Here we go! (or should I say here wii go!?). I'll try doing a link too...

Incidentally, I had a dream last night that Cerys suddenly learnt how to blow proper raspberries! Don't know where it came from but it could be that she has been trying since she was about 4 weeks old and did it entirely by accident yesterday!

kyala · 29/02/2008 13:55

kyala · 29/02/2008 15:24

Ooh judging by the message the person I thought was you isn't you. . . wonder who she is then?!
Gone to ask Arbensmum!

kinki · 29/02/2008 15:58

kyala, no photo yet. my initials are hk.

kinki · 29/02/2008 17:30

Sophus, wanted to send you a little message about sunday, but thought I'd rather do it a day or two before.

I know it's your first mother's day as a mum, and also your first without your own mum. It's probably a very emotive weekend for you. Without sounding too presumtious Sophus, I just wanted to say that the first's are the hardest. It will get easier. It's days like mother's day that feelings of grief come back to me, but it's not always easy to talk to others, as sometimes everyone seems to have moved on.

Anyway, I didn't want to be morose (?sp). Just to say that I'll be thinking of you. And that this whole thread is here if for you. I have a belief that my mum watches down on her grandsons and can see what a good job I do () and that she can experience the pride she would have felt if she was here with us.

So sorry if I've been presumptious or over-stepped the mark. Just wanted to give you a little {{hug}}. {{Hugs}} too to anyone else without their own mum.

I hope everyone has a lovely mother's day weekend.

Arbensmum · 29/02/2008 17:33

Well, i went back to the gp today as Arbens ear and nose were much worse and the cream the doc originally gave was doing nothing. I asked if it looked like Impetigo, after a wise woman suggested it, and he agreed and gave us some antibiotics to clear up the infection and some different cream aswell. If only he had have looked properly the first time and on wednesday i dobt his skin would be in such a mess now. Poor liitle mite it looks really sore.

Arbensmum · 29/02/2008 17:35

Sophus - Ditto to what Kinki said

kinki · 29/02/2008 17:44

Arbensmum, sorry to hear about little Arben. Ds2 had impetigo on the tip of his nose a couple of months ago. He's just turned 3. I don't know if he is typical but I wanted to reassure you that he was able to tell us that it didn't hurt at all. He was totally unfazed by it all. So much so that I never took him to the drs. She diagnosed it on one of my visits for me. And it was too late for ab cream as it was already healing. double . Bad muvva emoticon.

Arbensmum · 29/02/2008 17:49

Thanks Kinki, that is reassuring to know it isn't hurting

kyala · 29/02/2008 20:45

Arbensmum: heehee [smug emoticon!!] I'm glad it's all sorted for him now! Did you see the same doc? He better have looked ashamed of himself if it was!

((hugs)) for Sophus from me and the girl's too, immerse yourself in baby cuddles this weekend I know I will be (it's the only present I'm going to be getting!)

sophus · 29/02/2008 22:25

kinki, kyala, a-mum - thank you so much, your message s meant the world to me, had me crying into my supper.
my mum wasn't very mumsy and didn't give a fig if we forgot mothers day but every year we all used to make an effort for her and last year I sent her an enormous bunch of flowers as she had been so supportive in getting me through horrendous morning sickness.
I am so excited at the thought of my first mothers day as a mum, but to be experiencing it without my oh so adored mum is not how I ever envisaged it.
I hope everyone spends the day feeling as special as we all deserve to. I know I shall spend the day in a big teary hormonal fug watching linus roll around the place (he is very proud of his new skills).

Happy Mother's Day to everyone tomorrow - especially Sophus and Kinki and anyone else missing their Mum - ((((HUGS)))

My Mum is coming to stay tomorrow for the week to look after me as I'm am still poorly with Hepatits A ! She has had to get an injection just in case I'm still infectious ! The local Environmental Health agency have interviewed me to find out where I've eaten out in the last 6 weeks as they haven't had a case for the last year! Hmmmm I'm not impressed at being the 1 !!

love to you all xxx

kyala · 01/03/2008 15:40

Wow Amyclaramum That sucks!
Is it cureable? I don't know anything about HepA, what's it like to have? How do you get it etc? Hope you do get better

Well I'm not looking forward to, what will no doubt be, an uneventful Mother's day, due to DH having to work (am still v at DH's boss and have half a mind to take the girl's into the store and spend the day there just to tick the guy off, although saying that I don't even think the guy's working himself tomorrow. . .)
Did think about getting DH to drop me and the girl's off to his parent's tonight to get out of the house but I don't think I have the patience for their dog. . . Blardy thing spends the whole time barking when we visit and I end up coming away wishing I hadn't bothered going in the first place, but DD1 loves going round there and spending time with Granny&Granddad (hence DH taking her over to stay the past couple of weekends). Will see how I feel later.

The girl's have completely switched on me today, DD1 is behaving suspiciously well and Lolly's being a proper little monkey , I've put her down for a nap but she was crying at me like there was something really wrong (I suspect it was the fact that she's now used to having me all to herself on the weekends and it's just not happened this week), so had to just leave her crying, she's usually quite good when I put her down, if she crys she stops once the door is shut (she gets the hint quite quick that one!) but she just carried on this time, I think she's settled now, I've turned Beebies up for DD1 and am planning on doing a bit more work on my ball gown. . .
So I'm off then

Arbensmum · 01/03/2008 17:23

ACMum have you been having dinner with your celeb friends again! Dont be shy, Demi moore and ashton wouldn't have minded us tagging alon to his 30th i'm sure!

amyclaramum · 01/03/2008 17:58

Kyala - you get Hep A from eating infected food (its most common in parts of the world with poor sanitation). Basically you have flu like symptoms , v+D, AND you turn yellow because your liver packs up and you get jaundiced ! There is no cure but most people recover completely - Doctor told me to get some help and rest as much as I can and it could take 6 months to feel recovered - oh dear ! Hope your lo calms down for you and gets to sleep ok ? I hope you have a nice day with your girls tomorrow !

