Morning all.....

Thought I'd start a new thread as the other was huge.

Bit late now but big hug to Beau..... hope you went back to sleep little man.

J & M still asleep, it's one good thing about having Mum & Dad around, I don't have to wake the girls up to do the school run.

How exciting Mrsauntie JB!

Sorry about all those poorly babies and sleepless nights, we are on early morning duty, 4.45 am here, in with mummy gooing and cooing away.. but the first tooth is really there so maybe we shall have an easier week from now on Hooray for Archie! A hefty dose of Nurofen seems to be doing the trick for us.

Abby, MrsJB, Pink, even though J is the size of a house, he is not putting much in the way of solids away and frankly I can't be too bothered at the moment. He had a bit of steamed carrot, choked and gagged and threw up all the small amount of banana he had eaten Therefore in my book, he is not really ready. No hurry...its tedious enough trying to work out what to give the other two hungry mouths

SOH, I've been so busy I forgot to say that it was great news that J was ok in the end. Looking forward to meeeeeeeeting you. HA!

LeafCoveredMeadow · 14/11/2007 22:00

Just watched Gok - I love that programme!

Dh had to put Ella to bed tonight with a bottle as he had to go to rehearsal and i put Jack to bed. Both went down really well and were asleep by 7.55. Touch wood all is ok. Ella has eaten more solids today than she has in over a week - not massive amounts but enough. She slept for about 2hrs at lunch and had a cat nap either side. Am hoping that will make a difference. Fingers crossed for a better night - they cant get any worse i am sure.

SOH, how exciting to be getting ready for stay with LG&T - she really is as lovely in person as she is on here.

MrsJB, so excited for your dsis - cant wait for the news How old will H be in Dec?

Got swimming with Ella tomorrow morning. We are on the 2nd course and we go under water with them. Teacher will put her under the water and i watch her (whilst wearing goggles) come towards me, catch her and come up. Its fab!

Got to sort out this pig sty of a house now that the flooring has been done. Everything got shoved into the kids bedrooms and dh is going crazy with his OCD!

Managed to get most of my Xmas presents wrapped today. Have a the kiddies bits to wrap although am only putting a bow on Ella's as its too complicated to wrap. We go her this and ds got this Everytime we go to Mothercare World (they have elc in there as well) he spends ages playing with it.

Only a few more bits to get and then i am done

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/11/2007 22:20

H will be 5, AM (if he makes it)

He has his first wobbly tooth infact he has 2! he's not even 5 fgs! Is that a bit early for big teeth. poor lad, he's gonna be a gummy bear for a while and their big teeth look horrible until there face grows into them. I'm quite emotional about the whole thing

Wooo Hooo I'm gong to be an Auntie (for the 11th time)

woo hoo H, that is so exciting, I remember when dd lost hers, she was 4 too, I almost phoned the dentist to check that there wasn't something wrong Apparently if they arrive quite early they loose them early too, hers arrived at 4 mths so she lost them early, she looks quite different without the top two! I got all emotional too

ds1 is driving me NUTS just now he just wants to kill everyone and is stuck 24/7 to a stick of some sort. Tell me MrsJB, when will he calm down....its ok to lie.

Pebblemum · 14/11/2007 23:01

Wow AM You are organised. I have got all of A's (she was so easy to buy for lol) and I have bought most of the boys stocking fillers but that is about it. We still have to decide on the boys' main presents. J is definately the hardest. What on earth do you buy for a 10yr old boy who has all the main things he could want/need and who also doesnt really play with toys. Even he doesnt know what he wants He has finally admitted he no longer believes in Santa so to me its even more important he has a good Christmas. So if any of you can think of something amazing/original I could get him then I would greatly appreciate it.

MrsJB wow not long now and you will be an Aunty Hope all goes well for your dsis.

largeginandtonic · 15/11/2007 08:03

I missed Gok

Im not really here, im baking\cleaning...

In fact im not any of those things, a friend has asked me to go to the baby stabbing clinic with her, She has a 2 yr old and an 11wk old for jabs. How much help im going to be with 2 of my own i will never know No appointments you just have to sit and wait, no play area either. Sometimes i just cant say 'no'. It is my downfall.

I want to be hear getting all excited about SOH and J and M turning up Have butterflies on my butterflies this morning. Lord only knows how the very shy SOH is doing, her stomach has probably taken flight!

AM you are so organised Hope the little ones slept for you.

Pebble will get thinking for you.

