Nice here eh? Seven is a lovely magic number.

DD has horrible cough off DH. They are both hacking away like nanny goats so our house is rather noisy and I s'pose I'll have to get it too, sooner or later. A real workout for the immune system at 6 months anyway.

Think maybe my purees were a little bit lumpy for DD. She really went for the bought stuff I gave her today, and I was quite reassured. Anyone actually tried the Hipp apple and blueberry? So tasty I could have it on toast , no probs.

Georgina hope your hands, feet and mouths are OK.

Twiglett you are a rascal... sleeping through eh? what on earth is she thinking of?

Think I would rather miss my little overnight fixes of DD if she didn't remind me of her presence every 3 hours or so.

She's getting pretty much the same as my DD then. Other than that my DD gets the option to play with a bottle and waste some v. expensive formula twice a day. My friend's DD has just weaned herself at 10 months but was only on nighttime feed by that point. For myself its the middle of the nights thats the sticking point. How would I settle her?

Cat - more vibes.

Prufrock another great festive name. Have no inspiration myself.

GeorginaA · 01/12/2004 13:35

I have an movie of ds2 being cute... only problem is it's huge and only seems to run with Quicktime. Should I post a link?

Egypt · 01/12/2004 14:32

yes yes yes, i have one too, called, 'yogurt all over myself, the carpet, mummy's jumper, mummy's hair...'

cant think of a chrimble name either

GeorginaA · 01/12/2004 14:37

Okay well try here

Warning: the file is 9.2MB big... I can't work out a way of getting it smaller as if I load it into the windows editing thingumy I only get soundtrack and not video - same in media player. It only seems to play in Quicktime.

If anyone works out WHY this is, please let me know!!!

Egypt · 01/12/2004 15:20

i cant play it. it opens in media player and just says 'connecting.....' forever. maybe if i left it for ages it would, but doesnt even say buffering or anything. dont know how to open in quicktime.

here's mine anyway:
yogurt

GeorginaA · 01/12/2004 15:33

Egypt · 01/12/2004 15:57

cat82 · 01/12/2004 16:03

NEEEEEEEEEGGGGGAAATTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVEEEEEE!!!!!!!! HURRAH!

Sorry guys, so relieved i can't tell you.

Couldn't see your video Georgina or yours Egypt!

xx

Bozza · 01/12/2004 16:28

So pleased you got the result you wanted Cat.

I had my first ever negative test the other week at the hospital. They wouldn't xray for my missing coil without checking. It felt a bit strange.

GeorginaA · 01/12/2004 16:30

Okay, try this

(smaller format, keeps fingers & toes crossed)

cat82 · 01/12/2004 16:59

Thank you bozza

Awwww Georgina- that was adorable I have to say though, that your voice (I take it it was yours?) sounds increadibly freakily like mine on video! How wierd!

GeorginaA · 01/12/2004 17:02

Yeah, I think it's because I had on that cheezy "Hey look at this fantastic camera thing PLEASE smile" voice...

Video makes your voice sound weird anyway, even worse when I go into Stepford Baby mode...

spots · 01/12/2004 18:08

Prufrockin'...Hollytwig...How would you cut down on breastfeeding a baby that can't get enough of breastfeeding? just by the by... seeing as how the subject came up... and not for me of course I have this friend...

OP posts:
TheHollyAndTheTwiglett · 01/12/2004 18:52

Absolutely no idea ... sorry (I'm still fairly baby led which is more out of laziness than ideals to be fair )

Prufrock might know though

Egypt · 01/12/2004 19:03

sorry to change the subject - but I'VE WON A DIGITAL CAMERA!!!!!!!!

had this dubious looking letter come in post which said i had definitely won one of these prizes:

vw beetle, £1000, digi camera, etc....

but phoned the helpline to check and it was true! shame it wasnt the car, but, heeeeeeeee!

sorry. ahem, cat, great news! phew.
G - am just buffering your clip now. oo-er missus

Egypt · 01/12/2004 19:09

awwwwwwwwww. he's a happy chappy on his front isn't he? dd hates hers.

let's try again:

scroll down and click on 'yogurt1'
yummy

sorry about the light quality. gawd, why can i never get a good pic or video for you lot#?!

libb · 01/12/2004 19:29

The 10th is a Friday so how does that suit everyone? If it is an evening affair then I guess it will be baby free? We could ask other Cambridge bods too . . .

(dare I whisper that we "may" have a sleep routine now of 8ish through until 7 (8 at weekends if we're lucky)? I am not burning my bridges though so here goes "HE IS THE MOST WIDE AWAKE BABY IN THE WORLD AND NEVER SLEEPS WELL . . .".

GeorginaA · 01/12/2004 19:38

YAY .... got to see the yoghurt video! I seem to be missing various stuff on my pc which means my media player is a bit screwy - dh has fixed half of it for me!

