"Mummy loves me
(but she hates ironing)
(and is addicted to MN)"

NorthernLurker · 19/11/2007 19:10

'and can surf with one hand and b/feed with the other'

PinionsAndHerPumpkinClub · 19/11/2007 19:19

SPB is really a big hairy trucker called Dave so in theory should not be ironing anyway.

Actually that's fairly sexist.

Right I am not here. I am ironing.

normabutty · 19/11/2007 19:19

ok, I'm back and haven't caught up yet so apologies for no personals again!

Had a nice weekend but Erin's teeth are bothering her again a bit. She's been v wingey today.

Am getting a bit confused by all my pressies (2 secret santas, an extra pressie for someone else and a few bits for me...tho I just kept adding loads of stuff) and have bought lots but not sure what it's all for . I shall have to sit down and sort stuff into piles or something.

PinionsAndHerPumpkinClub · 19/11/2007 19:23

Not fair I want to be norma's somebody else.

Right I am not here. I am ironing.

PinionsAndHerPumpkinClub · 19/11/2007 19:47

From this very second I am logging off the internet and doing the damned ironing!!!!!!!!

Sexonlegs · 19/11/2007 19:48

God, can I have one of those T shirts as well please!? I hate ironing with a passion.

Nutty, good to see you. Hope you sort your pressies out!

KHIN, hope you and yours can be homed together soon! Must be a nightmare. My dad sounds a bit like your dad. Mum runs around like a mad thing whilst dad reads the paper or surfs the internet! I love him to bits, but it does annoy me!!

cazboldy, did you say you bought some baby weighing scales from TX Maxx???

x

NorthernLurker · 19/11/2007 19:49

sol - will i get shouted at if i suggest you use an iron for ironing not a passion

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2007 19:52

well, we are about to put the chicken pox theory to the test here too, Joe is really ill, raging temperature, and today Nursery announced that there is Pox doing the rounds. Been to the doc as had made appointment already, she thinks that it is unlikely it is pox as it would usually come out within 48 hours and it's now been 72, but tonight will tell..............

NorthernLurker · 19/11/2007 19:53

poor little joe - poor little potc as well

Sexonlegs · 19/11/2007 20:04

Ha ha NL, is that where I have been going wrong!? Too passionate for my own good eh??

POTC, poor Joe, what a nightmare. How high is his temperature? Has he got any other symptoms? I remember when B was little, she had a really high temp for a few days and then came out in a rash. I think it was called roseola infantum?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2007 20:36

just the cough he's had for weeks now, doc was happy that his chest is clear so cough nothing to worry about

poor little Joe my arse, he's grizzly for me, go to nursery or doctor or gran and he spends the entire time grinning at whichever female it is

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 19/11/2007 20:37

Oh POTC! B used to do that, and I would feel like such a fraud!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2007 20:42

I was trying to be a good mummy and took the day off to care for him, took m to nursery as docs don't open til 8.30, Joe really horrid before we leave house, won't stop crying, hot. get to nursery, they ask why I'm not leaving him. he's ill. is he? doesn't look it to us! they convinced me to leave him and promised to call if he needed me!

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 19/11/2007 20:51

wow potc - joe must be their absolute favourite baby if they want to look after him when he's potentially grotty! And who can blame them April (and March/May) babies are the best

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2007 20:54

my baby is a star

and they are lovely girls, good friends to me sometimes too. they reasoned that whatever he has he caught there last week, and therefore it was pointless keeping him away as the germs were already around

elkiedee · 19/11/2007 20:57

Ironing? What's that? My mum ironed some of D's clothes when we last stayed there but I decided that the woman who wrote the baby book from the library which says that you shouldn't have to be ironing baby clothes speaks sense. Guess I'll have to learn to iron when D starts school.

KHIN and Oooggs, was thinking of you both today as someone brought her 7 week old twins into Jolly Babies. She has a daughter who's not yet quite 2 as well, but the older child is going to nursery two days a week. She has someone (not the same person all the time) come to help her out at bath and bed though every night. I wondered how you two and my colleague (dd1 born in August 2005, twins in April 2007) all cope.

WB nutty.

NL, well done for making such nice treat for your dc's playdate.

elkiedee · 19/11/2007 21:01

POTC, your nursery sounds great. And it sounds like Joe is an outgoing little creature - wants to be out and out charming everyone. D saves his best grizzles for me too. Hope your J feels better soon, and you always sound like a terrific mummy to me, by the way.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/11/2007 21:04

aww thank you

I'm not, but am obviously doing a good job of pretending

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 19/11/2007 21:38

Thanks Elkie - it felt good to expand my repertoire - usually get fishcakes from M&S

POTC - you can't fool us - we know you are a lovely mummy!

NorthernLurker · 19/11/2007 21:42

OH B is miserable tonight - put her upstairs at 8.30 - she kicked off and didn't settle. Downstairs - offered milk and had a cuddle - back upstairs at 9 - fairly quiet for 20 mins then kicked off. Just been in AGAIN - not top level screaming - but not cutting it out either Have no idea what's wrong - is it worth trying to fight the calpol down her?

weeonion · 19/11/2007 21:42

hi folks. how are you all??
dark, dank wet night here. i am already dreaming of c's first snow!!

poor eddas & potc with poxed babies. x

had a lovely day today - swimming forst then coffee with gmm (&some other palsd and dp) and then coffee with nct group - who now seem to be in the stages of competitveness ("oh little such n such is now walking" "you think that is good - well such& such has been leapfrogging across the room" "oh is that all - Such&such is already in trainign for teh commonwealth"
if its not about movement - its about teeth, if it aint teeth - then it s food and amounts, if not that - its hours slept - ARGHHHHHHHHH
why cant we just let babies do things at their own paces. they will grow up and leave us soon enough.

sorry rant over.
days are tough but i just want to ejoy as she is - without wishing her life away.

Sexonlegs · 19/11/2007 21:43
