EAH- When Luke had his eye test, they got him to look at things with paterns to see if he tried to grab them, like a cross between a black and white optical illusion and a magic eye pic with animals or shapes that jumped out. Then they put eye drops in his eyes to dilate the pupil then, then she looked into his eyes with a light gadgit to check eye health (same as they do in an adult one). She put a weird scope looking thing with a light on on her head and looked through it into his eye. Think it measures the eye length to see if they are too long/short/odd shaped so they can see if they need glasses. She also got him to look at a chart with animals and shapes on it rather than letters.
Not very technical (I am sure UD knows more about the details) but I have to say that if in a routine eye test they have to use the drops, I would not want to take Luke if he did not have to because of DH's eye sight and the fact that he had a suspected suint. He finds it very upsetting and it bothers him until the next day. You have to be careful they do not go in the sun after them as they cant dilate their pupils properly. It might just be like that for Luke, I dont know.
Happy Birthday Mrs Carrot, glad you had a good time. DH is 30 next month and we are planning to go to a new real snow ski slope in Manchester and for a meal afterwards. Hope you had a good night. Last time I had tequilla, it was on my hen night and I puked my guts up after drinking copious ammounts of alcohol then downing 4 in a row The next morning I woke up and I was really worried that I was having a heart attack, my heart was beating so hard!
Wilkie- Not to worry you but we have had 5 pairs of shoes for LUke so far, each costing £25-£27. Thats £125 in 15months, from 13months (he was a slow walker) to 28months His feet just keep growing. I cant even get cheap shoes for him as his feet are so wide, that they squash his feet.
Ruth eats:
1 wheatabix/bowl of porridge/toast with half a bananna
Bread and cheese for lunch (in various forms) with 2 types of fruit (usually half of each)
Milk in afternoon with biscuit/Rice cake (depending on who we are with)
Meat and two veg type teas, about a desert bowlful, which if possible, she eats herself otherwise she winges all through the meal. Then yoghurt and fruit for pudding
Milk before bed.
Loving the new car. Picassos rock!
