Says something about motherhood, doesn't it, Pinions? The highlight of a saturday night is getting ryvita stuck up an orifice (or reading about it online).

Bumble - grand to see you, bet you're looking forward to going back to Oz (though maybe not the flight ).

PeshaCake · 10/11/2007 19:58

Lol at snot back!

But how have you got ryvita stuck pinions?!

Nice to see you bumble

Caz - I still have not had af back the only benefit of bfing that actually seems to work for me!!

PeshaCake · 10/11/2007 20:00

Or should that have been snort at snot back?!

Sorry - does sound painful and very frustrating I would imagine

oooggs · 10/11/2007 20:12

Well dh and I have made it to 8 years of married bliss life!!!!!!!

we have had a lovely day and this evening all 5 of us set off to the local chinese resturant. Got there at 5pm, fed dts, we all ate and had a couple of bevvies!!!!!

But left wallet at home so no means of payment and no id (they asked me if I wanted me to work for the evening . Anyway we walked home and then dh went back to pay.

I am stuffed, but dh has just opened a posh box of chocs that I bought from the chocolate party - hey ho

hope all is well, I was doing the dishes this morning and I felt a tug at the bottom of my trousers, lo and behold Erin is there trying to get my attention. She is like a puppy and follows you everwhere - not rest at all now and soon Jack will be at it

can't think of any personals, but will be back later

liath · 10/11/2007 20:20

Congratulations Oooggs !

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2007 20:22

Happy anniversary oooggs

Turkeyandsproutsx3 · 10/11/2007 20:23

Just quickly popped in to share another bad mummy moment

Out for a walk with ernie in back pack - boys feral - took him off and propped backpack against my leg with my arm hooked through it - Ted started playing up so sorted him out - then turned round to open my cake, completely forgot was holding onto the backpack with ernie in and he fell headfirst onto the top of a small fence - large gash on cheek and very big black bruise, black eyes too Lots of screaming, ice packs, arnica etc ...

Now if I wasn;t such a piggy eating cake again it would have never happened My little angel looks like hes be beaten

Gawd ... crappola

My mum is staying as dh away - should go and be sociable

liath · 10/11/2007 20:24

Oh - and LOL at forgetting the wallet etc, I've done the same. I'm sure my brain fell out when I had ds. And you'd already emailed me your address but you're not the only Dippy one who's sent it a few times !! I think we're all losing our marbles.

oooggs · 10/11/2007 20:29

blimey liath I don't even remember doing it - a bit like my wallet!!!!!

PinionsAndHerPumpkinClub · 10/11/2007 20:30

It does, it says a lot about motherhood indeed .

And I can't even spell it right I eat enough of the f*in stuff.

Do not try to multitask whilst trying to eat ryvita. It can lead to serious nasal damage. In fact I think that should be clearly listed on the side of the packet. Rah.

Have tried the snottin back thing. Have tried nasal drops. Have tried coughing very loudly. Have tried that disgusting sound that some men make(and me sometimes rah). Have tried ignoring it and it bloody well kills. Just had a bath and dunked my head backwards and let all the warm water drip down the back of my nose and it feels pretty much the same. And I did that about 10 times. Feels a bit like when you go swimming and the water goes in the wrong way that effing well kills aswell.

Fuck it.

Am sat here dripping wet, better go and get myself sorted and have a drop of cherry brandy . Might try gargling some.

Fuck. Fuckity fuck fuck.

oooggs · 10/11/2007 20:36

ouch pinions - hope you manage to sleep - the last thing you need is that keeping you awake - its bad enough the children stopping us sleep

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2007 20:37

did A&E not sort it then Pinions?
Sorry, I assumed crisis was over.
octo, how upsetting bet you were a lot more distressed than he was though!

liath · 10/11/2007 20:41

Pity DH is at work, Pinions or I could ask him if he'd ever dealt with nasal ryvita before .

Poor Ernie, those backpacks can be blooming dangerous, they just tip over.

PeshaCake · 10/11/2007 20:55

Pinions could it be that the ryvita has gone its just that your cut/bruised now?

