Have noticed lots of other 04 months but not June so thought I would get it going DS was born on June 17th. He is totally different to how DD was so its like starting over again! He's growing fast but seems to get very bored and frustrated at not being able to do much. He's just starting jars of baby food but tends to have a bit of a sweet tooth!! He's also a gemini and definately seems to have two personalities in there - he can stare at you and go from wobbly bottom lip/about to burst into tear to huge grin in a second!! How are other the other June babies getting on?

Oh meant to say, have enjoyed catching up on your past 'life' on mn Zebra - your name kept coming up in threads a few weeks ago for some reason!

zebra · 13/03/2005 09:20

I still don't know why it's so funny, Moonshine...

T. is a dustbin, as well. He eats pretty much constantly all day (or so it seems). Has started to scavenge his own leftovers he finds on the floor, typically several days old and would be hair encrusted if we had pets... then again, if we had a dog the dog would have eaten it.
He's standing up by himself, now.

moonshine · 16/03/2005 11:11

Well I guess it's not what most people would think of doing (although maybe they do now!)...and Zebra, you are being inducted into the MN Hall of Fame by the look of things.

Alex has been in his own room for 4 nights and it is going better than expected. I can still hear him grunting and grumbling on the monitor but he usually fusses himself to sleep after a few minutes and does not actually wake up properly until between 7-7:30am - hooray! Let's hope I haven't put the kiss of death on it.

How mobile are these babies now?? Mine has not been too interested in improving his crawling but absolutely loves cruising still and just wants to stand up all day. He's just below the 90 centile line so he's a big lad but by the way people talk about him you'd think he was officially the biggest baby in the world, poor little thing. Wish people would keep their (wrong) observations to themselves.

KVG- I think all of us bar 1 are from the Due in June 2004 thread. Good luck and enjoy.

Hi everyone
How is everyone going? just wondering what sort of things the babies are eating these days? grace is turning all fussy and doesn't want to eat anything but fruit, rice cakes with vegemite/cream cheese, toast,...... and things left laying on the floor by dd1
she is still breatfed and has about 4 feeds a day, sometimes 3 but I have no idea how much she is taking - probably 2 of those feeds are 'ubstantial' I suspect.
she is sleeping through regularly now - I am very glad. Not that she was much trouble at night as she would generally go back to sleep easily.
She can walk accross a room now and is very proud of herself. She is really cute and fun at the moment as she just wants to play and generally show off. I'm really enjoying her at teh moment - though I'm not sure if thats just because dd1 is being a terrible 2 year old ;).
So basically things are oing well and life is starting to seem 'normal' again after all the 'baby' stuff is starting to turn into 'toddler' stuff.
Moonshine - hows alex going in his own room now. I can't believe you had him with you for so long. I would have gone crazy. i know it really works for a lot of people but I'm just not one of em
Hope to hear all your news soon. xxx

karen01 · 24/03/2005 06:08

cathncait- Scott has started to become really fussy with his food, he too prefers fruit, tosat with marmite or dairylee. He still hasn't cut any teeth though. He is bum shuffling but mainly commando crawls backwards. He is still sleeping for 10-11 hours a night. And his temper has kicked in!!

CAn't believe they will soon be one it doesn't seem 5 mins ago that we were all posting saying how we only had 12 weeks to go till babs arrived!!.

Hope everyone is ok

Take care

Karen

Bogwoppit · 24/03/2005 10:09

dd finally started forward crawling last week after about 2 months of going backwards.

she mastered getting from her tummy to sitting one day then by the next she was off & away forwards.

ds's micromachines fascinate her! she'd crawl for days to reach one! She's also started pulling up on things. I can't believe yr dd is walking cathncait. - my dd looks too teeny to walk!

She's nicking more & more food off my plate now. even after I have given her her tea ( last nights left overs usually!) she is pinching mine - what a piggy.

She BF maybe 3 or 4 times a day - good feed am & pm then snacks during day.

she's still in with us as sometimes she wasnt milk in night & I am too lazy to get out of bed!

we are coping with colds & coughs at the mo & teething too. 4 teeth appeared at once at the top - so 7 in total now. looks to have 2 more on the way up top too. great when she decides to chomp me!NOT!!

sorry for being pants at posting.

