Have noticed lots of other 04 months but not June so thought I would get it going DS was born on June 17th. He is totally different to how DD was so its like starting over again! He's growing fast but seems to get very bored and frustrated at not being able to do much. He's just starting jars of baby food but tends to have a bit of a sweet tooth!! He's also a gemini and definately seems to have two personalities in there - he can stare at you and go from wobbly bottom lip/about to burst into tear to huge grin in a second!! How are other the other June babies getting on?

Hi everyone
sorry for not posting for so long. Had soooo much trouble with our internet connection - made me crazy. Suddenly I had no life - a bit sad I know.
Gracie is going great - a real little character, really cheeky and very determind. and funny. She gives kisses now - has done for a while (open mouth of course - a bit scary but so lovely) and growls like a lion and pretends to cough a lot. All of which amuses us all immensely which encourages her.
So there must be some birthdays beginning to come up soon? Can't believe they're all nearly 1! Is anyone/veryone having partys or anything? I think we will, mainly because we did for dd1. But won't be much - just an afternoon tea with a cake with close friends and family.
I just realised tha someone already asked about birthday partys so sory didn't read properly.
Catch you soon - well, probably not that soon as we are a quiet bunch.

swiperfox · 20/05/2005 16:39

hopefully here is the little monkey in question!!

karen01 · 20/05/2005 20:03

SF- He is lovely.

Scott is coming on leaps and bopunds now very funny and mischievous, his new thing is to get to the dogs bowl whilst she is eating and steal it from her, she just looks at us athen waits for him to be memoved. He also likes splashing in her water bowl.!! The waeather here at the moment is boiling we are already getting tempreatures of 37degrees during the day and 27 at night. mAybe that is why he is splashing in the dogs water bowl. nothing planned yet for his birthday. The week before we are flying to the UK to suprise my Grandma anfd Grandad as it is there 50th wedding anniversary I told them last week whilst they were here visiting that we would not be coming home for the party as it was too expensive. Can't wait to see there faces when we walk in.

foolysh · 20/05/2005 21:53

(was zebra here...) Awwww... swiper.

moonshine · 20/05/2005 23:15

Ah, cute Swiper! And you have the buggy we had with dd1! It was well used and loved until we 'retired' it when ds came along.

Karen - far too hot for me! I am useless in hot weather and am not hoping for a heatwave here.

Alex seems to have started the terrible twos already! He has screaming fits, so I just let him lie on the floor flailing away and try to ignore him. But on the cute side, he says quack quack (well qack qack but close enough) whenever he sees a duck or pushes his little duck around in a toy car. He has also started saying baa and cluck. The past 2 days he has also really been trying to perfect his walking and can now toddle across the room!

We are being mean parents and not doing anything for his birthday, hee hee.

Gomez · 20/05/2005 23:18

Hello - cute babies all round.

Lily is not walking but is talking up a storm. Looking cute and we are having a huge party for her 1st!

Aside from that all is well like everyone else I can't believe that 1 year has passed.

Shall we start a new thread to celebrate a new year?

moonshine · 20/05/2005 23:23

Hello stranger! Ah yes a new thread to wave goodbye to babydom and hello to the new toddlers on the block.

Gomez · 20/05/2005 23:25

Sorry!

moonshine · 20/05/2005 23:27

What for?

Gomez · 20/05/2005 23:34

Being a stranger, no loyalty points for me.

In my defence nothing seems to be happening then I pop in to find everybody has posted about 3 days before. we have always been crap on this thread thou'.

moonshine · 20/05/2005 23:38

Slap your wrist! Not getting at you btw, know what you mean about the thread. Now have you seen the new June usurpers - where do they get the energy to be pregnant and chat so much???

Gomez · 20/05/2005 23:40

Buggered if I know, whipper snappers that they are. Just wait until July, hee hee.

swiperfox · 21/05/2005 21:17

Blimey where did you lot suddenly spring from??

