Holly! Well done to DS. Bloody hell that's early.

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 30/11/2007 13:50

Ohh Foxy...I've got an IKEA trip tonight as well....not that late I hope....need a length of plinth....was supposed to go the other evening but a pile up by Lakeside meant a 12 mile Q....

My DH has just come home with imodium and milk ....so I can have a cuppa and keep it there I hope

Oh Daisy....how odd about the e-mail ....I've just had a job offer from Malaysia to do customer services in Western Union branches ....not really my specialty....and the e-mail came through my work account....very secure then

How are you feeling Daisy? Went on NHS Direct earlier and Norovirus (which is doing the rounds atm and prob what we have) is on the home page as they've had so many calls about it. DD seems to have escaped so far but then I'm being anal (pardon the pun) about cleaning the loo / me / everything before I go near her....all her poos have been nice and solid today.....hmmmm loverly!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 30/11/2007 13:52

Glad you are on the mend Norty. Sure you want to be doing Ikea tonight?

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 30/11/2007 13:54

Don't really have a lot of choice as its last day on the kitchen (I bloody hope)....will keep away from the Swedish meatballs though

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 30/11/2007 13:57

Daisy and LMN hope you are feeling better. I always find ready salted crisps are a good thing to eat when sick as are boiled eggs (that was all I ate when pg with dd)! I really send my sympathies you poor things.

He only started crawling weds and was like a lunatic at toddler group yesterday! There are 3 other babies there and they are all girls with lots of hair...he kept crawling up to them and pulling it! Norty little boy!

I am v excited. Planning permission has just been granted for an Ikea in Southampton. They started building it last week. I can walk to it in about 20 mins! Can't wait!

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 30/11/2007 13:59

Well done foxy! Glad you're feeling a bit better Norty, and at late night ikea trips.

DS can't quite crawl but is desperately trying - lots of rocking and reaching forward then shouts of frustration when he can't do it. He can roll both ways and swivel around on his belly though so he usually gives up and gets what he wants that way, or shouts until his sister or I give in and get it for him. How can he be so manipulative already

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 30/11/2007 14:02

By the time you've done it a couple of times Holly, it won't be exciting! It's bloody irritating walking around the whole bloody place for one or two things.....

I have to say the quality of the kitchen is fab.....we got everything we ordered and nothing was damaged...which is a bit amazing....its our fault we didn't order enough plinth....and you can get a full refund on anything we don't use.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 30/11/2007 14:03

Ds was like that until a couple of days ago fairy. It is a PITA because he can get lots of things he is not supposed to, but he tires himself out really quickly so sleeps more, which is good!

OP posts:
DaisyNightingale · 30/11/2007 14:03

I'm not too bad....feel sick after eating, but no bodily eruptions from either end today

Well done to young W You'll have your work cut out now holly....think of the extra calories used chasing after your marauding train!!

DD can nearly get up on her knees, but is still at the shooting backwards stage if she applies any effort. She is sitting unsupported now, and trying to bum shuffle. And I have a strong suspicion she can roll full circle, but I haven't actually seen it yet.

No spam from MN. I'd re-registered with a different e-mail address to discuss a rather sensitive issue, then forgot about it. I'm so bloody absent minded and forgetful....am seriously worrying about early onset dementia!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 30/11/2007 14:05

We were going to get our kitchen done really soon norty, but I think we'll wait a few months til we can get an Ikea one. Everyone I hae spoken to with an Ikea kitchen says how great it is.

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 30/11/2007 14:05

Daisy....that's the sort of thing I would do....

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 30/11/2007 14:08

don't say that Holly, dd walked 6 weeks after starting crawling..... don't think ds will be as quick though because dd was a skinny little thing so could easily pull herself up, wheras ds is a pudger

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 30/11/2007 14:08

Well so far Holly it's very good. The doors are solid wood which is why we went there plus they do the tall wall units (and built in microwave). Didn't get their appliances though, or worktop....but our fitter is happy with it as well.

Well done on DS crawling....DD can't even sit up properly on her own yet...although she loves standing.

Ooops DD woken up....later x

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 30/11/2007 14:08

Well done on the lack of bodily eruptions daisy!

Ds can sit for about 30 secs, but then lunges forwards and lies down on his tummy. He is not interested at all in sitting. It's so funny how all babies are so different. Dd could sit for about 30 mins at this age, but couldn't move much at all. I think she was only just rolling.

OP posts:
annobalthebignosereindeer · 30/11/2007 14:13

DS will sit for about 10 secs but then topple forward. DS1&2 weren't crawling until about a year and didn't walk until they were 16/17 mths so I'm not expecting this one to start moving any time soon...

DaisyNightingale · 30/11/2007 14:16

I discussed my shocking forgetfulness/absent mindedness and my ability to drift off in the middle of a coversation with the doctor......all signs of underactive thyroid...as are muscle/joint pain (I can't walk when I get out of bed), hence thyroid tests next week.

If I do have an underactive thyroid and they put me on medication, will the weight just fall off? or should i just accept that I'm fat cos I eat too many pies?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 30/11/2007 14:19

Daisy it should do but then the medication may just balance things out. A friend of mine had an overactive thyroid and lost loads of weight (her eyes also bulged out and she seemed like she had drunk too much caffeine constantly which was a bit scarey)

foxythesnowman · 30/11/2007 14:21

Blardy hell, Daisy, you are in the wars . Hope you are OK.

Crawling? WTF? is it that time already?

Have deliberately not put dd2 on her tum. No need to encourage that sort of behaviour!

Went and got her high-chair last night. All seems a bit prem though.

Do you think I have issues with her growning up?

Annobal, I have done the most boring presents . PJs and fleeces all round. My brain started to hurt from all the internet shopping so I thought 'sod it' and did a big M&S shop.

There was a fab thread on here a little while ago about good internet christmas shops. i'll see if I can find it. Had some great websites on it.

foxythesnowman · 30/11/2007 14:22

growning up?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 30/11/2007 14:29

Daisy, my friend also swore by fish oils for joint pain and forgetfulness. Hope all is okay

Thanks Foxy!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 30/11/2007 14:34

Check you lot out with your christmas shopping! I have half of dd's and that's it! I know what I'm gonna get dp, but I haven't a clue about anyone else. My dad is the hardest person in the whole world to buy for AND it's his birthday tomorrow...so that's 2 presents to buy for him.

I tried not to encourage the crawling, but it didn't work. I am now feeling a little bit ! I want an ickle tiny baby!
