Night Pesha, SPB and anyone else on their way to bed.

WestCountryLass · 13/01/2008 22:48

My final posting before hit the hay...

I said to DH earlier "should I give my cousin all of DDs old clothes as she has a little girl" and he said "no, not yet, you never know if we might need them".

Maveta · 14/01/2008 06:31

WCL!

I´ve already given all Ns 0-3 mth stuff to my sister but then I am anticipating getting it back at some point, it´ll be the most travelled baby clothes on MN

POTC - you msn tart! also smiled at the image of you chatting to this guy while drifting in and out of sleep hahaha.. just wrote [sleep] instead of grin. it´s early..

GMM - great plan! sounds like a wonderful goal to have, hardest part is getting started and after a week or two you´ll probably be starting to enjoy it or at least be in the habit. And what a great motivation you have for doing it too. Good luck!

Well off to work today must actually try to do something. since I got back from xmas I have been atrociously lazy. Hope you all have a great day, whatever you are up to.

StealthPolarBear · 14/01/2008 09:07

Morning everyone
WCL sounds like he has a plan!

elkiedee · 14/01/2008 10:13

Morning all, looks like we're back online. dp thinks it might have been me accidentally disconnecting something, and he may be right as the modem was showing as online all the time. At least he's got it working for me before he left the house this morning.

D's having his nap so I'm going to see if I can finish my breakfast before he wakes. Unlikely, as I've just made a coffee so I expect wails any second!

LOL at WCL's dh. Are you amused, happy or concerned at the idea that he thinks you might have more babies?

Maveta, how are your sister and her bump? When's she due again?

CaptainDippy · 14/01/2008 10:57

LOL WCL

Friend just taken DD2 out for a walk - is raining! Oh well ......

How is everyone today? I am ok.

Eddas · 14/01/2008 11:02

hiya, glad you're ok today cd. lol, at dd2 and walking in the rain poor little thing!

Day one of the diet, already wnating biscuits/chocolate/crisps/anything bad really! But I have been good. The only thing I've had so far is fruit and fibre and a cup of tea

Off to get some water as am getting a headache and i'm sure it's because I don't drink enough

Work this afternoon. Oh the joy

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/01/2008 11:11

I'm bored at work

Have just filled out the online application form for Matthew's school, finally! They have to be in by midnight on the 1st Feb so this is actually forward planning for me

CaptainDippy · 14/01/2008 11:13

Oh, she'll be loving it!

My DH is going on a course for 3 weeks, based in Maidstone - interested in meeting up a couple of times as he'll be able to give me a lift there & back??

CaptainDippy · 14/01/2008 11:14

Well Done POTC - I am going to an Open Day for DD1's school today - have popped her name down already, but it will be good to look.

WestCountryLass · 14/01/2008 11:31

Elkie, I think amused at this moment in time

Eddas · 14/01/2008 11:34

well done potc

cd, definately! Best days for me are thurs or fri, since i'm at work the other 3 what course is he doing[nosey]

elkiedee · 14/01/2008 11:34

Glad to hear you're feeling better CD.

Well done POTC, hope you get what you prefer (I think I remember you posting something about the choice of school) - I'm giving D his mid morning milk feed and then I'll dress him up to go out quite soon, as I'm probably going to go to Jolly Babies and then meet up with some mumnset posters in Crouch End - at least one person I've met before and some whose LOs are just a few weeks old.

I'm panicking about how to get in touch with Personnel and find out what's happening with payroll/how to get childcare vouchers - my maternity leave actually ends in less than 2 weeks and this affects what I should be paid tomorrow, but it's more crucial that I get paid in February. I work for a very large organisation so it's not a question of just what I've told my immediate managers.

Eddas · 14/01/2008 11:37

elkie, you go to so many diferent places. When I had dd all i did was toddler group once a week but not til she was 1. mind you i was back at work when she was 5 month since she was so bloody late arriving

Can you call your manager to ask who to call?

Eddas · 14/01/2008 11:41

right. off to change into some more work looking clothes rather than the jeans and t-shirt i'm currently in! Then need to wake beautiful sleeping ds(hate doing it but he seems to wnat to nap this time EVERY day!) then to work.

Will 'see' you all later, quite possibly whilst at work

CaptainDippy · 14/01/2008 11:42

Excellent Eddas Friday probably best - It's for 3 weeks, commencing the 25th Feb - So perhaps Fridays the 29th Feb and 7th March?? How exciting!

Yes, would contact your manager for a chat, Elkie.

Pesha · 14/01/2008 12:00

CD - when does dd1 start school, is it sept 09?