Glad you mentioned the buggy moonshine - has just reminded me to tell dp we need to get a new one tomorrow!! That Maclaren has been through 3 kids and there's no rubber left on the wheels!!!

Am definately up for starting a 'Happy Birthday June Babies' thread (although still in denial that he's gonna be one!!)

cathncait · 22/05/2005 05:50

I know what you mean SF - they should not be allowed to turn one! surely they can be babies just a little bit longer

Well, this is very VERY late update, I've just checked below, and I haven't posted since just before Christmas...
To be honest, I found I was hiding from stuff I should've been getting on with by lurking and posting here. Mind you it's taken me another 6 months after that realisation to really feel I'm starting to get my sh** together! When I last posted dd (Ava) was going to see a specialist about her head shape - well, she did have to have a helmet & has been sporting a rather natty see-through acrylic little number ever since. The good thing is she took to it really easily, & it's no bother for her at all, although it gets a wee bit sweaty in the hot weather. It's good for head-butting her cousins - which, of course, I discourage as much as possible! They'll keep it on as long as it keeps working. She's got 2 teeth - finally - only came last month. She's standing & pulling up on anything she can. Chatting away 10 to the dozen with occasional 'almost-words' in there. Likes singing, giggling, emptying waste paper baskets, destroying tissues, pulling over her nappy bucket (TWICE on Monday, grrrrr!). Just stopped screaming blue murder every time you put her on the changing table, or try to dress her - that little phase lasted a very long 3 weeks! Loves swings, roundabouts, dogs, bigger children. Very good at pointing & knowing exactly what she wants, eats everything in sight, especially whatever anyone else is having. In short, she's entirely gorgeous & delightful & it just keeps getting better all the time, doesn't it?!
And she's been here nearly a year - how amazing is that?
Once in a while I get those sudden moments of 'how on earth did you get here? And where did you come from?' but it's always paired with 'And I'm SO GLAD you're here!'
So just to say, thanks to you all for help, support and chat you all provided in this 1st year, and sorry I haven't been on at all lately, but it really meant so much to me to have you there in those 1st few mad, mad months.
xoxoxoxo

karen01 · 25/05/2005 16:57

xenawp- Glad everything is ok and welcome back

karen01 · 26/05/2005 18:27

Comeon ladies I feel like I am the inly June 2004 mum on here sometimes. Or is that because OI am a bored housewife now and nothing better to do
Scott is a proper little character now and doesn't sit still for 2 seconds. Stil not walking yet though buut getting steadier at standing by the day.

Cooperoo · 29/05/2005 11:31

Hello crashing thread I am afraid with a message for Karen01.
Just wanted to say I think I know who your Aunty is now. My DH pointed her out to me at the ball on Friday. I think she looks a bit like you. She had her hair up like you in your wedding photo so that may have had something to do with it. Had I been drunk I may well have said hello but I saved her that. We all had a great time. Hope you are well.

karen01 · 29/05/2005 18:12

Coopperoo- I have answered you on the other thread. we are in Akrotiri tommorrow and tuesday. Going for the Rugby and also going to go to the water park on tuesday.

moonshine · 30/05/2005 21:36

Welcome back XenaWP!

Lol Karen - think we've tried resuscitation too many times on this thread for it to change really - I do dip in quite a bit but must admit to not post as much as I could for reasons I've probably said several times before, so I wo't bore you again.

Alex is getting quite confident at walking inside but not very brave outside yet. Probably quite a good job as his face has continually been covered in bruises since he was about 8 months old. He's quite brave in some ways but very scared of quite a few stuffed toys and dd's hobby horse - ah bless! And he is still very much a mummy's boy!

I say roll on toddlerdom, can't wait (despite dd's half hour tantrum before bed today - why are both my los so loud!)

moonshine · 31/05/2005 23:16

Ok all, have started a new birthday thread, so shall we draw a line under this one?
