Have noticed lots of other 04 months but not June so thought I would get it going DS was born on June 17th. He is totally different to how DD was so its like starting over again! He's growing fast but seems to get very bored and frustrated at not being able to do much. He's just starting jars of baby food but tends to have a bit of a sweet tooth!! He's also a gemini and definately seems to have two personalities in there - he can stare at you and go from wobbly bottom lip/about to burst into tear to huge grin in a second!! How are other the other June babies getting on?

hi sf, Scott was fighting for toys at clinic the other morning all the other babies were 7months and 91/2months it was funny watching them all, crawling around after the toys.

moonshine · 21/04/2005 21:25

Crikey - won't be long before we have to call them toddlers and not babies - I was going to add a sob sob there but actually I'm looking forward to it. We don't have any special 1st birthday plans yet - probably will be low key and save the parties and big pressies until he's older. Dd is 4 in about 3 weeks time so am putting my efforts into that!

Alex nearly has tooth no 7 through. He's changed some more these past few days. The honeymoon is well and truly over in respect of food as he has suddenly become quite fussy and so I have to start from scratch again and find out what he will eat. He also has a steely determination about him already and just will not back down if he wants something or wants to get into a cupboard. I think the terrible twos will start very very early for us!

Must say though that the separation anxiety came and went quite quickly for him, it seems. He is very close to starting to walk I think but who knows, sometimes they seem to be going for it and then stop don't they?

He also says that, this (sort of) and there! Yes he is definitely going to be trouble...

Moonshine- I have decided I have a very lazy boy. He will say mam, baba but that is about it and he only ever includes the words whilst shouting babble, must go friend just popped in for a coffee.

Fin is turning into more of a looney by the day! He's so funny. He's learnt to wave over the last week or so and does it all the time now. Also he loves doing 'row row row your boat' and as soon as you hold his hands he rocks so that we sing it - and on the second verse 'If you see a crocodile dont forget to scream' he screams right on cue
He learnt to kiss as well about a month ago which i forgot about !! It's more of a big wet snog than a kiss but the thought is there!!

moonshine · 25/04/2005 20:56

Swiperfox are you ok? I saw your other thread but was in a hurry and can't find it now. I feel very like you do! Don't know why cos I have found the past few months really really hard and don't know if I could go through all that young baby stuff again - but there's a madness that has taken hold of me! Alex is very like Fin - he loves Row Row and does the screaming thing (but that is his speciality).

Mind you he has stopped SCREAMING quite so much. And the way he now interacts with dd is so lovely. She 'read' loads of books to him today and he sat there enraptured. But he's definitely helping to shift some of my flab as I spend a fair amount of time chasing and/or grabbing him away from things.

Those of you with a slightly older child as well, do you manage to do any activities with the older one? I just cannot do any crafts stuff/play-dough, well anything really with dd as ds won't let us and he is not one that can be pacified with some toys in his highchair or whereever?

swiperfox · 26/04/2005 13:23

Hiya - I'm ok thanks Just have been thinking about getting rid of the baby stuff for extra cash and every time i think about it i chicken out!! I would love another (2) but I know it'd send me mad!!

I don't get any time really to do proper activities with DD (she's 3.4) and it really bugs me. We bought some wooden models to make and paint last weekend but every two minutes Fin was up at the table trying to grab stuff from her - she got stroppy, i got stroppy he laughed at us and we got no-where!

moonshine · 26/04/2005 22:06

Snap swiperfox! Could do with the extra room and more cash but I panic every time I think of getting rid of everything. I think I need to set myself some kind of time limit to ponder on it and then make the decision. And then stick to it with no regrets!

Karen - how are you feeling? Still want to have another baby soon? Can't believe no-one is pregnant again yet.

karen01 · 27/04/2005 07:09

moonshine- I am in two minds but now slowly going of the idea. As with DH being in the army the we will only be given 3 bedroomed houses . If I was guarenteed another boy that would be ok but don't think dd would be happy about sharing. I have just advertised all of Scotts baby things to sell. If i get no response within 2 weeks then I will just keep everything incase

zebraX · 29/04/2005 20:07

Play with the older child, Moonshine (hahahahahahahaha...)

God forbid it better not be me who gets pregnant again.

Karen01 -- is your DH set on staying in the military long-term? Things might change, you never know.

Tristan is cruising everywhere, will take a few steps holding my hand, sometimes he forgets & tries to step on his own but falls down instantly. If he had more confidence (like DS1) or demanded me to hold his hand (like DD) he could walk everywhere, but he's not ready. No words, either.

I think I might manage to persuade DH to make a cake for T's birthday, that will be about it. Poor chappie has a stonking cold & 3 top teeth that are taking forever to cut... He just wants mummy milk all the time, getting antibodies I guess.

karen01 · 30/04/2005 20:05

Zebrax- My DH has another 11 years leaft and he will serve them he is green through and through, if he gets his way he will extend his service aswell.

All of Scotts things have gone now his bedroom looks really bare bless him, have ordered his new stuff so hopefully that should be here in a week or so.

moonshine · 03/05/2005 21:20

But Karen - what do people with big families do?? Or do they not normally exist?

