Bunnyhunny - I remember vivdly ds1 going from muching anything and everything you put in front of him, to suddenly eating less than would keep a medium-sized fly alive. I was starting to tear my hair out - worried it wasn't enough to keep him alive, irritated at constant rejection of my cooking (don't say it...), worried in case he turned into a faddy eater.
Then I posted about it on his post-natal thread on MN, and guess what? The majority of them were doing exactly the same. IIRC he was under a year old - maybe 10 or 11 months old? So you may well find we all start posting soon that our previously good eaters are refusing to eat. And for ds1 from that time on, he'd follow patterns - eat lots for a few days, eat very little for a few weeks, eat lots, eat nothing. Don't stress it. If he's hungry, he'll eat (says she who used to get her knickers in one hell of a knot over ds1's food refusal! Ah the smugness of a second-time mum !) Definitely go with Lizz's advice not to only give him what he fancies to avoid faddishness (is that a word?!).
Well, we've done soft play, sticky eyes and all . No one said anything to my face, anyway! The next challenge is trying to get us all up and out the door by 7.30 tomorrow morning - chances of not being late for work?? Slim!
Lizz - ds1's gums bled when he cut one of his molars, I don't think it's desperately unusual.