Octo poor ernie but not crappy mummy just an unlucky accident. Cake is to blame for so many things

Frankendooby · 10/11/2007 20:55

hAPPY ANNIVERSARY ooogs! Eek turkeyx3 that must have been scary...hope u both ok.I had a terrible fight on Thurs night. Was heating M's bottle up for bed ..he was in his activity chair thing...let out a big cry so picked him up and there was a long silence before he drew breath then he cried again and i looked at him a nd he was silent and changing colour...I freaked completely he was white, blue and grey and had stopped breathing...i threw him over my arm and rantn to phone and shouted down it..they were here fast and i was hitting his back as i didn't know what to do and he started to come round. At the hosp his oxygen levels were low and his pulse high and he was pale and his pupils were dilated but chest xray, bloods, blood gas were fine. The consultant thought it might be a breath holding incident and said he is young to start it but his brain is ahead [?]I read about it in my book and it did say it can happen for a number of reasons...if they have pain etc but i am really not sure about that as i didn't see anything unusual. The consultant said to avoid situations where he may get wound up etc!He was fine and it was really sudden and i couldn't have anticipated it.They said if it happens again and i am not sure to bring him in and they will carry out more tests.I asked how long you give it before waiting for them to resume breathing...as the response should kick in as i really am not sure....I feel totally taumatises as does ds1.Dp was away and had to drive to hosp.I am scared and i look like crap

PeshaCake · 10/11/2007 20:56

you're

oooggs · 10/11/2007 20:57

oh dooby - hope you are all ok - how scary take care of yourselves x

ocot - hope Ernie has recovered from his shock - and you from yours

liath · 10/11/2007 21:00

Oh God, Dooby !! How are you feeling? Did he choke on something do you think?

NorthernLurker · 10/11/2007 21:00

Oh Pinions that takes the biscuit!

(sorry I'll get my coat....)

Just stopping long enough to pass on that I rushed out to tell dh of the predicament one of the April ladies had found herself in. He was extremely sympathetic and said why had you not been seen as a priority in A&E. I said that of course it was very painful but understandably not the most urgent thing they had to deal with. He said but they can't expect a child to deal with that - and it dawned on us he had misheard lady as baby!

Frankendooby · 10/11/2007 21:04

At first i thought so but i really think not.It may have been a sudden pain or something but i don't know why and don't think the hosp do really.I feel completely traumatised and i expect it will take a while to get back to relative normality.I really thought he was dying.

NorthernLurker · 10/11/2007 21:05

Oh dooby - that sounds awful. If it's any comfort I had a friend a few years ago whose son did this in situations of alarm or anger (he was a toddler when I knew him) He did always start breathing again and she got used to it but it was very scary for her. It was complicated by the fact that he didn't like balloons - which are everywhere and when he saw them he got upset and held his breath.

PinionsAndHerPumpkinClub · 10/11/2007 21:15

AAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGGGGGGHH.

Just lost two massive posts. Anyone experiencing problems with crappy NTL at the moment??????????? It keeps crashing.

Right off to bed.

Just caught ahold of that dooby, hope you're ok.

T does similar at times when he can't breathe cos so bunged up.

Night ladies thanks for listening to my ramblings will let you know how I get on.

Off to go and snort some more ryvita .

busywithIzzy · 10/11/2007 21:30

Oh Dooby, that must have been so scary for you. You poor thing. J used to do something very similar from about 1year old, although it transpired for us it wasn't breath holding but reflux. If he got upset/stressed he would cough which would bring stomach acid/vomit into his throat, but instead of being sick he would stop breathing until he either was sick or swallowed it again. He was still taking ranitadine for it until recently!

Octo - Poor Ernie, but not a bad mummy moment, just an accident. Izzy fell off the bed today and banged her head so I empathise!

Pinions - Hope you sort out the ryveta!! Could you get dh to blow into your nostril whilst holding the other one closed or something like that. I think I read something about doing that if children have something stuck their nose...maybe wrong though

Great to hear about all the haircuts...I have to say I have been having mine done regularly although my Mum and I have ours done at the same time and play pass the baby with Izzy

KHIN - Have been thinking of you. Hope the move goes ok.

Bumble - Good to 'see' you back.

Congratulations Oooggs!! I never take my purse when we go out...luckily DH always takes his. In fact it's a bit of a family joke that I always forget my purse!!

Had a good weekend so far. My brother has been home from Greece, so we've been out for dinner. Poor J really misses him and gets so excited when he's back!

StealthPolarBear · 10/11/2007 21:39

How scary dooby

weeonion · 10/11/2007 23:00

dooby - how awful for you. even worse when yu are on your own for it. you seem to have kept it together at the time.
a friends wee girl does this when she gets her face splashed with water - even for hair washes. she feels so much better about it after doign an infant resus course. is there any close by you?
