Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Phoenix · 17/01/2008 10:40

Thank you Dh has been on nights so once he gets out of bed we're gonna go have a look in toys r us, Mothercare (although they don't have many in our store) and jjb sports see what they look like

EachPeachPearMum · 17/01/2008 13:44

I like the jjb one! (maybe cos its red like mine was?)

DontDreamItBeIt · 17/01/2008 17:08

I like the jjb one too.
I also like the twister one on the toys are us link

Sorry csws.....I'm just not getting mn tie at the moment. DP is still plastering and I spend all my tie cleaning or painting. There is still tons to do, and I'm trying to keep him motivated as he's also looking for work (Really need some moey coming in)

I'm flaking out in front of the tv, or in bed with a book in the evenings a the moment.

Phoenix · 17/01/2008 18:22

We didn't end up going trike shopping. We've spent most of the day emptying both cars and getting car insurance quotes cos we're getting new cars (we haven't won the lottery or anything we borrowed a bit extra on our mortgage and got smaller, cheaper insurance and tax cars to get our monthly outgoings down) Dh is picking his new car (peugeot 107) up tomorrow but mine (renault clio) will be a week or 2 yet

Jas - for plastering getting done. Bet its starting to look good now.

Ds is sat in the middle of the living room in his car seat ready for ITNG

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/01/2008 18:36

Will reply to rest later, but a quick aaaarrrgggghhh in advance for tonight's bedtime, as dd slept in car from 5:10 til 6:20 whilst I got lost getting home from friend's house (sat nav route v heavy traffic).

Oh, and I like this one Phoenix .

Phoenix · 17/01/2008 18:58

I know csws i looked at them. I can't justify paying £80+ for something i can get for £20-£30 and dh won't let me.

mustrunmore · 17/01/2008 19:22

Dont blame you. I regret paying £40 for our one when I could've got one for £20, or even less second hand!

Got rained on en route home today.... put clothes on radiator at 4pm.... still soaking wet now! It was torrential.

Frizbe · 17/01/2008 20:09

MRM it's slamming it down here now too, did anyone else get a whalloping thunder storm at 1pm ish? or was that just us??? Thunder in January???? and lots of lightening too eeeeeek! for you feeling all kinda wistful and blue, I go like that every now and again too, I think its just part and parcel of having kids and the reality of how much they tie you down (in a nice way iuswim)

Can't remember if my period is due, but according to dh I'm a craky cow, moooooo

for house Flame, but the next one will be for you

Phoenix, I like the JJB one too. Yay for new cars, I had some guy ring me from the Citroen garage earlier to try and flog me a new one? I laughed at him.

CSWS I think Uni's just been busy with work and visiting family Sorry I thought you may have sorted out the moving dd thing....hoping your bedtime is going better than you thought it would? Was looking at Trivial Pursuit 90's today at work and thought of you well actually I thought of the whole thread, and thought if we do another meet, I'll bring that one, so its easier for more people!

Mind you one thing I have done today, well last night is get a chap to pop around this am with some sample swatches of fabric for our dining room chairs, as they're well knackered so he's quoted me for re glueing them and upholstering them...which isn't too bad, and at least we'd be able to use the damn thing again! I'm having trouble deciding on colour and pattern though dh shouted at me for even considering getting it done, but I pointed out we can't even have people over for dinner with no where to sit, and its not like the driveway I dug up last Sept has gotten any further than a muddy paddling pool
sorry for rant....

DontDreamItBeIt · 17/01/2008 20:17

Oh, Frizbe, that last comment about the driveway sounds like me and he shed

We had a huge hail shower just before 4 when I had to go out to get dd2. She was outside playing football when it started!

I'm going out with dd2s school tomorrow. It is their trip o the science museum. I'm really looking forward to it. I missed dd1s (London Aquerium) as they didn't want me....can't imagine why, I was only 38 week pregnant!

mustrunmore · 17/01/2008 20:20

Yep, tht'll be the thunder we cme home in!
jas, look out for a security person called Matthew; he's my friend

Well, ds2 out like a light due to no nap again, but ds1 still awake, even more so now that Daddy's just gothome. He's soooo excited about his Daddy's birthday! We had to have the cake at breakfast, as dh on a middle shift so the only meal he was here for

DontDreamItBeIt · 17/01/2008 21:08

all 3 of mine are still awake. ds slept after toddler group this morning.

I needto do a long AIBU post. I don't want to do a thread because the answer is probably yes!

My friend asks me to pick up/ drop off her ds' from scool at least once a week. I almost never ask her, but we do agree swaps when we both have one at an after school culb and one not.

dp is getting cross with her phoning me at 8 to ask, and moans at me.
I took her ds' this moring, and agreed via another friend to pick them up after school. The third friend was going to keep ds2 in her car til I go there as I wasn't prepared to go and hang around in the cold when dd2 wasn't finishing early. When I got there her ds2 wasn't where he was supposed to be, I went to the classroom but door was shut by he time I'd hunted around the car park, and phoned he friend I thought should have him (no answer) and the office staff didn't know anything about me collecing him.
I eventually got through to the mum,who had decided to get them herself, and told dp, after I had already left.

Is it just bad commuication and lack of sympathy on my part (she is unwell alot, and I tend to just moan and get on with i when I am ill)? Or am I being taken advantage of?

EachPeachPearMum · 17/01/2008 21:09

We had thunder around 2pm here, and lots of howling going to sleep. She was overtired even though it was 7:10 when we put her down. She did it last night too, so maybe we're in for a rough week?

