Baby sleeping now, so rather than do sensible things like clean house i'm surfing....

Went to shopping mall today. Pushed the buggy into the lift, where there was already a mum with a little girl. They had the identical buggy - the orange/red and charcoal Graco one.

? Oh that?s my buggy,? chirps the ? 3yo occupant of the buggy
? Yes that?s right Elizabeth,? says her mother ?That?s the same as your buggy?.
? What a co-incidence? I exclaim, ?This is Elizabeth too? as I nod towards my sleeping child.
? Is she a baby?? asks the other child ?Oh no? I reply, ? She?s a big girl like you ? she?s 4?.

I notice the mother looking at me a bit strangely but continue to chat away. Get out at the next floor and look down to see 6-month-old son (dressed in obviously boy?s clothes) still fast asleep........

Kristina - you make me laugh I love your dry humour.
This thread is busy busy busy. I hope the poorly babies are feelig better.
Bless you dolbear - you really have had a rough time of it recently.
Dd is not well. She is happy enough in herself but she has been dribbling vomit since I picked her up from nursery this afternoon. She has never been a sicky baby atall so this is a first for me. I met a gorgeous Dad at nursery this morning as I dropped off dd and we introduced ourselves. I am sure I was blushing.
Anyway, not until I got home did I notice the big splodge of weetabix stuck to the shoulder of my jumper

Chuffed - I have e-mailed you today.

Have a good weekend Ladies. I am hoping dd will be better in the morning.

Sorry to hear we have another sicky baby Mrs D

YG - I'm sure the antibiotics should have kicked in by now. Has that been 48 hours? Maybe you need a diferent one, coz you were on a course recently weren't you?? Maybe you should check with someone??????

BTW just in case you were wondering if i had lost my 4yo daughter while out shopping...she has just started school My only excuse is the sleep deprivation.....

How are you today YG (and how are all the poorly babies)? DD is ok - her rash seems to have faded.
Kristina re the 'wrong' child in your buggy! I let someone in the house this morning to fix a blind up for me and managed to forget about dd for about 10 mins - suddenly remembered her and tore around the house trying to work out where she was! Fortunately she was strapped in a bouncy chair gnawing a plastic toy. Later on though (when friend and I were dealing with the blind) dd fell off ds's bed (ds was supposed to be watching her but I don't suppose I can really blame him). It's been a bit of a morning...

hewlettsdaughter · 30/10/2004 13:44

Erk! Think dd may have white spots on her tongue - maybe she has thrush?

It would certainly be a dramatic way of avoiding going back to work...
Be kind to yourself. If it's really bad then you're best getting it sorted, whatever that involves.

yorkiegirl - can you add clove oil to the treatments you're already taking? I find it quite effective for toothache. You dab it on with a bit of cotton wool. Or is it not that sort of pain?

KristinaM - LOL

noone has been sickly in the fennel family for ages. amazing indeed. we are probably due a bout of something.

Happy Halloween everyone. I have a couple of piccies to go with the day...

here you go

dot1 · 31/10/2004 08:09

ds2 is wearing a lovely pumpkin top that was ds1's - very sweet. Only we put in him trousers to match which are 12 - 18 months and they're too tight - just had to cut the waistband so his HUGE tummy could fit...! Quite depressing really 'cos lots of ds1's old clothes aren't fitting - but then he can't get into many types of trousers at the moment - just the stretchy jogging bottom-type trousers... dp and I are wondering what we're going to stick him in for the next year or so (will have to start wrapping material round him in trendy David Beckham-type ways..!!)

hewlettsdaughter · 31/10/2004 08:20

Great pics Lowryn!

Lowryn · 31/10/2004 08:29

Wow dot1 that sounds like DD when she was little, but luckily with girls you can just stick them in a stretchy dress. It is only at almost three yrs that she can wear trousers (aged 4-5) without huge turn ups

Fennel · 31/10/2004 08:57

none of mine could wear trousers before they were out of nappies. due I think to the bigger washable nappies. but I like dungarees on them anyway.

dd1 is dressed as a witch to go to the zoo. we are all ready an hour or more early due to the clocks changing! dd2 is dressed as a ladybird.

Cute pics Lowryn

YG How are you feeling this morning? I'm concerned about you . Hugs (((( ))))). Sorry don't knwo about breakfast food as DS only just started on solids so stil only has baby rice. Ahd he's not 26 weeks til Tuesday Hope you are up to a party.

Dot1 - don't worry about DS2 being...ahem... cuddly. My friend's baby was like that and as soon as she began to crawl she didn't put on any weight for MONTHS but got a lot taller. So she kind of grew into her weight IYSWIM.

DS is the opposite - long and slim. Which would make you laugh if you knew my DH as he is also cuddly. Very cuddly. Coz DS is also folically challenged, people keep commenting on how small he is for his age. Which he's not. I suppose they mean young-looking. Meanwhile he is 6 months old this week and wearing 9-12months clothes!

Fennel - glad to hear you are all well. How is DD1 enjoying school?

Dolbear - how are things with you?
