spongecake · 31/12/2007 21:47

was in shop today and was convinced had paid. whole shop watched amused as i slowly realised had just showed assistant my card, before putting it back in bag then carefully packed the shopping under the pram and said happy new year byee !!! ah well, its a year your brain is frazzled for after childbirth is it? was so red and so glad i hadn't argued or got angry

foxcubinapeartree · 31/12/2007 21:51

Hee hee Diva - nice to see you back, although at your mum> I guess you could say to her "well it probably all stems back to my unhappy childhood!!"

Sponge - enjoy your tax returns and happy new year

Kitty - enjoy your couple of hours of freedom

Rosy - enjoy your curry and cobra (mmm sounds nice) - I might paint some table legs tomorrow ! Did you put that lovely wall paper up you ordered about 1 year ago?

Rosylily · 31/12/2007 22:02

Nah Foxy, it's still waiting to be put up....one day.
I found a mini bottle of cherry wine and drank it and I feel more sozzled than I have for a long time (hic)

Diva, I certainly shall join you. I want to drop a stone too and birthday is a good thing to aim for. It will be easy peasy to drop a stone, all I need to do is stop over eating...hic

Rosylily · 31/12/2007 22:05

Sponge i was trying to send you an invite to that quiz couldn't work it out but i see you've done it...how come I am 75? I don't tlike that quiz, or the iq test cuz I'm not as clever as my sisters. (brainy cows)

cazboldy · 31/12/2007 22:09

Happy New Year to you all!

kiwibella · 31/12/2007 22:19

I wanna go to bed!! I am whacked... the girls are giggling non-stop in their bedroom and Kate is screaming in ours. I must have fed her about 26 times this evening . Bless my hubs who is so patient with her.

Yes, Foxy, Kate can get around well but she hasn't made any attempt to climb or escape from anything. She sits and screams at people!!

I'm glad that you have managed to get out for a little while Kitty. Hope that it is lovely being an adult socialising with your friends

Good luck Bethoo... hope it works out how you want.

Yum, yum Rosy... it sounds like you are having a great time with your supplies .

Oh no Spongecake, hope you feel better soon.

Snoo... I like Diva glad that she is back.

Crying is becoming a whimper but Kate just won't give up!!!

KITTYmaspudding · 31/12/2007 23:16

KITTYmaspudding · 01/01/2008 08:05

hangover from hell, thrown up already, still at least I let my hair down!!
happy new year (again)

OP posts:
Rosylily · 01/01/2008 09:33

Well done Kitty, you are officially a party animal now and not just a mum just in time for 2008.
I always feel (slightly superstitiously)that what ever we are doing at new year is significant for the year to come and that is why I was keen to be painting and dh and I even managed to have an affectionate phone call...miracles will never cease

Must admit though, last night my head was buzzing with excitement for the possibilities of this year (cherry wine 11.5%) and this morning my back is sore, the house is a tip (even though I try to get on top of it I can't), I'm so tired...blah blah blah.....

How did everyone elses NYE go?

sazzybeehomeforxmas · 01/01/2008 10:56

Urgh - have horrible hangover. I stayed up until 2am and I was sick too. Class act me If you're right rosy then this year will be full of champagne cocktails for me!

Elliot only slept for 10 mins in car on the way home so I'm hoping he's going to go for a very long nap soon so I can too. Am never drinking again

Happy new year!

TheBlonde · 01/01/2008 11:00

Happy New Year Everyone!

Not hungover here but v tired, we went out and only got to bed around 3am.

foxcubinapeartree · 01/01/2008 11:12

LOL Sazzy at "I am never drinking again"!!

Good to see there are some healthy hangovers on here, and even some vomiting Kitty

We were up until 2am, so Dcs could wath all of Jools Holland and Monti was still dancing roundthe room at 2am!! Dcs really enjoyed it. Loads of fireworks went off at midnight in the surrounding streets, which kids loved.

Interesting what you say Rosy - I got to have some "oats" last night!!!!!! . Not sure I'll have enogh energy to do it more than a year though!!

