Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NorthernLurker · 11/11/2007 22:34

Oh yes that was the other thing - maternity leave - I'm off till mid march but then have annual leave to use up which will take me up to end of April/very early May.

oooggs · 12/11/2007 06:56

Morning, well EWrin slept til 5am then came in with us and slept more (didn't want milk ) Jack woke at 6am drank a bottle and played.

But I was in bed with ds1 from 3-4.30am as he was having nightmares.

Anyone want my children overnight/weekend/6 weeks school holidays??????????????

liath · 12/11/2007 07:34

Blooming typical isn't it Oooggs - on the rare occasions we get a good night with ds then dd has nightmares and screaming habdabs......

However last night he went down at 6pm, dream feed at 11pm then up at 6.30am - his best night EVER.

Everyone's photos are gorgeous, April babies are definitely the yummiest! I've done a calendar for grandparents/great grandparents with photos of my two and my sisters' kids - cheesy but very cute!

StealthPolarBear · 12/11/2007 08:26

Morning everyone!
NorthernLurker, do you definitely have older DCs?
STrange question I know sorry! Just, if you don't I think you might be one of my friends.
She's an NHS Manager (I work with her), with a DD about the same as as my DS. She obviously lives in the north (as I do). She is on ML until March and then using AL to take her through to late April/early May.

Idreamofchocolate · 12/11/2007 09:30

Hello, long time no post, where is the time going? Have caught up a little with Ryvitas (how?), weekends away, underwires, new photos (Dippy, GMM, NL.....all very, very cute).

Well things plodding along pretty much the same here. House now for sale, can't even remotely find anything we like (except for house we can't actually afford). If we popped over the county border to Berkshire or Hampshire we'd be laughing as there are tonnes of gorgeous houses well within our price range, but in Surrey? Oh no. It's total pants, and we're already considering giving up all this nonsense and just having a nice holiday instead.

We've been plagued by illness - S had a dreadful cold, swiftly followed by me getting it, and E just sort of getting a nasty cough. Then on Sat night we starting throwing up, and ended up having to call a Dr round here to give me an injection to stop me vomiting as it wasn't going to stop on its own. So still feel like shite, gotta clean & tidy the house as I was out of action yesterday and it doesn't seem to have the same je ne sais quoi when dh has been in charge for the day.

Farking Implanon implant appears to be driving me to distraction - have had a constant headache since it was installed, and had had a period for the last 2 weeks....it's gotta go!!!!

Apart from all that, all is OK

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 12/11/2007 10:17

Morning

Ernie feeding every couple of hours at night again - have yet to get dressed today! (mum took boys to school and has done all my ironing )

For all the nappy folk - I have done a mammoth post on THE BIGGEST NAPPY SALE EVER! My new large fuzzis have just arrived and am very excited but do need to pay for them!

Have a nice day all xxxx

NorthernLurker · 12/11/2007 10:18

SPB - sorry yes I do definately have older children - all girls, 9 and 6. The parallels with your friend are certainly striking though! I'm a bit further south than you - York area.

IDOC - sympathy with the illness - it is grim isn't it. I think you need to rest today though Also re house buying - I hear your pain! WE are slightly different in that we have found the house we want but need to sell ours have had one buyer change their mind after 10 days already. But BIG NEWS ALERT today I have had an acceptable offer made buuuuuut they need to sell their house first Still further on than we were last week! It is exhausting though.
Liath - well done on the good night. B was a bit hard to settle around midnight - put her down on her tummy in the end as she is now big enough to roll back and forth herself anyway. Then she slept till 4.30 when she grizzled a bit, took her in bed with me and she went back to sleep without a feed (had some at 11.30pm) till 7 - so maybe just maybe I won't be demanding my money back
Yet.

NorthernLurker · 12/11/2007 10:19

Turkey - can I borrow your mum

For the ironing - I don't mind the school run

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 12/11/2007 10:24

Yes absolutely! Sure she won't mind doing yours - she actually enjoys ironing

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 12/11/2007 10:24

well done with the offer btw - fab news

NorthernLurker · 12/11/2007 10:29

iT is quite exciting - just hope they can sell theirs quickly - thing is they were the first people to come round who I actually liked!

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 12/11/2007 10:30

NL - we nearly move last year - gaev up in the end as I found it all too stressful.

