I can't think where I got those ideas from. I know I think yo are wise. You have also described yourself a s "squashy" but I am sure you aren't.
Can't work out the polyester dress though.

Fennel · 30/11/2004 11:00

I don't own a polyester dress at all. am decidely less squashy than a few months ago - thank goodness. I have dreamt about mumsnet too but can't remember the details now. it's a bit worrying isn't it?

my hair is currently blondish messy bob. sometimes it's a reddish henna-ed messy bob. now I will have to find a recent photo to post - can't have these misconceptions appearing

MrsDoolittle · 30/11/2004 11:09

yorkiegirl - will do so! must amend false impressions immediatedly.

Fennel · 30/11/2004 11:18

Mrs D - you could start a thread "my mumsnet dreams" I bet lots of people have had them!

I had a worrying dream last week. my 2 year old neice was being stroppy and I smacked her hard in the face. . don't dare tell dsis about that one or I'd be banned from babysitting I suspect.

Cool Fennel - will do! I was going to go to bed - I am off sick but instead I am splutteriung all over the keyboard. Need strepsils...

handlemecarefully · 30/11/2004 12:36

Oh yes, would love to see photos of everyone as long as I am exempted from joining in.

For those who asked about the sweet potato chips - no you don't need a deep fat fryer. Method is a bit like roast potatoes; a hot oven temperature, and coat the sweet potato chips in oil before baking.

TracyK · 30/11/2004 13:38

ds was better yesterday and today with his food. I think I've been timing his meals all wrong - or more like his naps all wrong. He gets too tired to sit and eat so I fill him with milk and then he's too full for solids etc etc. So I've been making sure I get him down for a nap well before any meals and then he seems ok.
Still wants finger food - so have been giving him eggy bread, cheese, mayo and spring onion sandwiches and fish fingers filling. He is getting better at eating more than goes on the floor.

Lowryn · 30/11/2004 20:22

Wow Yorkiegirl, cruising already!
DS is travelling around the room without appearing to move! He is probably going to be a bottom shuffler!
He is sprouting his top teeth and keeping me awake at nights.
The other day he learnt to clap and now he amuses himself and us by clapping and giggling...bless!

LucyJones · 30/11/2004 20:55

ds is clapping here too - he loves it when we clap back! he also loves having his teeth cleaned for some reason and starts laughing as soon as he sees his toothbrush. I think I have given birth to a serious nutcase

Fennel · 30/11/2004 21:25

lucyjones - that reminds me, dd3 would love a toothbrush too.

yorkiegirl - have sent you 2 new photos, including one of me hiding behind dd2.

hewlettsdaughter · 30/11/2004 22:01

Fennel, I think there was a thread about people dreaming about other mumsnetters - I know I've done it
Lowryn, my dd is "travelling" too. Her latest trick is to move from on her front to sitting and back again.
Finding it harder to keep up with this thread now I'm working...

dd3 manages to move across the floor with no clear method too.

HD sadly I find it easy to keep up with mumsnet at work. am getting more disciplined at actually doing some work as well lately though

I had a mumsnet dream last night! it must be catching. not very exciting though, I met one of the other academic mumsnetters at a conference and I recognised her name and she couldn't work out why I knew so much about her.

dot1 · 01/12/2004 08:50

work's keeping me far too busy these days - I miss being able to pop in and out of Mumsnet... Mrs D - your description of Fennel is uncanny - that's EXACTLY how she looks!!! No, not really, she's really very glamourous, and was blonde last time we met up - which to my shame was ages ago - I'm not ignoring you Fennel, just can't seem to find the time to stand still at the moment - utterly exhausted as work's picking up at a v. scary pace and dp and I don't seem to have a minute to catch up... It's ds1's 3rd birthday on Tuesday and we haven't even organised his birthday tea yet - only going to be small but I suppose we should at least let his grandparents know..!

dot1 · 01/12/2004 08:51

PS, ds2 can kind of move a few inches but by inadvertent bottom shuffling! I think when he realises he can do it he'll be off - but may be a strange bottom shuffler, rather than a crawler - still having large tummy therefore unable to hold his own weight issues..!

Chuffed · 01/12/2004 10:07

Hi back again, busy couple of days.
dd is being a rascal at the moment, fights getting dried from the bath, I'm having to dry standing up on the side of the bath, fights having nappy changed I have two feet in one hand trying to do the nappy up while she twists and turns.
Apart from the rascal behaviour she is just so incredibly cute that it blows me away each time I look at her and we have a continuous chorus of mama mama mama (dadda is getting very jealous). On Sunday when I was on my course she said mamma and tried to eat the telephone so we are wondering if she has put together that if somebody isn't around they could be on the telephone. We have done quite a bit of speaker phone stuff with her in the past - could be a total fluke.

MrsDoobaubles · 01/12/2004 11:23

My Christmas name. Do you like it?

Fennel · 01/12/2004 11:30

my idea for an xmas name has been taken already!

love being described as "glamorous" - but the photo I sent to yorkiegirl of me and dds in rain should put paid to that

MrsDoobaubles · 01/12/2004 11:36

I think you should have it anyway.
Or maybe ask for some suggestions?

The mumnset dreams thread dropped like a lead balloon btw

Fennel · 01/12/2004 11:40

mrs d - I feel I should have the monopoly on green leafy variations!