Arbensmum - I wish I had been somewhere really nice with my celeb friends or travelling to exotic holiday locations - but its likely to have been Pizza ExPRESS as we've only been out with the DD's recently !! Just my luck !

kinki · 01/03/2008 21:42

Apologies in advance for the me me me post.

I've spent all afternoon and evening in A&E with dh. He started getting chest pains and going clammy and sweaty. He has raised bp and cholesterol. We only live a mile from the hospital so I wanted to take him in the car asap, but he was having none of it. In fact he was getting quite nasty, which I know can be another sign of a cardiac episode. He wouldn't let me phone an ambulance or out of hours dr. I was getting v worried. He 'allowed' me to phone nhs direct who were really quite good. They persuaded him to go eventually. They wanted to send an ambulance but he wouldn't have it. So we ended up going in the car.

So far all the signs look quite positive. ECG, chest xray, first lot of bloods etc have come back ok. But he has to have another blood test at 1am. So he has had to stay in. Hopefully that will be clear and he can come home tomorrow. And we can put it all down to too much porridge for breakfast giving him indigestion. I hope to god it's not his heart. He's only 41.

God, we've been such an unhealthy household. Ds1&2 have been off school/preschool all week with a nasty cold - very worried about ds1 on wednesday when he suddenly became photophobic and in agony with his neck. He's never been ill before so I was very worried, but fortunately it turned out to be a chest infection and nothing more sinister. Liam had his second jabs this week and he's not been a happy bunny since them either, but so far avoided the cold the others had. But today I'm coming down with it. The worse bit is the temperature. I'm at 39.9deg and feeling very shivery. I've taken paracetamol so hopefully it should come down soon. I really can't be ill tonight, I really can't.

Just had to ring his mum. She's had a long week too as his dad has been poorly and in hospital. Talk about it never raining but pouring.

kyala · 02/03/2008 10:31

Crikey Kinki Feel for you, what a palaver!

ACMum: Well that sounds great doesn't it! Will you be informing us of the suspected offending eatery?!

MrsFish · 02/03/2008 17:48

Normal day here, did have a nice sunday lunch at the in-laws though

kyala · 02/03/2008 20:28

Well, that was a pants day
Glad it's all over now! DD1 has been such a pain, screaming her head off and shouting and stamping and generally being a proper little madam! Lolly, on the other hand, has practically been an angel That's my girl!

The "girl's" bought me a bottle of wine and some roses (flowers not chocs, thank goodness, am determined to lose this belly by the summer) and I had a glass last night but am definately going to need another tonight!

Hope you guys all had a better day!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL MUMMY'S!

Hopeysgirlwasntbig · 03/03/2008 10:04

Kinki, just read your post! How's DH? What an 'eventful' weekend for you. Your DH sounds just as stubborn as mine, thank goodness for having a sensible wife and good old NHS direct! How's he feeling today? Sending your household healthy vibes!

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day.

I'm stressing somewhat today as I can't remember the log in details (well I don't know them actually!) to find out what secondary school place DS1 has been offered. VERY STRESSED, DH has put his name down for a school which will take DS hours to get to in the morning , it's just not going to work. Unfortunately when we had to make the application I wasn't in any position to offer any input, Niamh was only a week or so old, and you all know what state I was in then! DH looked into the schools on offer and admittedly this school is amazing, but too too far to travel to.

Right, am going to focus my energy on tidying this house!

Hvae a nice day x x x

MMooMar · 03/03/2008 13:37

Hi Ladies and all those growing babies,
Hope everyone had a very special day yesterday,Sophus, hope yours was extra special.
Had two cards off my boys which suprised me ,thought DP would buy one and make it out from both so he proved me wrong there. Also had a fingerprint jewellery gift set off them which involves taking a fingerprint of each of them sending it back to the supplier who in turn makes them into silver pendants for you,so cant wait to get them done.

Didnt go out for dinner tried to get DP to do it but settled for him just cooking the breakfast instead.

Lukas is doing really well, most of his clothes are 9-12 months so he is a big lad, doing really well with rolling over and trying to sit up.Sill feeding him during the night but thankfully its getting longer between feeds and he has mangaged the odd few nights of sleeping through but I never ,kept waking to check on him....typical!

Has anyone who is breasfeeding had their first period after the birth yet, mine arrived last Monday and is still happening, thats very long for me!Have also had very bad headaches and have had nausea before and during and have been quite heavy with no signs of getting lighter yet....anyone else been like this?
Anyway not stopping long too much to do as usual, but just a quick line about my mom,don know if anyone remembers that my mom was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney and it wa also in a main vein into the heart.Well she managed to get the cancer shrinking drugs that are working and are shrinking the cancer in the vein, she is set to have the kidney removed in April. It will be a big op but now its shrinking in the vein her chances of surviving the op have improved.Just needed to share .
Love to you all
