DH just rang and woke LO - she is screaming again!

i'm peachy today. keep having to remind DS that he is too poorly for school , and I've just been on the phone to DH who is in Boots directing him to a cloth book for DD (got panicky yesterday that she doesn't have any books and she won't get to love them like the rest of us). Anyway, I'm reading out catalogue numbers and he's got two assistants helping him, one scouring the aisles the other checking the computer to na avail.....when I realised I was looking at sainsbury's christmas gift catalogue . cue one very embarrased DH...

DynamiteDaisy · 09/11/2007 11:48

poor you jammy...is she teething? DD has been again and I find she doesn't settle at all when she's like that.

She's awake too now...better get some clothes on her before the outlaws arrive, or that will be another black mark for me. No doubt I'll be subjected to an hour of how marvellous her other DIL does coping with twins and a three year old

Footwear is the way forward, I think. I am eating TONNES but not actually putting on weight, luckily.
Round of applause for Babyboo

Foxy, my DD strains at the leash to go out (except for school), so can't help. Bribe her with offer ofa cake and coffee (for you)? I quite enjoy doing that with mine.

Sputnik · 09/11/2007 11:56

at Boots debacle daisy

Jammy, could something be up with dD? Cold? throat? Ears?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 09/11/2007 11:58

I think she may well be teething. Might resort to dosing her with Calpol after lunch as I am having haircut and don't want to have to pacify crying monster child throughout

bad mummy alert

i was changing DD on her mat on the coffee table. i let go of her so i could ferret around for a nappy nipper in my baby box......you guessed it, THUD....one baby on the floor . She was more frightened than hurt, and thankfully it's a really low table and is only about a foot high.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 09/11/2007 12:14

My sister dropped her DS from standing height when he was very small. She was mortified but he was OK and GP told her she wasn't bad, he'd done more negligent things.

Accidents happen somwtimes, glad she's OK though.

Ah, don't worry Daisy. Babies are very soft and don't generally get hurt by rolling off something. Its because they don't tense up. I believe that because I have to BTW!

Oh Jammy, I don't know what to suggest other than can you have a duvet day? How about preparing a nice day in bed tomorrow? A good book, the newspapers, DH on hand to bring lo to you for feeding, or having her in bed with you? It really did the trick for me last week. DH could take her for a stroll and you could have a lovely long hot bath. Perhaps he could visit a nice deli and bring you some delicious bits back for lunch.

I may be projecting my ideal day on you, but you get the idea!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 09/11/2007 12:28

Daisy my ds fell off the sofa a few weeks ago! I haven't told anyone, not even dp! I didn't realise he could roll, obv he could! Hope dd is ok (and hooray for her rolling)!

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 09/11/2007 12:33

Quick call on daisy! She neglected to look after her child for 5 seconds! Glad she is ok, it won't be long before she is dive bomb herself off the coffee table!Hope MMR is better, sounds like he is!

Jammy ff and a night off might be just what the doctor ordered! do you have a spare room you can sleep in and leave dd with DH. and at your DH's choice of present from DD! Glad you made him see sense!

My lovely bath with dd turned into poo soup - nice!

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 09/11/2007 12:35

That was meant to be call SS on daisy. I was trying to be funny, but it didn't work, that'll learn me...I'll close the door on my way out.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 09/11/2007 12:40

Sorry about the poo soup Bumper.
Love the idea of that day Foxy. But am settling for them going out on Sunday afternoon (we are lunching out tomorrow with my brother), as long as it's not my present, just something nice they'll do for me once in a while, as so they should. I've lost count of the times I've taken her out for a walk to give DH some quiet to read the paper or whatever.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 09/11/2007 12:42

am now planning what to do on Sunday...

long bath (without hearing DD crying downstairs because mummy's gone away), reading a book, having a nice cup of tea...

Bliss!

Sounds good J! I'd love to have a bath on my own, but I always get a bath full of kids (luckily I have never had poo soup!). I'd be quite happy with my dp taking the dcs out for the day for my bday pressie, but then I'm easily pleased!

My babylegs have just arrived! I'm soooo pleased, they are lovely! They didn't have te standard rainbow stripe in stock, so they sent me the supersoft version for no extra. They are really super soft and gorgeous! Dd loves them and is currently wearing 2 pairs! Ds has got some on too, I don't think dp will be happy about his son wearing legwarmers !

foxythesnowman · 09/11/2007 12:52

bless 'em Holly!

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 09/11/2007 13:05

They are cute (well my ds is)!

I nearly lost it with dd. I finally got ds to sleep after about 2 hours of rocking and swaying and bloody dd woke him up . SHe does it on purpose and thinks it's really funny. The trouble is I can't shout at her coz it'll wake ds up more. I've managed to get him back to sleep and I've put him in dd's bed upstairs as he doesn't have his own bed. She wasn't very happy about that!

Hope you are well foxy. How's the feeding and pumping going?

Sputnik · 09/11/2007 13:06

funny thread alert

Sputnik · 09/11/2007 13:11

I lost with Dd this morning too. She didn't want to go to school and used every delaying tactic in the book.

Sputnik · 09/11/2007 15:19

Lost it, even. My it got lost there.

BadZelda · 09/11/2007 16:01

God Holly - that drives you insane doesn't it? Ella's ALWAYS doing that...in fact it's the reason Matilda rarely naps in the day.

Sputnik · 09/11/2007 16:12

I get the same here. If DD is at home Baby Sputnik rarely gets longer than 45 minutes. he then compensates by marathon sleeps on school days

annobalthebignosereindeer · 09/11/2007 16:55

Hi everyone. Well DS1 and DH have gone to manc to see his parents for the weekend. OMG, I had no idea I would miss them so much. So it's just me and DS2 & 3. DS2 is currently having a sausage roll for dinner in front of the tv .

My ergo arrived this morning. I love it but DS3 hates it - I think that he is maybe too small?? He doesn't seem to like wrapping his legs around my waist (it's not that big). Hopefully he'll learn to like it .

Well done on the rolling babyboo!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 09/11/2007 16:56

ooh and the yummy shoes Bumper . I'm sure you always were a yummy mummy