Well done Pillock, I left Maia's school application till the last minute, no computer to do it online so had to send it recorded to make sure it got there on time, only posted the day before closing date I think

Oooggs (I think it was you) - NO he has most definitely NOT given up daytime naps!! He only started having a proper daytime nap a couple of weeks ago! This is just a temporary glitch . He's upstairs crying atm, had fallen asleep on me feeding downstairs but woke up when I carried him up. Oh its gone quiet... [fingers crossed] Maia and Nathan both stopped having regular naps abit before they reached 2, Nathan slightly younger than Maia was. Although he'd occassionaly sleep in the car or on the sofa while I was cooking tea which would then mean he wouldnt sleep at night, he used to power nap and a 5 minute snooze would keep him awake an extra couple of hours at bedtime!

After difficulty getting him to sleep last night he slept right through until 7.10 this morning so I let him off the crying last night!

Crying Oh quiet again

CaptainDippy · 14/01/2008 12:03

Hope he has a good one now, Pesha!!

No, DD1 goes to school this Sept - 2008 -

Right, P awake so best give her lunch and get on .......

NorthernLurker · 14/01/2008 12:11

Hello all - back from a great weekend. We had snow! Sadly not enough to maroon us there. Girls were all brilliant and had such a good time, B very sociable too. I saw three red squirrels and ate a lot - mil catered v well! Journey up was very good - and girls extracted from school ok. Journey back was longer but uneventful despite foul weather.
Have skimmed through the weekends postings:

Oooggs - good to hear all was as you expected and quite straightforward at the scan.
Eddas - the thing with the vouchers is discrimination and totally out of line - you should raise a grievance with your HR dept!
Elkie - hope you get your salary sorted - can you ring the main s/board and go from there?
Leaky - great house news - well done!

ummmmmmmmm - can't remember anything else - so hello and apologies to the rest of you busy, busy ladies!

StealthPolarBear · 14/01/2008 12:34

hi everyone
welcome back NL, are you going to change your name, you are no longer a lurker?

CaptainDippy · 14/01/2008 12:41

Glady ou had a super w/e, NL - You have mail!!

Right, off to struggle P into her snowsuit and off to collect DD1 from Pre-School.

Laters .....

Pesha · 14/01/2008 12:44

Glad you had a good time Nl

Dippy - when you said you'd put her name down you mean the proper LEA application form and not just with the school dont you?! {shock] at her going to school, I imagine her as younger than that! When does she turn 4? [crap for not knowing emoticon]

Pesha · 14/01/2008 12:46

Very confusing moment then, read the start of Dippys post and thought it was mine! I thought I didnt write w/e did I?!? Not something I normally write

Virtual slaps around the face to stop being so bloody dappy needed I think!!!

Lucewits · 14/01/2008 12:53

Hello All

Really struggling to keep up these days. I am finding life very busy rushing around after my 4.
Life is good is the luce household, enjoyed catching up with GMM last week but was very to see C pulling himself up on his feet and cruising
S still lies on the floor flapping like a pigeon.
Dcs all well again and back at school/nursery which is bliss

I have also started my new year sort myself out and feeling fab so far. Have been doing all school runs on foot (2 miles a day) and have finally got back on my cross trainer each night. Only another two stone to go

Pesha · 14/01/2008 12:58

Planning summer hols atm. DP's family have invited us on holiday with them again. Would be dp's parents, grandparents, brother and sil and their dc. Little bit about a week away with them all and another family holiday as we've been away with family for last 2 years. Holiday just us would be nice I think. BUT we are very skint and couldnt afford much whereas this will be a week in a villa in France with a private pool so I'll force myself to go

We are probably going here has sandpit, tree house etc and all cots highchairs needed for dc, bil's dc are boys the same ages as my 2 boys so need double of cots, highchairs etc which this place has.

Now trying to sort out when we can take dd out of school as cant afford in summer hols and dont think people can get the time off work then. DD has SATs this year so cant miss school then. Spoke to teacher this morning and she sadi they should be finished by end of June but maybe not so would need to be July. Will find out when in July everyone can do and then will have to fill out form for the ime off. Not sure if head will approve it, she did last year but might not want to again. Although its at end of year so not much going on,, dd has good attendance and is a week in france so educational in itself I think, not like a week at Butlins or something! DD does French club at school so will be good for that too! See I'm practising my excuses reasons already!! I know lots of people who take their dc out of school for hols, some with and some without permission - they still go!

Dont need permission for DS1 as he doesnt legally have to be in school till hes 5 which isnt till August.
