Actually the sling covers your breasts if you're feeding because of the way they're in it. Maybe I'm using it oddly, but I've found I can put her in in hammock-stylee and she's v comfy, or alternatively upright, but quite low down on the hips if I want to feed her. The extra bit can be used when you've got it loose to add a bit more support. This may well be boring for the rest of the thread, so feel free to email me if you want more info? zelda at bad zelda dot com Maybe I could video me using it and post it on youtube for you

justbeme · 06/11/2007 22:11

Thanks BZ - i'll look into it more tomorrow am feeling mighty tired myself!

and in fact a cup of Horlicks would "hit the spot" - so I'll bid farewell as well!

Night nightXX (nothing personal you understand!! Lol)

BadZelda · 06/11/2007 22:23

Horlicks BLURRRGGGGHHHHH. That is all. Good Night! zx

Morning! Have just ordered an ergo carrier. I like the look of the close baby one but it looked a bit comlicated for my sleep deprived brain

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 07/11/2007 09:06

Foxy, sorry you are still have problems with DD2. I've emailed you rather than bore everyone with a diatribe on bfing!

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 07/11/2007 09:07

Oooh sorry, hi annobal! let us know how the carrier goes.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:10

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the lovely messages JBM and daisy! I haven't been around much coz I just don't seem to have any time atm!

Trying to potty train dd is a farking nightmare (though we did get poo yesterday!) and ds has started screaming everytime I put him down!

My house is a complete shit hole and I just seem to wash and tidy and then start all over again and the piles of crap get bigger and bigger and threaten to fall on top of me and squish me! I think dp comes home and surveys the damage and thinks "WTF have you been doing all day?", though he never says it. I think if he did I would kindly rip his head off and shit down his neck! He never helps, so how can he expect anything to get done? Yesterday, for example, he got home at about 3. I thought, hooray, he can look after the kids for an hour whilst I put some wahing away and generally tidy. Alas no. He went to play golf and didn't get home til 6. Twunt. Weekends are worse. He seems to think that because it's his "day off" he can sit around in his dressing gown all day and watch tv. Where is my "day off"?

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Sorry for that rant! Hope everyone is well. Going to catch up a bit now!

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 07/11/2007 09:20

Aww Holly, do you say that to him? What would he say if you said "when's my day off"? You sound really frazzled. Could you afford a cleaner?

DynamiteDaisy · 07/11/2007 09:32

Hi holly....sorry your DP is being less than suupportive.

I suggest getting up early on Saturday and getting the dcs ready, depositing them in the bedroom at 9am and say you're off! Go do some (window) shopping, have a coffee and cake, get your hair done....something that's just for you with no DCs around.

.....and you can leave him a pile of laundry to sort and fold as well!

It's been a funny old morning here. Babyboo was up just before 6 for a feed, went back down at 6:20, woke up at 8:15, no time to be fed, laughed and smiled her way through the school run and has now gone back to sleep. I don't know whether or not to wake her or leave her be.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:32

Hey bumper! Hope you are well. How's the feeding going? Have you turned a corner?

No, can't afford a cleaner, even if we could there would be nowhere to clean. Every available surface is covered in crap!

That'll teach me to MN! Before I wrote that last post I took ds's nappy off and put him on the playmat for some nappy off time. Well...he moved right into the corner of the playmat, rolled over and pooed everywhere! All over the playmat, all over the carpet and all over himself! I've cleaned up the small man, now how the fuck do I get baby poo of carpets and play mats? I've run out of carpet cleaner, so may have to go to the shop. BooHoo, all I wanna do is chill! Is it too early to crack open the Pinot Grigio?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:35

Hey daisy!

Leave her be! Make yourself a cuppa and sit and watch daytime tv for a while.

I may try the leaving the dcs at home with him at the weekend (well maybe just dd) and take ds into town with me. Then I can do some xmas shopping in peace!

DynamiteDaisy · 07/11/2007 09:38

lol holly, it is a tad early, even by my wino standards

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:43

Hmmm...maybe I'll wait a bit then!