Egypt · 01/12/2004 20:12

ooo (whispers) well done baby libb....shhhh

cant say the same myself though. have managed to shhh back to sleep once or twice the last couple of nights but i swear when she wont go back to sleep she is hungry.

remember the prague saga? has reared it's ugly head again. (off to prague for my 30th in jan, with my friend who doesnt particularl want us to take dd....i dont want to leave her but i kind of want a w.e without her too, iyswim). well i'd said to my mum that if she is sleeping better and will take a bottle, she could come and stay with her at ours. now mil has offered to have her. havent told her that my mum has offered although i will, hoping she'll say she'll step back then. its just that mil makes dd cry! does things like try to feed her adult food (morrisons strawberry mousse) 'that's soft enough for her' HELLLLOOOOOOOO!!!!!? and i know dd wont settle with her. now i feel sick. i dont want to take her really, but if it means her having her then i do. even if my mum has her its kind of like letting mil know that she can be without me during the night and she will then want her at the w.e's. oh gggooooooooooaaaaaaaawwwdddd.

sorry i shall shut up.

i dont think she will be sleeping through by then though and she def wont settle with a bottle in the night.

aaaaaaaanyway

SusiS · 01/12/2004 21:33

egypt your dd made me smile big time
G couldn't see yours only weird colours rushing over the screen...

cat; good news!

aawww poor egypt, whatever you do is not right
just do with whatever you feel most comfy

and how did the monsterhunt go btw?

ds didn't want to go to bed tonight
normally he falls asleep on my at 6.30 sharp!
today he was happily screaming away in that new tone and just wouldn't settle. was hard to calm him. but once he was calm he actually realised how tired he was
and we cut out a bottle too. he has only 2 bottles now + 3 meals - let's see how this works.

Bozza · 01/12/2004 21:43

Georgina saw yours. Your DS is very good on his front. If I did a movie like that it would be punctuated with loud yells. Egypt sorry couldn't see yours.

Susi sounds like your DS is not a big fan of milk. Think DD is heading that way.

DD seems to be getting better from her cold/cough at last. But DS is still coughing quite a bit in the night and I've still got a cold and sinus trouble which I can't treat because of the breastfeeding.

Starofbethlibbhem · 01/12/2004 22:11

Egypt, DS just had to prove me wrong . . . I am not discussing sleeping habits again - ever. His cheeks are bright red so have done Calpol to see if it would help. any chance of you popping out one night in December?

We need to up the ante on weaning - he now has two meals a day and 20 odd ozs of milk during the day, he is clearly ready for a third meal as the last feed in the last day or so has been towards 15 ozs! so that is our next hurdle - timing everything towards three meals and a final diddy feed at night . . . he is still having milk for breakfast as it is easy to do but obviously this isn't ideal. Talk about learning curves!

I love all the movies - so so cute!

Judd · 01/12/2004 22:16

Hiya everybody. Just finished wrapping up Barbie pencil crayons for party bags (DD is 3 on Saturday!) I tried to look at both the video clips but couldn't see either of them, I just get groovy, wavy lines...not a baby in sight
DS is all dribbly and smiley - gorgeous little poppet. He tolerates being on his tummy but would prefer not to bother! Is constantly bouncing up and down...has started doing pelvic thrust type motion when he's lying on his back, and even tries to jump when he's in my arms!

Judd · 01/12/2004 22:18

Oh yes, he's got his top two teeth now as well. They look HUGE compared to the little bottom two. And he's already learned to grind them against each other....torture !!

Linnet · 01/12/2004 22:35

Hi everyone,

It's been ages since I posted. We're all fine here. Dd2 tonight discovered that if she rolled over then kept on going she could end up squashed against the couch. So that was fun for a while. She tries to crawl but hasn't figured out that she has to be up on her knees to do that. Is getting better about keeping her head up when she's on her tummy though, sometimes she just puts her head down on the floor and screams and I shout, lift your head up, and she does but then it goes back down again.

I saw your video Georgina, it was good, dd2 kicks her legs like your ds does and then seems annoyed that she hasn't managed to get anywhere.
Egypt your movie didn't work

I was entertaining her today with christmas songs, dh was at work so I played all my christmas cds and sang along, loudly, much to dd2's delight. She thought it was great fun and so did I.

I go back to work a week on Monday, it's come round so fast if I win the lottery this weekend though I'll just stay home. I've still got a few things to get for christmas and I plan to have them all bought by the end of next week so I don't have to worry about still needing to buy anything once I'm back at work.

We got those teething powders yesterday, Ashton and Parsons, and they are fab. The anbesol doesn't seem to help her much but these powders are great. Stops all the crying and chewing of fingers for a good long while. I was trying to get a good look in her mouth today and I think one of her teeth is just about through so hopefully in the next few days it will make an appearance.

Good to see that you're all doing well. How is the weaning going for everyone? Dd2 is getting there slowly. loves her rusks and biscotti's that we got her. I bought a jar of food for 7 month olds with lumps in it to see how she got on. first day she wasn't impressed but today she was fine with it. Gave her home made food tonight, mashed up some of what we were having for dinner and she loved it so we're getting there slowly but surely. Still can't figure out this low salt stock though. Was going to make some recipes out of the AK book but she calls for no salt stock cubes and I see on other threads that they are impossible to buy. you would think that they would be available nowadays.

ok gotta go take care

Linnet(can't think of a christmas name)
