I hope no one minds the other thread seemed to be dying out a bit.

I can't belive Harry is one on Friday, he is into everything, such a cheeky chappy!

Mum is alot better they are sending her home to rest and loose some wieght then getting her back in for another crack at op.
The events of this horrible yr have all caught up with her and she is in bits, its painfull tyo wathc especially not knowing what to say or do.

Jack is fine, still hating nebulisers but its for his own good, he is to into everything and looking more grown up by the day.

I hope everyone is well, are we all looking forward to xmas?

whats a cd????

saralou · 05/02/2008 12:19

nope just worked it out... cycle day right???

saralou · 05/02/2008 12:20

don't forget nat your body is settling down after the miscarriage so don't count too much... i thought you weren't trying till later on anyway!

NatalieJane · 05/02/2008 12:33

T'is OK, AF is here

I wasn't counting for any other reason but to see if I could get a natural cycle going before May. Have spent so long on hormonal contraception, being pregnant or breast feeding, I have no idea of my natural cycle. Just getting in practice I spose!!

I have ordered some catalogues today, ones with baby stuff in them how sad is that?!!! LOL

KaybeeandZak · 05/02/2008 17:08

My midwife wouldnt test it, she is making me have a fasting blood test to check it... grrr i deprived myself of sweets yesterday and today for no good reason!!!!!!!

It's not nearly as good being pregnant the second time, no chance of lying around relaxing like i did when pg with Zak! I keep getting a bad back too which sucks. There's definatley somethign to be said for having kids young I think - more energy! When i used to babysit my young cousins when I was in my early 20's it wasn't nearly as exausting as it is now (I'm 32!)

NatalieJane · 05/02/2008 17:26

I had that test when I was pregnant with George, just because my bump was so bloody huge! It isn't quite as bad as it all sounds. The glucose drink they give tastes a bit erm.... well awful really, but you do get a biscuit before you go

Oh god, getting flash backs of contractions for 9 bloody weeks and DIY sweeps, am I mad wanting to go through all that again?

(No one answer that, I won't listen!!! )

KaybeeandZak · 05/02/2008 19:06

I don't actually have to drink the glucose, just not eat and then have a blood test. If I fail that then I have to do the glucose one.

I think i am in denial that I actually have to give birth again. . . Though I don't think burying my head in the sand is going to change the facts. I told my friend a magic zipper was going to appear in my tummy and number two baby would come out that way! None of that messy and painful business like last time! Ah well, dreams are free.......

NatalieJane · 05/02/2008 19:11

I have to say, I am actually loking forward to giving birth again (she says now, not pregnant, how long will that last?!!! ) I loved it last time! Just hope I don't fall into the catagory of '3rd labours are the worst'! Having said that last time it was only two hours start to finish, I hope it isn't any quicker than that, DH can be anything up to 4 hours away!

KaybeeandZak · 05/02/2008 19:27

hmmm nice mental picture!

If I could hold out any hope that my 2nd would be only a few hours I think I could cope, but I am just not that lucky! ds2 will probably be late like his brother was, though I am refusing to be induced again, that was dreadful.

it is a bit of a worry if it's only a couple of hours and your dh is so far away! my dh is only about 45 mins away (depending on underground) and I am still starting to stress about what will happen to ds1 when i do go into labour...

ok ok i am a worry wort

NatalieJane · 05/02/2008 19:32

I think stressing over the birth is all part of the pregnancy, I found if I wasn't thinking about what else we needed to buy, I was thinking about the birth, and what would happen with DS1.

I don't suppose many people go through pregnancy with out having at least a small bit of worry over the birth. But at least when it isn't your first you kind of know what to expect. Actually not sure if that makes it better, or worse ...

Staceym21AtLast · 05/02/2008 19:41

hi everyone! gunna try and be around more but it isnt always working!

kaybee, dont panic, it'll be fine.

NJ i htink your bonkers! but he ho nothing ever changes

NatalieJane · 05/02/2008 19:43

Moi? Bonkers?

Am I?!!!!

No idea who Laura is....???

Staceym21AtLast · 05/02/2008 19:52

her husband died whilst fishing......cant work out her name.

NatalieJane · 05/02/2008 19:59

Oh you mean Mummy2T&f???

I think I saw her do an update on the berevment thread not long after christmas. Don't think I've seen her since.

KaybeeandZak · 05/02/2008 20:06

ok i will stop panicking for now and then resume a bit closer to the time and drive you all crazy

Staceym21AtLast · 05/02/2008 20:12

ah yes, thats her name.

hmm shall search for her now and see if i can get hold of her via email again, twas a bit worried as she's vanished!

NatalieJane · 06/02/2008 07:19

I think I could be quite happily driven mad all day listening to pre and post birth stories It is what it is all about

Did you manage to find her Stace? I hope she is OK, I get in such a kerfuffle around death and stuff, never know what to say, especially when the death is so close.

IrishHelen · 06/02/2008 09:53

Was hoping I could join this group. My daughter was born in Nov 06.

KaybeeandZak · 06/02/2008 11:21

Hi IrishHelen, have you just joined mumsnet?

saralou · 06/02/2008 11:28

hi everyone!

dp is annoying meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! that man needs to go to work.

hi helen, nice to meet you...

KaybeeandZak · 06/02/2008 11:41

What's he doing saralou? just being a typical man??

saralou · 06/02/2008 13:04

yes he's being a typical man!! why can they not do anything without a kick up the arse adult supervision?!

all he had to do was get the boys ready to go swimming while i popped out, so we could leave when i got back... but he didn't! then as we were all ready to go he announces he needs to go for a poo! so we didn't get to the swimming pool in time and had to turn round and come home with ds1 all disapointed!!

they have no clue about nap times or lunch times or anything! aaaaarrrrggggghhhhhh!

i am calmer than earlier though

and now we're gonna go this afternoon instead!

NatalieJane · 06/02/2008 14:15

Hi Helen

Keep kicking his arse Sara, but smile sweetly whilst you do it, makes it much more pleasent

podglet · 06/02/2008 20:36

Hi all and welcome to helen, just jump right in with us, we're all quite mad (see especially posts by NJ )

Kaybee - may I just say, if birth no2 is as bad as birth no 1 (44 hours and emergency section under GA as epidural didn't work and felt the cutting) then I will not be happy. I want to try for a VBAC but my consultant has given me v strict criteria and won't induce again (failed induction last time) that I imagine I will end up with another section - am seeing him again next week to discuss it in more detail.

NJ - yes, DP behaving at the moment I'd love to help with your decorating but I'm in the middle of a kitchen and bathroom rip out and the hall / stairs & landing is being replastered - chaos reighs here

Sara - grrr and naughty DPs - join the club.

Stacey - hurrah for your new freedom - you are so lucky

Charlee - well done on the weight loss, like Kaybee, not looking forward to losing the weight after this one either

All ok here, bump getting bigger by the minute DS fine too, teething at the moment so a bit of a horror but generally lovely

saralou · 06/02/2008 21:04

aaaah, all this talk of baby's! did i tell you my sister is pg! she's 17weeks now - i thought she was about 10 and i still couldn't tell anyone! can't keep count very well can i, lol!

ds2's birth would have been quicker i'm sure.. i was only in labour for 2 hours ish and was definitely nearly their!

definitely glad i will never ever ever give birth again.. the thought fills me with something not pleasant! i'm just gonna enjoy everyone elses! none of the hard work that way!!

gotta go ovens beeping
