@Picklesbaby parenting class? I’ve never heard of that!? But I hope it help you get some much needed zzzz’s

We’ve got our 12 month review on the 8th June and they send me a questionnaire to review ahead of time and I’m a bit worried about some of the answers. Grace is walking now so I think she’s doing great on the motor skills sections, but then things like words, she says mama, dada, rara, baba etc. But they’re just sounds, so she doesn’t actually say mama or dada to me or her dad, but looking at the form I don’t know if she should be saying actual words by now?
Also there are things like if you put an object in a basket does she copy you and do the same, no, she normally takes it out or tips the whole thing upside down 🤷🏼‍♀️😂
Not sure if I should be worried or not about these things?

Those whose little ones sleep in until 7am, what time is their morning nap from and till? Grace has a cold and normally she wakes up at 6am and first nap is 9-10.30ish
Because of her cold she has recently been sleeping in until 7am (honestly didn’t know what to do with myself the first couple of times she did it) so she isn’t ready for her nap time until 10am - so I’m wondering if I should let her sleep until 11 and have a full hour or wake her at 10.30 so she has a quick nap and then her afternoon nap is at the same time.
Obviously at the moment I’m just winging it because I don’t know if she’ll revert back to 6am when the cold is gone or not, but in case she doesn’t I’m just thinking about what to do next.

mrssunshinexxx · 25/05/2021 13:36

@Gigitree Nelly wakes between 7.45& 8am and only has one nap 1/1.30-3/3.30pm bedtime 8pm

Picklesbaby · 25/05/2021 14:35

@Gigitree ohh neither have I ! It’s by the children’s centre.. I was a bit 🤨😂I just but just nodded and said yes. I want to be seen as helping him. Jj isnt standing or walking , but says mama dada and hiya . Every baby is so different . He also pulls them out or tips it upside down& the health visitor ticked it as he knows to take them out ?

Picklesbaby · 25/05/2021 14:43

@Gigitree honestly I’m at peace with it now . I can’t see it improving until I stop bf or he goes In his own room .We co sleep every night and he still wakes over 5times . He is every 20mins in his cot .
But We finally have a tooth coming though !!! 😁😁

Busylizzie85 · 25/05/2021 14:53

@Picklesbaby Ivy has got better at sleep on her own, she does does self settle but it never made a huge difference at first but recently with standing and a tiny bit of cruising she now 🤞🏼 on average wakes up only once 😱
We've got molars now that's fun 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

PurpleLaws · 25/05/2021 18:09

@Gigitree I wouldn't worry too much about it. Our development lady said it's roughly the range they fall in.

Our baby says mama to both me and my husband. But she knows he's called dada as I tell her to look for him and she'll go find him.

We've fallen into co-sleeping too, when baby started teething last month. We are down to 1 or no drink in the night so that's an improvement.

Can you believe how close to June we are and to a 1st birthday?!?

Gigitree · 30/05/2021 19:04

@mrssunshinexxx thank you, I shouldn’t of bothered worrying she’s back to her normal 6am wake up 🤪
Oh wow she’s on one nap already? How did you know she was ready? How do you find it?

Gigitree · 30/05/2021 19:07

@Picklesbaby woo hoo his first tooth! You wait they’ll all be popping through now. Grace now suddenly has 3 1/2 (one on it’s way 😂)
How has he been with it? touch wood Grace has been quite good with hers so far.
Thanks for the reassurance re:HV you’re right they are all so different aren’t they, that’s how they keep us guessing 😂

Gigitree · 30/05/2021 19:09

@PurpleLaws

Thank you for the reassurance, I spoke to my sister too as my nephew is 1yr older than Grace and she said he was pretty much at the same level as grace at this age so that’s really reassuring as he speaks really well now etc.

I know! Eek I’m so excited for her to be 1 but so sad at the same time, they’re growing up too fast!

Smiffette · 30/05/2021 19:23

It's scary that they are all starting to turn 1 soon! My little girl suddenly doesn't seem so little anymore... she will be 1 2 weeks today

Gigitree · 30/05/2021 19:28

@Smiffette aww how exciting - what do you have planned for bday celebrations?

It’s crazy isn’t it? I just can’t believe how grown up my little one is.

Any formula feeding mums, are you going to switch to cows milk right away when they are 1? Will you do a straight switch or gradual?

Picklesbaby · 30/05/2021 19:34

@Busylizzie85Awww I’m so glad to hear Ivy is doing well . How much better do you feel getting more sleep ?

@Gigitree the bottom 2 have come through together ! And a top one is on its way 😂 talk about over compensating. He’s really been off his food tbh .

On another note @PurpleLaws yes ! how am I looking for first birthday presents already 🙀

Smiffette · 30/05/2021 20:01

@Gigitree we both have big families so we are just having them over for a little outdoor party. It better not rain !