Ok guys, what are you getting your los for their first birthdays? Are they making do with stuff from siblings or are they getting their own brand-spanking new presents?

karen01 · 05/05/2005 20:02

Moonshine- I think worded ot wrong, If I was guaranteed a boy then that would be brill as Scoff and baba could share, but Nicole would be mortified if she had to share with her baby sister, which I expect as she would be at the earliest coming up for 10 when babs was born so I couldn't really put a 3 year old in a room with a stroppy 13year old, not mention Nicoles make up jewlery and most importantly privacey.

Or am I just being a SNOB!!! ( the later is probably correct )

Think we are getting Scott garden toys as he doesn't need anymore for inside.

zebraX · 05/05/2005 21:27

Tristan has been taking tiny little steps on his own, latida-da....!

First birthday -- I'll try to manage a cake, which is probably more than the others got for their 1st bdays, tbh.

moonshine · 05/05/2005 22:03

karen - agree with youre sharing. I won't make ds share with dd. Don't think he'd appreciate dd's Princess obsession tbh (although I'm sure it will be something else soon).

Alex also started taking his first steps proper on 1st May and today he made a dash for the middle of the room. He made it but then landed smack on his nose, poor thing. He's also got the most stubborn tooth that has been at the surface forever but will just not cut through.

Dare I say it again really quietly this time, where are all those other June babies. Had Cathncait's dd run her first marathon yet?

karen01 · 06/05/2005 20:40

Scott has just started to make a tiny attempt at walking with his push alongs. He can't seem to grasp that both feet have to move so he looks like he will end up in the splits bless him. He does a better attemot if I hold hi hands up but he not ready to walk on his own yet. He will stand at some of his toys for about 10 minutes though so his legs are getting stronger

zebraX · 08/05/2005 20:33

Have you ladies found anything odd in the toilet? T. drops stuff in if we forget to leave the seat down. So far we have found wooden blocks & a red train... all sorts. Usually alerted to them being there after one of my other children has been for a wee. Yet another item to fish out & rinse off in scalding hot water. [disgusted smiley here]

moonshine · 08/05/2005 21:17

Thankfully I have not had to fish anything out the toilet yet - well apart from Alex's hand. He also loves unravelling the toilet paper a la Andrex puppy.

Poor chap has had a cold and cough, has finally cut 2 teeth today, but is in agony, and had a tummy bug last night/tonight and has puked for the first time . He's been screaming all day but tonight was finally smiling and keeping his milk down (hopefully!). Why does baby sick get into places you wouldn't imagine it could and smell so much worse than anything else?

At least there has been a breakthrough at mealtimes - for 2 days' running he has not dropped his cup of water on the floor every 5 seconds.

zebraX · 08/05/2005 21:38

T. was handing us stuff tonite, and knocking over towers of blocks that we built. He is really trying to "play" in and among, with his siblings, too. He's so sociable. It's very sweet. Are the other babies pointing, yet? T. isn't.

swiperfox · 08/05/2005 21:57

Hi guys - can't believe some of them are walking already! Fin is still 'cruising' and still wobbly and prone to falling backwards but getting better. He can do a few steps on his push-a-long walker thing but can't stand on his own yet. Saying that he refuses to sit anymore, he has to be standing up all day long or he screams!! He's getting chatty and he constantly looks at things and says 'Oh!' in a little high pitched voice like it's something amazing he'sd just found
Still very clingy and into the separation anxiety thing which is still driving me mad - he's been doing it for months now - some days i have to just say to him "Leave me alone!!!" Bless him!!

moonshine · 08/05/2005 22:03

Alex is clingy when ill but otherwise can't wait to get away from me and cause mischief I think. He's also been pointing for a few weeks - in fact it's one of his favourite activities to point everything out to me.

When do we stop calling them babies then? Personally am glad to be coming out of the baby-dom era although I know the tantrums are just waiting round the corner....

swiperfox · 08/05/2005 22:11

I think Fin has grown up from a tiny baby waaaay too quick!! Probably because i think we aren't going to have anymore - i wanted to hold onto the baby for a bit longer!! He looks like such a little man now though. I got some pics developed the other day - some from January and some from last weekend and I couldn't believe how much he has changed and 'grown up' in four months

moonshine · 08/05/2005 22:14

Ah but bet he's still got those tiny baby toes and chubby baby thighs. Alex has particularly squidgy thighs and a marshmallow tummy.

swiperfox · 19/05/2005 18:53

Have come to add Fin's latest tricks! Was thinking of printing this out when he's one and keeping his first year!

He was 11 months on 17th. Only 1 more month to go!!
He started clapping on Wednesday - finally!! Been trying to get him to do it for ages lol. He's been waving for about a month as well (have i said that before?!) He also suddenly decided on Sunday night to crawl properly on his knees instead of 'commando' - although he soon forgor again and now alternates between the two.

He is getting cheekier by the day and 'shouts' at us now!

swiperfox · 20/05/2005 09:48

And this morning he stood by himself for about 10 seconds lol