Hello! ZC here - went AWOL for a bit there - back now with a new start and a new name!
Finlay is still be a lazy little sod!! He commando crawls now, very quickly!! He's not pulling himself up yet although he does love to be stood up by us and he will then 'walk ' around the room. He's still only got two teeth bless him! The last month he has been pretty much constantly poorly with colds, ear infections etc, the last few days he's been really bad and had conjunctivitus and a temp and a really nasty cough/cold so I'm knackered!! He still wakes up for milk in the night too no matter how much I feed him in the day or how late he has dinner, so he's still in our room next to the bed so I dont have to get up to give him milk lol He's getting cute though and developing a really sweet personality - he loves giving kisses which is soooo cute!! The separation anxiety is terrible though - thats been going on for a few months now and if I leave the room he screams !!! Hopefully he'll get over it soon!!
Good to be back and see what all the otherrs have been up to - got a lot of reading to do!!

cathncait · 02/04/2005 14:01

hi again
Bit quiet round here so I thought I'd better say something to inspire you :0 Well, just say something really.
Karen, I can't believe Scott still has no teeth Grace has 6 - no new ones for a bit but has been grumpy as hell the slast few days so who knows. I was glad to hear grace isn't the only one with a sweet tooth. Is Scott more willing to eat savory stuff now or still on the fruit? This may sound a bit gross but I mix fruit with graces meals so she will eat it - otherwise she just yells at me and pushes it away or flings it! She will eat savory finger foods and I try not to worry that she won't eat properly...but you know how it is

She is sooo mobile now its frightening. the other day she pushed a litle chair up to the couch (which is quite high) and climbed up. She has also found a way to climb up on the spare bed in her room ( I soon fixed that!) I think I really have to up the childproofing! dd1 wasn't quite so determind and I feel like if I look away for 5 seconds she will be on the kitchen bench or some such place! She is a handful!

karen01 · 03/04/2005 17:40

cathncait- Can't believe that Grace is so mobile. Still no teeth and strill only going backwards but manuvers hi,self around the front room quite well as keeps turning round to get towhere he wants.

He is eatoing his savoury food better I figured out last week when we went out for the day that he prefers it cold !!! rather than heated up. I feel guikty about giving him his food cold but if he is going to eat it!!!. He is still quite small he now weighs just under 18lb but is long.

Hope everyone is ok we are so quiet now.

Take care all
Karen

zebraXing · 03/04/2005 21:27

Tristan eats everything, in short, he eats almost non-stop, all of his waking time. He's still only an average size baby, and he is down to waking up just once at night for a mummy milk feed (hooray!!), but I find it exhausting to just keep feeding, & feeding, & feeding him... The boy is made of rice cakes and apple. I am wondering if I should start adding olive oil to everything, up the calories, maybe.

Crawling everywhere, pulling up, he's starting to take steps holding hands, but his main new trick is clapping. Also delights in picking up stones & grinning like a banshee until we take the stone off him before he tries to put it in his mouth. You can tell when he has one in his mouth already by the cheeky grin...

Fun to read all your posts, too.

Gomez · 04/04/2005 03:48

Hello -suffering from a bit of insomnia tonight so thought I would 'show face' so to speak. Having been much absent recently. Please to read that we are all doing okay. Bit surprised that nobody has got another on the way yet thou' - law of averages would suggest we should....

We are well- Lily has mouth full of teeth and manouvering herself all over the place- mix of crawling/bum shuffling and strange body popping thing where she tries to stand up (in the middle of the floor), gets onto knees and then sort of lunges forward In fact found her in the garden eating what we hope was mud. Finding this very strange as DD1 was not a mover/explorer at all hence no baby proofing was required. All very different second time around. No issues with food here at all - the girl will eat anything/any temperature and any texture. A current favourite being grapes - nice nappies .

Plans for new life well on the way - we have got a new house, ours is on the market and we are quite hopefully of a sale in the next week or so (3 surveys getting down start of the week so might go to closing). DD1 enrolled in school for start after the Summer - now just need to resign, get some tipped 501s out of the attic and revert to student slobdom!! Can't wait.

Been to a couple of MN meet-ups here which have been good fun - it is really funny talking about a parallel world in real world IYKWIM?

Right much try and sleep - take care all and it is nice to hear what we are all up to.

karen01 · 07/04/2005 19:00

Nice to hear from you Gomez.

Where is everybody.

