I'm trying to decide what colour I want my hair to be. A friend of mine is a hairdresser, working from home. She is going to colour it for me next week.

Hi Sputnik - interesting re keeping bees....you're very brave! Do you get stung very much? Bet the honey is lovely

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 20:24

What are the options MJ?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 07/11/2007 20:28

I did that yesterday Jammy - a friend came over and cut & dyed my hair and cut DS1&2 hair. It was really good fun actually and was much easier than going to the salon.

What colour are you thinking of?

annobalthebignosereindeer · 07/11/2007 20:32

Footy v boring. Only made more exciting by DS3 waking up in the middle of dinner .

I am off to talk to a college tomorrow about enrolling in one of their courses.

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 20:33

Oh what are you doing Annobal?

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/11/2007 20:36

Wanting to go red. A few years ago I had it dyed pretty bright red, and loved it. But I did a lot of swimming, which made it fade fast, and work weren't massively keen, so I let it go. Now I'm not at work at the moment, and can't go swimming as much, it seems a good time to do it again. Been diggin out some old photos to show what I want, and unfortunately they are not very flattering. But this is the sort of thing I'm after (not a photo of me)

Evening all
Re the beekeeping I haven't touched a beehive myself since DD was born, DH deals with them, but we've kept them for years and did it professionally for a few years. I stopped in the end as it's very demanding physically and I was on my own in the end, then you have to actually sell the stuff after, i used to do markets etc. Since then it's been a hobby. The actual working with the bees was fascinating though and quite skilful, I got stung quite a bit at first but you reach a point where you learn how not to piss them off, in the end I worked without gloves. The honey is nice too!

annobalthebignosereindeer · 07/11/2007 20:38

Very nice!

Am looking at doing a natural therapies course. Not sure that I have the time for it but will chat with the college and see what comes of it.

annobalthebignosereindeer · 07/11/2007 20:40

Sputnik, it sounds lovely. I can imagine it would be quite theraputic.

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/11/2007 20:40

Thanks annobal.

Natural therapies sounds good. Hope it goes well.

Evening ladies.

Love that hair Jammy, I really like red hair - especially striking. Go for it! If you can't do it now, when can you?

Sputnik - beekeeping just sounds so cool!

Annobal, that's a great idea.

LO went to GP today. HV had been to see her 'all flustered' after our appointment yesterday. So, the new plan is to express after every feed, and see the GP for a weigh-in next week. I do like making things hard for myself, don't I?!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 20:45

Oh wow - colour is great MJ. Work weren't keen ...Do you see patients? Is that why? What a cheek!

Annobal - sounds interesting. Hope the chat goes well. Perhaps they have some childcare facilities at the college?

Sputnik - What is the trick then not to piss a bee off - cos they scare me silly and I always get told off for over-reacting

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 20:47

Oh Foxy .......you poor thing. Was the GP sympathetic? Hope the plan works....

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/11/2007 20:48

Not a patient in sight! (Which is part of the reason we're having such trouble with Agenda for Change)

OP posts:
HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 20:50

So what has your hair colour got to do with them? Bloody hell! You want to see some of the lot in our labs....I really can't see the issue if you don't see patients!

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/11/2007 20:50

Sorry Foxy, overlooked your message about GP visit . Good luck with the expressing, hope things pick up for you.

OP posts:
nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/11/2007 20:51

Well they didn't say anything, but you should have seen the management team's faces!

OP posts:
HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 20:53

....well definately go red then - shame you should have done it for your interview last week!!! Good god - I'm amazed....

upsyderlor · 07/11/2007 20:53

heelllloooooo lovely ladies

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 07/11/2007 20:53

I think they thought it wouldn't go down well if I had to meet a client.

OP posts:
annobalthebignosereindeer · 07/11/2007 20:54

Hi Foxy, sounds as though the gp is going to talk more sense than the hv and be a bit more supportive. Expressing after each feed should definitely stimulate more milk. Did you get the Urtica Urens?