Have spent the day cleaning and tidying -woo so exciting. Sorted through all her toys, and took out all the ones that are too young. Dh had to keep her out of our room while I put them away in the closet otherwise she'd have wanted them all back never known anyone so attached to stuff...except me when I was little .
Swapped around all the books and toys in the living room, and so far she doesn't seem to have noticed stuff thats missing. Give her time though!

mustrunmore · 17/01/2008 21:24

jas, that a bit complicated to take in at this time of night But it sounds lie its partly dp's fault for not calling you on moblie to tell you not to bother. But mainly the mums fault for deciding tochange her mind at the last minute. I suppose from her point of view, you were going to get child of your own anyway, but personally I like everything to run like a well oiled machine if other people have your kids or you have theirs. I dont think ita unreasonable to have a rant about it, no
Like taday; the frist day of me having friends ds after nursery. I cant collect him, as I'd need to be at 2 nuseries at the sme time for that to happn, so another friend has agreed to pick him up and meet me at home with him. But, his nursery is 10 mins away, mine is 30 mins. And it was raining. Bug time. So she had to go to my neighbour (with the ds and her own ds) for shelter! So thenI had to go and get himn from there, so that was my 2 kids descending on poor neighbour too. And her own ds1 just wanted a bit of peace after school It'll be ok in th summer, as the picking-up friend can meet me at the park on our road. But for now, its rubbish. I donr wantt og ive her a key to our house as 2 other friends already have one as an emergency measure. Am thinking the mother of the boy might have to give us her house key, but she's a very private person, so I dont think she's be happy.

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/01/2008 21:56

Well dd's still not asleep, but she's chatting away to herself rather than screaming, so that's progress. We didn't even attempt to put her to bed until about 9:15. Gave her a bit of time to play with dh too, as he only got in at 7:45.

Last night she woke shortly after I went up, but then slept from 11 until 6:30 this morning. She then came into bed with me, fed for an hour, then went back to sleep snuggled up to me until 9:10am, when I had to get us up and ready, as I was supposed to set up toddler group today.

lol at proof-watching films - what were they?

I think I'd go for the JJB one too from your selection. Was reading an old thread of hub's on the subject last night, and the one I linked is the one he bought in the end, and was happy with. We shared views on the Mountain Buggy, so I figure we'd prob agree on something like this too.

2 new cars is very exciting Phoenix - what did you have before?

We should do another big meet up shouldn't we Friz. Would everyone be up for it in the summer? Would prob have to be late summer though, so that our building works are finished (assuming you want it here) - won't know when they should be for another couple of months or so, but hopefully not past mid August.

Trip tomorrow sounds fun Jas. The Science Museum is about the only museum I have ever enjoyed - find others very dull, as there's nothing to actually do.

Happy Birthday to Mr mrm.

Jas - I don't think YABU. It would annoy me too (both the phoning at 8 - surely she could ask the night before, and the change without letting you know with enough notice).

Well dd seems to have gone to sleep whilst I've been typing that .

mustrunmore · 17/01/2008 22:03

Whats wrong with proofwatching? They were Baise-Moi, and Irreversible. Neither were shocking enough. But at least the latter made you want to keep watching to unfurl the story. Off to ggoogle one calld Happiness; never heard of it, but am told it might ft friends bill.

Ds1 only went to sleep at 9.30ish

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/01/2008 22:16

For EPPM.

Phoenix · 17/01/2008 22:42

csws - Me citroen picasso, dh fiat stilo . The new ones are both in the low tax bracket so £35 per year

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/01/2008 22:45

£35 . Thought ours were £400, but is there really that much diff in the bands? Just checked with dh - apparently ours will be £400 (each) this year, but were £300 last year. Bravo the Government .

Phoenix · 17/01/2008 22:58

Between 101-120 CO2 emissions its £35 then it jumps to £115 think there should be somewhere in between. We've done our research

Phoenix · 17/01/2008 23:00

at £400 though

EachPeachPearMum · 17/01/2008 23:04

Blardy hell mrm- incassable and baise moi? is it any wonder you were ! not a fun evenings watching there. Couldn't have managed both in one night either 'neither were shocking enough'....???? What did you want?

csws-'fed for an hour'... eek- is this the result of chickenpox poorlyness?

Phoenix- for new cars, especially as they're actually money-saving...

Jas- not sure I understood entirely, but if you're not happy then its not right

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/01/2008 23:07

She normally feeds for 30-40 mins in the morning EPPM. The extra was, I think, because she was getting sleepy so on a bit of a go slow.

EachPeachPearMum · 17/01/2008 23:12

wow- dd's longest feed was always morning, but usually 15 mins and done. By 17 mo it was 10 mins, and that was it.

Frizbe · 17/01/2008 23:15

CSWS yep I just renewed our picasso tax at 210 for the year van to do end of this month, but good news is that today it passed its mot with nothing needing doing to it and you all saw the state of that! Still Phoenix I am also at the cost of tax difference....sob.

I'm up for a meet, but I think Aug is very bad for that, for me anyway, as we're down flames way upto the Sat of the 1st weekend, then dh in wales following weekend for event, back during week, then down there for following weekend, week and bank hols! (moi see my husband and family? cause they'll be with him!) and that's Aug just about done I'm free 5th or 19th July!

Jas I think MRM answered your question you're getting good MRM

Phoenix · 17/01/2008 23:19

Oh yeah i could do a p*ss up again (no one let me have wine if we do cos it makes me sick ) as long as it fits in with dh's shifts