Cam, Hugs will sort B out on Saturday or what will most likely happen is he will join in, hehe.

Any news yet MrsJB?

Pink you sound like your doing a great job and your Grandma sounds lovely and very wise.

Im not here remember.

LeafCoveredMeadow · 15/11/2007 09:05

No night terrors last night thankfully. Ella woke twice before i went to bed and then at 3.30 and 6.20 before getting up at 8.05. Ds was up 4 times before 3am so came into bed with us. Not a great night butbetter than we have had recently.

juliewoolie · 15/11/2007 09:21

poor you LCM.

A massive woo hoo DP gone back to work today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do love him but he has been driving me round the bend.

Pebble is he into sports a tickets to go with daddy to a footie match or rugby?

Mrs JB how is your dsis?

LG&T emailed you about address fro Saturday.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 15/11/2007 09:47

No news yet! had a text late last night to say they had given her the first lot of gel, were going to give her some more this morning and then again at lunchtime. She's not due until Monday so I'm thinking the gel has little chance of working really. it could be days yet. Hope it's not for her sake although I have told her to be patient.

Cam, Oh the POW POW your dead stage H had it last summer, drove me round the twist. He seemed to think that if I asked him to do something and he replied with a stick towards me shouting POW POW then I'd shrivel up and go away and leave him destroy the rest of the universe. I had my bark proof vest on though!! he is not doing it now, it's moved onto the the tounge in cheek, raised eyebrows "so" "I don"t care" "you can't get me anyway" "you're too slow" "I'm spiderman" "I'm gonna get my little evil sister in trouble" stage.

Funny you say that about teeth. H got the bottom two that are wobbly now at 4.5mths, that would be the same then!

LgandT not really there lady! Oh how exciting, I bet you do have butterflies. I had them before I came to yours that day and I'm not easily nerved. I'm a bring it on kinda person normaly. I think it's probably because we all seem to "know" each other and so much about each other on here that perhaps you wouldn't normally know before you had actually set eyes on someone. Maybe that's what makes it more scary finally meeting. I was the same when I met AM, but as you know she is well SCARY so I was right to be concerned.

AM, you must be soooo tired, I'd have lost all capability to function by now. Don't slap me but J had a bottle at 6.30pm last night, went to bed at 7pm and woke this morning at 9am!! [slightly smug emotion]

Cam - DS1 is surgically attached to his sword. They are not allowed proper swords at nursery so he has to make a cardboard one. Every morning. This has now been going on for about 5 months. I have said I will not help him make a gun ( a step too far for me!) so he made a sword and stuck another piece of card on it so it could be a gun. Oh well

JW He is mad on football but most games are played when dh is at work ie late kick off weekdays or Saturday afternoons so tickets arent really an option. I love my son but dont think i can sit through another 90 minutes of watching grown men kicking a ball around and rolling on the floor at the slightest tap. Ive already taken him to two matches, thats my quota for another 5 years lol.

Bensonbluebird · 15/11/2007 11:39

Haven't had time to post for the last few days as we have been having a scary and exhausting time. Haven't really had the opportunity to catch up with everyone else either, but SOH, glad that J is on the mend and that you know what it was now.

After DS1 had had his collapse on monday the doctor thought it was a kidney infection and gave him some penicillin and told us to go in to hospital to get him checked the next day. DP took him in the following morning while I stayed home with A, who was also quite sick. Then I didn't hear anything for 4 hours, by which time I was in knots. Eventually DP had a chance to phone me and tell me that the doctors were saying that we should have taken him in straight away and the the GP shouldn't have given him antibiotics because they were masking the infection, and that they would have to put him on IV antibiotics and keep him in overnight.

I got everything together for the two of them to spend the night in hospital and went in with A. By the time I got there N was sick of having tests and was refusing to let anyone do anything else to him (I don't blame him!). By the time I left the story was that they would keep him in overnight for monitoring. It was a really awkward visit as A wasn't allowed onto the ward and N wasn't allowed out, so the only place DP and I could talk was hovering in the doorway. When I got home I wondered if they were weren't letting him off the ward so I didn't pick him up and run away with him. The poor boy was so desperate to get out of there that I felt terrible leaving him.

The consultant decided to discharge him at about 7 as his temperature hadn't been up all day but he will need to go back for an ultrasound scan and more tests later.