KITTYmaspudding · 01/01/2008 11:25

Glad the new year celebrations went well.
Sazzy, I find that "resolve morning after" drink does the job nicely.
It's revolting, but if you can keep it down it gets rid of all yuckiness
I've got the post drinking munchies today

OP posts:
ReverseThePolarity · 01/01/2008 11:28

Morning all, lots of happy hangovers it seems - not me, far too sensible plus I have a baby in the bed so try not to get too pissed (although was rather tipsy). Saw in the new year chatting to neighbours having gotten Bertie up at his first night waking (at ten thirty) and proceded to try and keep him awake but not grizzling which is difficult.

So... Kitty, what happened in the end with your Mum? Bethoo, did you dump your dp? Snoo ... or ought I to say Diva, nice to have you back. Rosy at your affectionate phone call. Dh and I even held hands last night. Foxy... congrats on your oats! Blonde... hope you get some sleep.

Who've I missed? Well, anyone I've missed, happy new year.

Resolutions here:
Get a job ASAP
Pass driving test
Become more healthy (not saying "lose weight" as don't want to set myself up for a fall but that is basically what I mean)
Try to nurture relationship with dh
Read to Bertie lots (don't read to him enough atm)
Read one book a month that isn't about breastfeeding or babycare!

Anyone else?

TheBlonde · 01/01/2008 13:23

NY Resolutions so far...

  • sleep more
  • socialise more
KITTYmaspudding · 01/01/2008 13:40

I don't do resolutions, but if i were to aim for something it would be to live for the moment as much as I could, to get my fitness levels up and to try and get rid of this awful dragging tiredness.
Mossy lol @ not reading enough to Bertie, I have never read to Ronnie , and I don't intend to start for a long while.

Actually it would be nigh on impossible to do as anytime he sits on my knee he starts shrieking, throwing himself backwards and searching for the boob.

I emailed my mum yesterday, telling her that I was angry and upset and why. When I got home yesterday she had replied saying that she genuinely thought the party was off because I hadn't mentioned it for a while , perfect logic.

Part of me wants to hammer home points but part of me thinks I have said my bit, made my feelings clear and should leave it be. She knows now, that should be enough. Actually inside I want to pummel her to pieces

OP posts:
bethoo · 01/01/2008 13:55

bollocks, why does dp have to go on about how much he loves me and continue being a stallion in the sack???? it will happen i assure you. once the euphoria of ny is over it is happening.
off to change smelly nappy

evenhope · 01/01/2008 16:13

Hi all and Happy 2008!

Me and DS2 went to a great party last night. He wants to drink, because he is 18, but really can't handle it I was watching him dancing to YMCA and it's so obvious he isn't NT. Bless him though he's quite happy to dance with the old ladies (including me )

DD has turned into a human tank. We call her the Armadillo . We have had to barricade the TV because she fiddles with the DVD and pulls the Sky card out. Yesterday she climbed up on her toybox, across the top and leaned down through the gap to get the card . She wasn't happy when she tumbled into the gap and got stuck!

Her other place to sit is behind the door...

kiwibella · 01/01/2008 17:31

lol at your hangovers !! Kitty... I couldn't even do it... hair of the dog .

I'm glad that you put it to your mum and that she knows that she let you down.

evenhope and your ds. 18 year olds seem so young now... but when I was 18 I was so growed-up .

No resolutions here... there is too much that I want to change. The only thing that I really want is a baby... and we are working on that!! Got my period today tho

I flicked between the three countdown shows last night but Jools really is the best!! The fireworks were absolutely spectacular... we had a good view from our place as well as all the others going off in the sky. I hope that my evening doesnt set the pace for the upcoming year

We went to Green Park today and watched the New Years day parade. Kate was in awe and lasted most of the way through. It ended up cold and wet... hope it snows this week!!

TheBlonde · 01/01/2008 18:38

I hope you get your wish kiwibella

Anyone else hoping for another?

muppetisacat · 01/01/2008 18:52
