Here we go again...

poor babyboo - don't know what to suggest. maybe line the resuables with a muslin that comes out of the sides? but i wonder if that'll wick up all the wee?

going to have to take baby bumper to the dr's as she has an ingrowing toenail and it's really inflammed. looks v painful bless her!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 10/11/2007 18:23

Ouch to the ingrowing toenail. Poor baby Bumper.

We just had a big day out in Oxford. LO was very good in the restaurant for lunch, ate her swede & carrot mash nicely then sat on my lap eyeing up my chips!

DynamiteDaisy · 10/11/2007 19:48

jammy, DS had his first chip at about 22 weeks, in sainsbury's cafe. He loved it, but he'd been on solids since 14 weeks

DD has been rolling over tonight again, and this time we all saw her do it . She has been grumbly and whingy all afternoon. I took her nappy off and the whinging stopped! A couple of doses of metanium and it's looking better already, at least it's stopped being all weepy and sore.

I'm going to get her back to the doctors next week, as it's been going on too long

DynamiteDaisy · 10/11/2007 19:49

oh, and poor babybumper. DSs toenails grow funny where he dropped a 500g tub of aqueaous cream on his foot at 13 months, and if I'm not careful his big toe digs in as it grows.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 10/11/2007 19:58

And ouch to babyboo's sore bot. Had to put a little chamomile cream (Kamilosan?) on DD this afternoon, but nothing that bad.

We're exhausted now. Was a nice day, but really tiring. Have just mapped out our route and we walked about 5 miles for a start, and a lot of it was through the crowded shopping centre, which personally I find more tiring than just going for a brisk walk.

Have you got your Easy Day planned out for tomorrow Jammy?

DynamiteDaisy · 10/11/2007 20:48

lol jammy, I think add in the weaving in and out of people in shops and you have probably added a third onto your journey!

I've binned wipes today and have been wiping DDs bot with weak chamomile tea on cotton wool. Is that an OK thing to do? She has two big weals on the insode of her thighs (where her nappies rub) that are wet and weepy. It seems like it just starts to heal over and then it bursts open again. She is such a trooper though and never really complains about it.

I can't wear knickers with elastic around the legs as I come out in a nasty rash, so maybe she is like me in that respect. IU want it sorted as I can't use reusable nappies on her at the moment as it seems worse with them than dispos. I hate all the waste.

Where is everyone tonight?

DynamiteDaisy · 10/11/2007 20:49

hey foxy...how goes the feeding?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 10/11/2007 20:54

Not sure what's happening tomorrow. Think it might be a good idea to give DD a chilled day, without rushing out anywhere, so she can feed truly on demand. We seem to have been in and out a lot this week, and we've got another big day out again on Tuesday so thought would have a couple of easy days in between. So if DH does take her out, it won't be for too long.

However I have told him he is going to go round the house and clear up all the cobwebs as I am sick of them. That will make me feel a lot better.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 10/11/2007 20:55

Hi all
at babyboo and babybumper.

Don't really know what to suggest Daisy, it sounds painful for her. If it's the elastic cutting in then could you somehow put a small strip of material (a cut up muslin?) around her legs, under the elastic, to keep it cutting into her legs (clutching at straws!), or does vaseline help? Sounds like a trip to the gp is needed.

Nothing much going on in the fairy household, generally a bit of a dull day tbh. The highlight of my day was a solo trip to sainsburys....

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 10/11/2007 20:59

I haven't got the enregy to go have a look, but do cotton wraps have the elastic covered with cotton? Would that be sufficient to protect against an allergic reaction?

OP posts:
nowbringussomeJammypudding · 10/11/2007 21:02

hi Fairy

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 10/11/2007 21:10

Hi there Daisy, I was going to suggest chamomile actually. I'm not sure why, but it came into my head. Certainly can't do any harm. Hmmm, I suppose some nappy-off time is really all I can suggest. Can you put her on her changing mat under her baby-gym for as long as possible - leave a nappy undone under her to catch her wee?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 10/11/2007 21:10

Well, i'm off.

OP posts:
foxythesnowman · 10/11/2007 21:14

Hi Fairy too.

Not sure what I've done today, fed baby, expressed, fed children, fed baby, expressed, did washing, fed baby, fed children, washing, fed baby, expressed, went to shops, came back and .... yep, you get the picture.

I did by lo a Bumbo today. Can't wait to get her in it - DD1 loved hers, and I think lo will too.

I am so, so sad. Was positively shaking with excitement opening this months Good Housekeeping Christmas magazine the shame

foxythesnowman · 10/11/2007 21:15

Night Jammy. Hope you have a good night tonight.

DynamiteDaisy · 10/11/2007 21:16

bless jammy at not having the energy to look....you poor thing, you deserve a day of rest

her wraps all have some sort of polyester type covering to the elastic....I originally thougt it was the resusables and maybe a washing powder build up, but in spite of using dispos, it isn't getting any better. with every new cream I've tried we get an imporvement for a day or two, then it's back to what it was. I'm hoping it's wipes and by not using them it'll go away.

It's bloody annoying, for the first 16 weeks of her life she had a lovely smooth bottom, and it's been horrible red and sore for the last seven

foxythesnowman · 10/11/2007 21:16

by? Buy! why didn't my italics work?

foxythesnowman · 10/11/2007 21:18

teething? did it co-incide with when you started weaning? are you drinking orange juice, or something which she might be getting which could affect her wee? am stumped to be honest.

DynamiteDaisy · 10/11/2007 21:19

hey foxy, we have got her in size 4 dispos, fastened very loose mostly, but not making any difference.

fingers crossed it was better looking after a couple of doses of metanium, but then again it did that after the canesten last weekend.

The doc said if it didn't improve after a week to take her back, so I'll call them on Monday for another appointment. she maybe needs some steroid cream to clear it up.

She was very giddy watching Strictly this evening, bless her.

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 10/11/2007 21:19

night jammy
foxy - sad is really quite enjoying going to sainsburys on a saturday!

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 10/11/2007 21:21

that should have said... sad is ME really quite enjoying going to Sainsburys on a Saturday!

foxythesnowman · 10/11/2007 21:22

Ah Fairy, you are talking to a mother of 4 who thinks going to the toilet by herself is a result!

I was in Sainsburys this afternoon, and realised how lucky I am NOT to have to do it every weekend. Yuk yuk yuk!

DynamiteDaisy · 10/11/2007 21:23

oh, foxy you have to put the round each^ word!

LOL at good housekeeping....am asking DH for a subscription for Christmas

Maybe teething, mybe too much dairy or gluten , maybe too many sweets, maybe too much diet coke, or red wine

foxythesnowman · 10/11/2007 21:23