Idreamofchocolate · 12/11/2007 10:31

Ooo yes, someone to do the ironing...[dreamy face]

NL - house buying/selling is a nightmare isn't it. Hope you manage to secure the place you want. Will you accept the offer do you think? Are the people you're buying from putting any pressure on you?

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2007 10:35

Goodness, IDOC - soundsl ike you have had a rough old time recently honey. Glad you are all feeling better now though - really hoping you find your dream (ish) home soon - we had to compromise a lot when we bought this place last Dec ...... it is lovely and spacious; but in a bit of a rough area and it's not as "period house" as I would like - I'd much prefer something Victorian (fussy mare, eh!!? ) Hope house stuff sorts for you too, NL.

Have a friend coming over this pm, haven't seen her in yonks, so that will be nice - hope the girls are good as she isn't really a "child friendly" sort of person, iykwim!!?

StealthPolarBear · 12/11/2007 10:36

Wow we all seem to be house moving at the moment! House buying / selling vibes to those who need them!

NorthernLurker · 12/11/2007 10:43

If they sold their house then the offer would ok - till then we're still on the market. The vendors of the house we want have been ok - tbh I think we were the only decent offer they've had - hope so anyway! I can see that the house we want wouldn't suit everyone but it's perfect for us and so much bigger than what we have now. We have to move - not enough space here for all of us now.

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2007 10:44

Yes there does seem to be rather a lot of it on our thread recently - nutters!

NorthernLurker · 12/11/2007 10:48

Dippy - you're just saying that because you managed to move before dd3 arrived! Anything new on the jobs front? I made a sort of suggestion on the old thread but I don't know if you saw it?

elkiedee · 12/11/2007 10:54

Morning all, feeling tired here. D woke up twice, second time from 3 to 4.30 am - dp fed him and I fell asleep again a bit before dp and D. At least he didn't wake up again until 8.30, unfortunately I had to get up so as to be ready once he did, and he always wakes up just as I've persuaded myself I've done the little bits and pieces I can do and could sit down and read a book/finish my breakfast for a few minutes.

Can't believe I'm going to venture out to two evening meetings this week (and I went to one last week as well). Both fairly local but dp will have to put D to bed on his own tonight - 6 pm meeting has a creche but I don't want to disrupt D's routine starting at 6.30 pm like that, as I don't have to at the moment. Wednesday is the NCT AGM, and as it's about 15 minutes walk away D may even be asleep by the time I need to leave the house. It will feel strange though!

Now, some phonecalls and a feed before we get ready for Jolly Babies.

elkiedee · 12/11/2007 10:55

Ooh, and Northern Lurker, your dcs are beautiful. But I have to put in a word for tardy babies born in May

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2007 10:55

No, I didn't see it - what was it!? Open to any suggestions -trawling Free Ads / local papers / notice boards etc etc etc has commmenced with avengence!! Sigh .....

Yes, I may have moved before P arrived, but I moved on Christmas Eve with a big(ish) Bump and 2 under 3 ...... Argh ..... NEVER again ......

NorthernLurker · 12/11/2007 10:58

Thanks Elkie - and D may have been born in May but he (and you) belong here! I love that picture on your profile of him in the zebra suit. I want a zebra suit! Good work on the evening meetings - I'm sure your dp and D will be fine and you deserve some mummy time. Have a good day at Jolly Babies - I love that name! DO they turn you away if your baby is grizzling

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2007 10:59

Hi Elkie - oooooh, you Dirty Stop Out - out 2 evenings - I am sure DP will be absolutely find putting your lovely little man down for the night - Good for you, we should all get out more!!

CaptainDippy · 12/11/2007 11:01

YOU want a Zebra Suit, NL.

underwire · 12/11/2007 11:02

Morning all. Great news about the offer NL, shame they need to sell too. My parents have been trying to sell their house for months. Loads of interested people to look around but everyone has a house to shift. They are looking to downsize as they live in a big detached house and its just the two of them now.

GMM, hoping that the little twin is still fighting xxxx

To those of you involved in the secret santa - do you think it might be a good idea for us all to post some suggestions of stuff we like? I was just thinking that it might make it easier. I would hate to buy something that I thought was lovely, only to find that the recipient hated that sort of thing IYKWIM. If the general concensus is for a totally random thing, that is ok too though Let me know what you think!
