Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fitfox · 06/01/2008 20:54

Kiwi - she was nice (v tasty boyfriend too ). I don't think she'll move in though - not sure why, but I can feel it in my waters!

bethoo · 06/01/2008 21:01

ooh Piffle - fingers crossed that you get what you want.
hope everyone is well, kiddies back to school, back to early nights etc tomorrow.

MerryPIFFLEmas · 06/01/2008 21:10

Dreading dd going back she has been bug free for over a week now, dare I send her back into that den of germiness

I am actually on strong antibiotics for pleurisy atm I have had it befroe it precursed pneumonia which nearly saw me off
Luckily this time I have caught it early
I am not at all sick, just have mega chest pain on breathing and some light coughing which kills painwise.
Off for chest xray tomorrow (oh depending on preg test I guess
Farkkk....)

Well I am so sure I am not pregnant... having said that my cycles have always been pedantically regular.

So will grab a test after dropping dd off tomorrow and see.

DP has said either way, it'll be ok
Bless him.

Bethoo enjoy your flirting btw, tis good for the soul

FourCalliecoingBirds · 06/01/2008 21:53

Piff - if it's any consolation, my period was either a week or 12 days late depending on when I finally decide it actually started (weird bleeding pattern). I was convinced I was pg, but sadly (in my case) I wasn't. Good luck with the test.

Girls, Jordi will be one on Tuesday . I need some advice - I'm having a little tea party for him with between two and four other babies coming, as well as assorted children and adults, and I need some advice on food to give the babies. It's actually at tea time, so I'm not sure if some of them will have had tea or not - any suggestions on suitable tea-but-birthday-style food? I still don't give Jordi anything with sugar or salt in it, but I don't know what the other mums are doing, so I want to provide options for both 'good and bad' foods. Also, I don't have to organise games for one-year-olds, do I?

Also, on the development front, Jordi still doesn't sit up on his own, hates being on his front, doesn't stand, roll over, crawl.... He does babble on lots, dada, dead, did, dud, etc being his favourite words, but they don't apply to anything in particular I don't think. Although occasionally I think he may be saying something like cat when she comes in the room, Mossy, sorry, Polarbear! His legs are very strong and bizarrely you can nearly leave him unsupported standing if he is holding on to something else, but I think it's the muscles in his back, or his massive head, which is stopping him sitting up. Even allowing for him only being 10 months old really, I can't help worrying a bit about his sitting, but I saw the paediatrician just before Christmas and she said everything was ok, so I'm trying not to...

Sazzy, belated happy birthday! I don't think you can be one of my FB friends because I didn't get any notification of a birthday, unless I missed it.

Rosylily · 06/01/2008 22:23

Ooh Yes Piffle I totally remember that! If you are pregnant there will be a few jealous people on this thread, not me though or Kitty or Diva.....

Muppet I am contemplating how to manage a party for dd on the 25th, you are a mad mad brave, brave woman

Rosylily · 06/01/2008 22:32

Callie, trying to think...maybe pasta? fruit salad? petit filous? babybels? salt and shake crisps (and don't add the salt)don't see them often these days. Chopped up raw vegetables to dip in cream cheese?

MerryPIFFLEmas · 06/01/2008 22:41

callie. Mini sandwiches. Grated cucumber and cream cheese are yum. Also cheese and pineapple sticks an oldy but goody!!! Jealous you say Rosy? If I am up the duff perhaps I'll share the load . Am frankly terrified at the thought...

kiwibella · 06/01/2008 22:54

I'll be first in the jealousy line

although a firm believer in what will be, will be.

First birthday parties . You have to have a birthday cake!! Although trying to imagine a birthday cake without sugar... is that possible??

Rosylily · 06/01/2008 23:05

Birthday cake can be covered with unsweetened fresh cream and fruit, they wouldn't eat much of the cake anyway probably.

Piffle if the test is positive tomorrow, you will rise to the challenge, just wondering and worrying is the worst bit. I definately wouldn't postpone doing the test and of course definately come on here and let us know! We'll jolly you along whatever the outcome!

TheBlonde · 06/01/2008 23:21

Cake is for mummies only
That worked on DS til 2 years!!!

kittywise · 07/01/2008 07:14

Just a quick one before I drag the kids out of bed
Piffle , hope you get the result you want.

I so do not want another baby but really strangely always feel a bit when people are pg.
I think if I got pg I would top myself (not really). But I don't have savaloy so no worrries there

muppetisacat · 07/01/2008 10:49

Morning ladies... had ok ish night til 4.30 when Samuel decided it was time to get up.... grrrrrrrr

Have learn't my lesson with regards "sleep"overs, or "stayawake"overs as they are now known. NEVER AGAIN.