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 07/11/2007 09:44

I find baby wipes are pretty good at getting stains out of carpets (speaking from experience!)

Thanks for asking about the feeding Holly. Thought we had turned a corner but back again in the past couple of days, but I think it's related to teething. She is definitely getting milk, but she comes off the boob and spits it out, and struggles to go back on again and is arching her back. She often seems to be chewing on her gums and keeps putting her fingers in her mouth, plus she is a little bit spotty on her cheek - teething? I'm still not sure but I think that is what it is.

Daisy I would leave her, but perhaps just long enough to have a cuppa and a catch up on here!

I'm jealous of all your developing babies, rolling over and daisy did you say DD is saying 'mama'? DD doesn't seem interested in rolling over or anything like that. I know she'll do it in her own time but I do fret a little bit that perhaps I'm not encouraging her enough, or doing the right things.

Isawbumperkissingsantaclaus · 07/11/2007 09:49

DH has got a few days off so tomorrow we are going to Brum to do some Xmas shopping!

Daisy I really don't know how you manage on your own (and T if you are out there). Yesterday DH was supposed to go and watch football straight from work, as it was he didn't as he got stuck in stationary traffic for 25 mins and missed it, but as it got to 7pm I started panicking and wondering how I was going manage with DD after having her all day, and wondering if I would get to even eat! That make me sound like a right wet blanket doesn't it. I've just had people visiting all week and weekend and it has made such a difference just having someone in the flat to watch DD so I can go to the loo or have a shower in peace!

DynamiteDaisy · 07/11/2007 09:50

does anyone else find it rather disturbing that we use something with enough industrial solvents in for taking red wine out of beige carpets (yup, been there too ) to wipe our precious babies delicate wee bottoms?

holly....maybe the stain will disappear, just like it does on nappies? I hope it's a bit of the carpet that catches the sun

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:51

Your dd sounds like my ds atm with the feeding. He is very unsettled and shoves his fingers in his mouth whilst feeding. V annoying! I'm pretty sure it's teething as he is v miserable as well.

Re the moving, rolling over thing. Dd was completely stationary until 6 months when she started cruising and she was walking by 10 months. Ds, however, is everywhere, rolling around and trying to crawl. Different babies do different things at different times, don't worry, she'll get there. I found with dd the best thing to do to get them moving is lie them on the floor with a favourite toy just out of reach. You'll be surprised at how quickly she'll work out how to get it!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 09:51

Morning ladies ....just as well I'm typing cos I don't have a voice this morning ....BUT I CAN SHOUT ON HERE

Good to see you Holly....sympathise about mess....my house is a tip atm with only one child and a pretty good DH....sounds like your DP needs a bit of a reality check...

Morning Bumper...did you speak to your mum yesterday?

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:52

I tried the baby wipes on the carpet! Worked a treat! And dp wonders why I use washable wipes!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 07/11/2007 09:54

I find that if I put DD in her cot and go and have a shower, it is peaceful..... cos I can't hear her and am pretty good at ignoring her just for a little while

DynamiteDaisy · 07/11/2007 09:55

bumper....the answer to that one is that I don't really manage, I just kind of muddle by. My house is a tip, I can't remember the last time I hoovered, the iron has gone all rusty on the inside from underuse and i think I know I gave babyboo a bath last week, but I can't remember what day

mind you the doc on monday commented on how lovely her skin is in general and told me once a week was more than enough for a baby.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:55

Hello norty! Poor you! Hope the throat gets better soon.

I think on sat I'm going to take dd round to my parents' and dp and I can blitz the house. Then on sun I shall find some time to be on my own.

deckthehallswithboughsofholly · 07/11/2007 09:56

Oh and I forgot ds's last jabs on mon! My mind has completely gone!

DynamiteDaisy · 07/11/2007 09:58

holly, babyboo does that too....she pulls off my boob to stick her fist in her mouth.....kind of confirms that fist in mouth doesn't equal hungry.

DynamiteDaisy · 07/11/2007 10:03
