Ooooh, didn't know you kept bees Sputnik. We thought about it but didn't really think it was that viable.

evening.....finally I get some me time....although I've just spent the last 20 minutes asleep on the sofa with DD feeding away.

what's been keeping me busy? school run this moring, home, fed DD, then docs appointment for her at 10:15. Out of doctors and straight to Sainsbury's to do the shopping. Got in at 12, fed me then DD then off out to the weaning thin at the clinic. Got in from that at 2:15, fed DD then off out to do the school run. Home for half an hour; fed DS some sarnies then back off out to swimming lessons, home, tea then bed for DS, then fed DD (for over an hour) and just this minute put her down....phew. I miss my DH on mondays!

DD as so cute today at the weaning talk. she was talking to all of the other babies and holding long conversations with all the boys in particular, the saucy minx. I sometimes worry about her development, but seeing her in action today she seemed allright to me!

I'll stick to white rice for DD then....and my brerad and pasta is white mostly anyway, I tend not to do bread for us when DH is away anyway. It's just not on my radar anymore so I forget to buy it.

Poo update Annobal?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 05/11/2007 20:42

Phew, Daisy, you've worn me out just reading that! Enjoy the rest of the evening to yourself, sounds like you've earned it.

I'm off to have a bath and then bed. Night all.

I was a professional beekeeper for a few years, now we just have a few for ourselves.

DynamiteDaisy · 05/11/2007 20:46

oh, and it's interesting about the rice thing...rickets was unheard of in India until the Brits took over and got them onto eating de-husked white rice rather than brown. All the B vitamins are in the husk apparently.

Did I tell you about my aerobics with baby on Saturday? I was carrying DD over to see the bonfire, and stood in a big divot in our lawn (where grandad dug out a huge dandelion apparently). I twisted my ankle and fell, landing on my knees, with one hand on the ground, but somehow managing to keep DD upright. she looked rather bemused by it all. My wrist and ankle are a wee bit sore now and one knee is bruised where I hit a huge stone on the way down! they didn't feel too bad yesterday, but have totally siezed up today

BadZelda · 05/11/2007 20:47

Hello there

Kind of know how you feel Daisy - though my day hasn't been quite as hectic (woolworths for craft materials, library playgroup, playground, home to cook dinner). Just got DD2 down and can now relaaaax. I wish it was practical to get them down at 6.30 but DH doesn't get home till then and we all eat together.

Actually today was a really good monday for a change - usually I am in semi-meltdown by 6pm...I guess because I didn't try and do any laundry/housework. Ah well - it's not going anywhere!

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/11/2007 20:48

daisy, sounds painful. Isn't it amazing how the protective instinct just kicks in when you are carrying your lo's

BadZelda · 05/11/2007 20:48

Sorry to hear about the bumps and bruises Daisy. I prescribe a hot bath with some arnica!

Sputnik · 05/11/2007 20:54

I slipped over carrying the baby the other day (on DD's discarded duck), I fell over in a really awkward position and had to get DH to rescue me.

DynamiteDaisy · 05/11/2007 20:59

I tripped with her going upstairs as well a couple of months ago and gave her a glancing blow to the side of the head

The duck thing, sputnik....I'm always narking at DS to clear his toys away for that very reason. I'm not the most co-ordinated at the best of times due to my dodgy eyesight...add toys to the mix and it'd be carnage.

I will be having words with grandad though for not filling in the divot in the lawn!

Where's Ria these days?....and mhc has been quiet too for ages. If you two are lurking out there, come and say hello!

Sputnik · 05/11/2007 21:02

Ria went on holiday same time as you, but should be back by now.
MHC was last spotted heading (slowly) towards Disneyland in a camper van

Evening!
Bee Keeping? Wow - v unusual.

Well, L has fed fine today, so I really dont know what the matter was yesterday - perhaps she picked up on me being stressed.

Had our 2nd swim class today and the babies all got ducked under the water - it didnt faze her one bit! She seems to love it.

DynamiteDaisy · 05/11/2007 21:09

jbm, I think DDs struggle at feeding anywhere other than our sofa is partly to do with me being very tense about it. We couldn't even manage it in a room full of other mums and babies today .

Glad things are easier though

BadZelda · 05/11/2007 21:09

Oh I'd love to know more about that JBM - I've been taking DD's every weekend - but haven't quite got the nerve up to duck DD2! She does love the water too.

Sputnik · 05/11/2007 21:12

Glad things were better for you today. Baby chuntering, I'm off

justbeme · 05/11/2007 21:15

BZ - all we did was blow hard on their faces and quickly duck them under the water and back up again - they take a sharp intake of breath once you've blown and Bobs your Uncle!! Not one of them cried!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/11/2007 21:27

Evening all...glad things are a bit easier today JBM

Daisy, my biggest fear is tripping over a (dogs) toy with DD in my arms in this house....sounds sore....hot bath and ibropfen (?sp....bit tired!)

I've had a right time of it getting DD off to sleep tonight...very unusual. Finally got her off and I'm sitting here listening to bloody fireworks through her monitor so god knows how loud it is up there!

DynamiteDaisy · 05/11/2007 21:31

there are some photos at the hospital here of babies swimming underwater (ala Nirnava Nevermind album cover). It looks amazing, and I wish I had the courage to let DD go like that!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 05/11/2007 21:34

DD and I had a bath tonight (I've got a very deep whirlpool bath) and I let her float.....but tonight I lost her for a moment and her face was covered momentarily in water ...but she was brilliant.....lifted her head out of the water and coughed a couple of times...no crying or anything. When DH has some time off in a couple of weeks, def going to take her swimming

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/11/2007 21:37

We did a Little Dippers course with DD which was amazing (but expensive). They did the underwater photography there and I really regret not getting some done

justbeme · 05/11/2007 21:38

"very deep whirlpool bath" - Ohhhh Norty, can I get in it pls? Sounds lovely!
Everytime I see your new name I keep singing "have yourself a very merry Xmas.... la la la"

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 05/11/2007 21:39

We were told that babies have a mechanism which means that they shut off their airway to water - as a survival mechanism against drowning. Apparently they lose it at around a year so it's a good idea to take them swimming before then

justbeme · 05/11/2007 21:40

How long did your DD go under for then Fairy?
If its for longer than a second, how does that work?