Since then N has been fine, though utterly exhausted and still complaining occasionally that his back hurt. A is still getting a high temperature and his lungs are so full of gunk that he is finding it hard to sleep. I took him back to the GP this morning and he was concerned that his temperature had been high for so long (10 days!) so I need to try and get a urine sample from him to check that he doesn't have a kidney infection too. Should be fun... don't think A will be wearing a nappy much today while I try to catch wees

Mrsjaffabiffa · 15/11/2007 12:13

Wow BB you've had a tough time. I hope they are both on the mend soon. getting a pee sample from a baby is not easy. Took us 4 hrs with H when he was a baby and in hospital, should have taen an hour but we missed it, ooops. The nurses were not impressed.

Did anyone else see that strange looking pale image that flashed in and then out again?..... No, must have been seeing things....

dsis is having irregular contractions. The gel is obviously doing something, they won't give her anymore now just going to wait and see if these contractions do anything. He is not engaged yet and she is not dialated at all.

Back from swimming now - Ella had a lovely time, we went under the water together - its so cute to see her swimming under water.

Went to the weighing clinic as i was concerned that she hadnt managed to gain even 1lb (15oz) in 6weeks. So now she has gained 7.5oz in 2 weeks making her 16lbs 2.5oz. Feel much happier, i was surprised though as she has been off her food.

BBB, sorry to hear that you have had such a tough time.

MrsJB...... dont think i didnt see your comment on the other thread.......

largeginandtonic · 15/11/2007 14:44

Poor you BB, what a nightmare. DD used to suffer with wee infections quite alot, she would have awful back ache and be very sick with the high temperature. She grew out of it though thank goodness. Hope it all improves for you.

I have baked some Brownies and sorted out SOH'S room for her and the tank plus J! Have polished and am now wrestling with the washing. I farcking hate the washing, my basket is never empty

I just went to start the Gingerbread men and couldnt find any ginger! Disaster. Am, also out of washing powder. This means i have to go shopping and it is time to collect the dc. B flaked after a very fractious morning and now i have to wake him up!

You aint seen me, right?!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 15/11/2007 15:43

HI ladies. Sorry I haven't been around so much just life is crazy and then the internet was down so what can I do. Everyone is doing well except that we are all recovering from a tummy bug. Everyone but Cruz that is. I hope all of you are doing ok and I promise to catch up ASAP.

anneme · 15/11/2007 20:09

poor your BB - hope things improve tonight.

I think I might donate DS1's hair to the NAt History museum. It has managed to keep lice healthy and happy through FOUR lots of combing/anti nit stuff. Did it again tonight - HOPE that is it.

Funny to think of all of you down chez LG&T!

AbbyLou · 15/11/2007 21:11

Hi all, just a quickie as packing for weekend in Norfolk.
Sorry to hear N has been so poorly BB but glad he's feeling better.
Mrs JB hope you've had some good news by now.
Very of those who are meeting tomorrow, have a lovely time.
Anneme, hope you enjoy your break at Risley Hall and find something to do round here.
Had a call earlier from a friend who was due yesterday. She had planned a homebirth. She had a few niggles today so decided to have a bath. When she got out she decided the pains were getting a bit worse so deicded to phone the midwife to ask what to do. As she went into her bedroom to find her phone her baby just dropped out!! Can you believe it? Luckily she caught him. She had left her phone downsatirs and had to get down there with the baby and cord still attached to ring 999. She sounds so calm but said she wasn't at the time. I can't believe, they are both very shell shocked. She says she can't quite believe she has had him.

largeginandtonic · 15/11/2007 21:23

She is here....

I have a fully fledged SOH and Mathilda in my front room. I have let go of Mathilda briefly so she can feed her, she is the most squidgable baby i have ever seen Her mom is pretty cute too

Abby at your friend!!! Hope she is ok.

cameroonmama · 15/11/2007 21:30

Abby your poor/lucky friend, what a fright! Any news yet MrsJB?

BB sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time, what a nightmare for you all. I hope both are soon on the mend.

juliewoolie · 15/11/2007 21:59

BB hope things get a bit better for you.

SKYTVADDICT · 15/11/2007 22:27

Hi all. Hi MKG. I'm not a very frequent visitor either at the moment. Can't seem to find the time!

Hope you have a nice few days lg&t and SOH.

Poor you BB. Hope they get better soon and AM your nights sound awful. I've been moaning about C having 2 feeds and he goes straight back to sleep after them.

Have bought my secret santa pressie but not wrapped it yet. Doesn't the recipient know who it is from by looking at the post mark?