Piff - have you done test? Sorry to scare you last night was too tired to read back what i'd written... hope you don't think i was insensitive . I'm sure that whatever the result... all will be well. I completely understand where you're coming from in thinking you would brick yourself were you to be pg but at the same time I'm sure you'd come round to feeling excited if you were.

Bethoo - those men would bloody terrify me I am such a wuss though . Why are they all naked? . I could just about cope with the bloke from Reading and the Soldier boy as they have clothes on ... that one from the USA though... in reality you know he's going to be a 40 stone man of 70 years don't you . You're a much braver lady than I!!

muppetisacat · 07/01/2008 10:52

Callie - no advice on party food that hasn't already been given but I wouldn't worry about organising games unless you had loads of much older kids coming. Just lock them in a room of toys and go and drink some wine!

MerryPIFFLEmas · 07/01/2008 12:15

Yes have done two tests
Um err
there are two faint shadows where you expect a line to be
so inconclusive
However dp has said (rightly) that when we were ttc I was desperate that if I saw shadows like that I would have assumed I was pregnant
So have ordered some ebay tests and will test again (cheaper) in a few days if no AF
Am remarkably what will be will be about it...

Rosylily · 07/01/2008 12:26

Piffle- was the test line faint aswell? That really sounds like a positive to me. Because even a faint line means hcg isn't it. You can get a wrong negative but not usually a wrong positive. Though the test line is usually strong. What test did you use?

Glad you are feeling okay and philosophical about it.

evenhope · 07/01/2008 12:26

Hate to tell you this Piff but DS2 started off as a shadow line on a test.....

Rosylily · 07/01/2008 12:28

oh yeah you mean a faint shadow with each test. Hmmm....think you may have a bun in the oven Hope so

MerryPIFFLEmas · 07/01/2008 12:36

rosy
thanks for hoping so
you gonna come and do my washing then

Rosylily · 07/01/2008 12:43

Piffle I seem to remember you sort of wanted another didn't you, but you had a very difficult pregnancy last time with one thing and another.

MerryPIFFLEmas · 07/01/2008 12:56

I am broody I guess and could have 100 kids in all honesty, we can afford it and have a big enough house and a car that can have an extra seat put in it.
Lucky I know
However my back is pretty screwed.
I have done some great work on it since having Finn though.
I had some SPD early on and was pretty tired throughout with Finn but really it was an ok pregnancy. With dd it was dire as vomited 20 x a day. Dread that more than anything esp dealing with Hurricane Finn.

kittywise · 07/01/2008 13:00

Piff surely if you are a week late then the line would be pretty strong?
I have had positive preg tests and then have gone on to have af a couple of days later. I didn't count them as pg's though. Don't know what it was.

kittywise · 07/01/2008 13:03

Anyway, meant to say hope it IS a positive if that's what you want.

As for me I only had ONE baby at home this morning!!!! Dd3 had her first day at pre school horray!!!! Managed to get tonnes done around the house , moving like a whirling dervish I was

MerryPIFFLEmas · 07/01/2008 13:05

I don't want in all honesty... don't see how I could be but...

kiwibella · 07/01/2008 13:05

wow Piffle... I am sure you feel more shocked that I do. I tend to agree with the others about the faint line being positive. But, I can understand that feeling that your af might just appear!! I'm glad that you are philosophical about what the result may be... some times I do believe in a greater being who delivers us what we should have in life.

iyswim!!

Evenhope... have you gone back to work yet? How is lo at her nursery?

muppet ... I am impressed by your choices too, Bethoo. I would enjoy flirting but I am too chicken to follow through these days.

MissE is back to school today. Hubs has taken his big girl to do some sightseeing (Harrods- shopping for his mother!!). I can't believe how quiet the house is... now, where to start with the mess

Rosylily · 07/01/2008 13:25

It only takes once! But Piffle if you are preggars, think how quickly that uncomfortable nine months go by in hindsight. And a completely new and unique little person comes into your life and you can't imagine not having them.

If I got pregnant now (not likely of course) I would be in a mad panic about coping with another...ooh I would be dreading another labour day, I would be wishing away the first trimester which I hate but also after it all sinks in, it would be so exciting, wondering what the baby will be like and what it's name should be.

Cor I'm getting a teensy bit broody on your behalf now

And if you are not pregnant you can breath a sigh of relief (until next time)