Scott still has no teeth , and still crawling backwards. He does get himself sitting upright to turnaround to get to where he wants so is all over the front room, pulling out dvds and cds. When I say no to him or tap his hand he just looks at me and laughs it is sooo cute. If I stand him so that he can hold onto something then he will stand for 30sec-1min banging on whtever and shouting before trying to turn round and falling over.

swiperfox · 07/04/2005 19:40

Hi everyone - Fin has turned into a nightmare! He has learn to pull up on stuff so now does nothing but! Which means he spends a lot of time falling back and landing on his head.
His top two teeth are finally coming through - bout time! He's still 'commando' crawling but can walk a bit with a push-a-long walker/trolley thing.
Glad to see everyone else is ok

karen01 · 09/04/2005 16:58

Scott has a tooth.

cathncait · 10/04/2005 05:18

Yay Scott - that took a while didn't it!

moonshine · 11/04/2005 23:03

Hello all - my computer has been broken for weeks, sob, sob, the day after I boasted on some thread about how wonderful it was as well!

Anyway, I haven't really had a chance to do a proper catch-up, except I see Swiperfox is back (hello!), Scott finally gets a tooth (yay) and Zebra has changed her name or has several other names????

Ds has changed so much since I last posted, and a lot of it happened in the space of a week so here's a little snapshot of him:

He now does classic crawling and can really motor. He is also a superfast cruiser who has been practising his free-standing more and more but is covered in so many bruises on his forehead that I am surprised social services has not been called in.

His favourite activities, apart from touching everything and always trying to escape from the living-room once he sights a chink in the door, is pointing and saying 'dere' and other weird speech-like babble.

He loves books (hooray) and also trying to stack things and put objects into boxes, shape-sorters, open mouths etc.

He still shrieks a lot, something which was getting me so depressed a few weeks ago cos he's so loud and persistent, but it is getting better (unless he is in his highchair or in his buggy and I stop and don't take him out).

He is still a human dustbin but is getting slightly more fussy. This could be because I am now offering him such a wide range of food. He never really rejects, justs has a few mouthfuls and then clamps up if he doesn't really like it (salmon for one - not much more to be honest).

Any and all music makes him stop what he is doing and listen in rapture for a while.

My experience is also completely different from dd1. Ds is far more independent and adventurous, and getting into everything so I will have to retrain myself about safety and child-proofing my home, something I am finding impossible with mischievous (sp??) pre-schooler around.

I know, I know, enough already but haven't posted anywhere for weeks so please excuse slight self-indulgence.

moonshine · 11/04/2005 23:39

Oh just have to add he has been sleeping through the night since being in his own room, although he does get up a little too early for my liking (between 6:30-6:45am usually) but hey, can't complain too much considering what it used to be like.

And he has 6 teeth.

karen01 · 12/04/2005 06:16

HI moonshine, Glad your pc is fixed.

Scott is now crawling forwards in a fashion, as he is going forward he is trying to stand so ends up going forward a bit then falling on his face. He is managing to get all over the front room. Our puppy just looks now and stays in the front room a bit then either goes to lie in the kitchen or in the garden away from Scott. I am lucky in that the pup is only 6 months old but realises that she can't play with Scott as she does DD and \DH. She doesn't even pllay with me that roughly, which is good as her head hight is already to the middle of my thigh!!

karen01 · 12/04/2005 06:17

ment good that she knows not to play with Scott .!!

Xzebra · 12/04/2005 06:31

After many false proclamations, T. finally has a 3rd (and 4th) tooth poking thru.

Almost nowt else to report, really! Nights are much better, which is good.

karen01 · 21/04/2005 13:08

Scott is now crawling properly bless him, better late than never.

He has cut somemore teeth, he has just cut is other bottom front one and one of his fangs (as I call them) on his top, it looks really weired as he only has the fang on the top at the moment, the 4-5 teeth nest to his fangs are all ready to come you can really see them so I reckon within the next two weeks they will all be through bless him.

Where is everyone I am starting to feel like a loner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

swiperfox · 21/04/2005 13:28

HiyaKaren There'll be no stopping Scott now he's off crawling!!

Fin is still commando crawling but bloody fast!! His top two teeth are halfway through at last.

His separation anxiety is not getting any better at all and is driving me insane - he screams the house down whenever we leave the room. Wish he'd hurry up and get over that one.
He's also started fighting for toys with dd which is quite funny til they start getting violent! He pushed her so hard the other day she fell right over!!

swiperfox · 21/04/2005 13:30

Ooh forgot to say, do any of you have first birthday plans?

Can you believe they are nearly one already?? It's flown by
