Maveta, personally would take 1/2 nappies plus wipes and for my ds would need a change of clothes as he is MR SICK! oh and would need a muslin to wipe up the sick too!

erm, not sure what else i've read as was on the phone AND reading which means I took neither in

Oh pesha, you mentioned dieting didn't you. I hate it, BUT atm I hate looking at me more so am inspired I too find the first days a nightmare, i think it's the stomach getting used to not holding as much. THing is I know it doesn't need what I was eating. Am trying to retrain my brain but it's been operating in an 'I'll eat what I want' mode since I moved in with dh 7 years ago. Before that I was fine size wise happy fat

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2008 10:58

Eddas!!

Jon interview is for a new Estate Agents that has just been set up - have a horrible feeling it is going to be nasty Commission-based rubbihs; but I thought it wouldn't hurt to check it out anyway!

@ your nice weather, Maveta - Going to give my friend a call in a sec and see if she would give P and I a lift to nursery....

Sexonlegs · 15/01/2008 11:06

Hello!

Liath, sounds like you had a great time at Center Parcs. Welcome back to MN!

Dippy, good luck with the interview. I would love to work in an estate agents as I am a nosy cow!

Elkie, glad you are getting somewhere with work.

Maveta, I have to say I never go out without spare nappy, wipes and change of clothes. Sorry for tmi, but K's bowels are erratic!!

Pesha, good luck with the diet.

All ok here. B and K deposited and I am watching crap telly, eating chocolate croissant and drinking mocha! I am so glad not to be in work. It is just lovely to be here on my own!

Eddas · 15/01/2008 11:08

sol, would do it but atm it is MANIC at work(31 Jan deadline for tax returns) so just can't bring myself to do it. Maybe in Feb

Pesha · 15/01/2008 11:11

Eddas - hate looking at me too! Have done it twice before so I know I can, I only cocked it up by having blooming adorable babies Thinking about it you may be on to something with happy fat! Previous 2 times after having abaies I was single, albeit intermittently after N, and miserable so that probably helped It is the start thats the hardest when you're breaking habits and tummy adjusting as you said and nothing yet to show for it, I'm still in the same clothes so far But at least I can still cover up in winter clothes!

Dippy - good luck with job, might be crappy comission based but could be worth a try at least for a while whilst looking for something else?

Well D just fell asleep on me so put him up to bed but now he's shouting although not crying. Not sure what to do as its not really nap time for him but he did fall asleep, dont want to get him up again and then have him awake all day

CaptainDippy · 15/01/2008 11:11

Sounds FAB SOL