Re cows milk... my little bottle refuser FINALLY took the bottle a week or so ago and I've been giving her full fat cows milk... the most she's drunk in one go is 5ounces and I'm doing that every bed time ( she still wants some mummy milk) but it's good she will take it and means my mum and hubby can give it to her too.

mrssunshinexxx · 30/05/2021 20:31

@Gigitree yeh she has been since she was 9months old I knew because she started fighting her morning one always took her out for a walk for this one and she would get hysterical and be really unhappy even more so when I put her snooze shade down and shushed her I love it it means we can go to all groups and playgroups in the morn and not worry about a nap and means I get a solid //2.5 hours to do housework and abit of time to chill which will be a godsend as I get further in my pregnancy and once baby here I'm hoping she will stick in this routine for a long time now

Gigitree · 01/06/2021 21:13

Oh wow @Picklesbaby sounds just like Grace, her second top tooth is coming through and a third is on it’s way! Bonkers!
Sorry to hear he’s off his food, I’m sure he’ll make up for it when he’s feeling better!

Sounds good @Smiffette we’re hoping to do similar, hopefully a back garden bbq if the weather stays nice!
That is fab news that she’s taking a bottle, that elevates the pressure on you a bit then, yippeee

Oh wow that’s good to know thank you @mrssunshinexxx
Grace still happily goes down for her morning nap so I’ll follow her lead on that one, I am trying to keep it to 1hrs max though to make sure she has her afternoon nap still.
Aww so glad it’s given you some balance to your day ❤️

Zoey92 · 02/06/2021 21:16

Hi everyone.

Time has definitely got away from me.
Finally moved into our new home 2weeks ago
Little one settle in no problem at all.
She stayed at her Grandmas for the 1st time last week, i had my first night "off" in 11month.....of course all i did was message to see how she was 😂

Amelias cutting her 4th tooth
Shes eating like a right trooper! Still enjoys a bottle in morning & before bed.
Goes down about 7:30 & is like clock work up at 6am.
Full off babas, ooooo's & eeeee's
She's "sort of" standing for couple seconds then plonks down again, no walking on this end yet.
Health visitor due 7th July.
Shes 1 on 24th June...how?!!

Unfortunately things have finally got on top of me & i took a trip to see my GP last week.

How did everyone ls health visitor reviews go that have had them so far?

Busylizzie85 · 03/06/2021 10:45

Had to drop Ivy off to nursery this morning for her first full day, it was the most heartbreaking thing she screamed and screamed and tried to come back to me 😢 I know it will get easier for the both of us and it will help her social skills but I did not think it would be this hard.
I also can't believe she will be 1 next Sunday 😱 we plan to go to the zoo as she loves animals and I have ordered a cake for an afternoon tea party for the Saturday.

mrssunshinexxx · 03/06/2021 12:03

Is anyone else struggling with biting?

Smiffette · 04/06/2021 10:25

@Busylizzie85 ah yes same date as Tallulah! So crazy isn't it!! Weather looks good ☀️☀️ luckily as we are having a garden party with family.

I'm dreading nursery, she still gets a bit upset when I leave her with my mum, she settles very quickly though but Nursery is going to be tough

PurpleLaws · 04/06/2021 14:23

Ooh i like everyone's plans for their little ones birthday.

We've kept ours simple - made a "smash" cake. Little one wasn't a fan but the dogs loves it so at least nothing is going to waste. (It has no sugar so it's fine).

@Zoey92 we didn't have ours HV check in person but it was very quick. Just went through the questionnaire in the post.

@mrssunshinexxx our little girl bites a bit as she uses our fingers to nibble and bite for comfort. We pull away when she bites coz it now actually hurts! She also has her teething toys to bite, along with her clothes and anything she finds around the house and can get her hands on these days! Ps. Congrats on expecting your 2nd - I hope baby no. 2 is doing well

mrssunshinexxx · 04/06/2021 17:28

Thanks so much @PurpleLaws nearly 20 weeks can't believe it

Smiffette · 07/06/2021 23:40

So I'm now dreading nursery even more because I'm not going to be able to take her on her first day 😢😢
I'm having to put her in an extra two afternoons, which means her first day is going to be an afternoon after being with my mum and I'm not going to be there as I work an hour away.... it's making me really really sad and guilty. It also means I'm not sure we will fit in her settling in days.
Im feeling really quite stressed about it all and can't sleep thinking about her being left there 😟

mrssunshinexxx · 08/06/2021 12:56

Can you book Hokiday or a pull a sickie ? @Smiffette

Smiffette · 08/06/2021 13:42

It's my first day back at work so I feel cheeky booking the day off and in my head I think if I'm booking a day off I want to spend it with her...

Luckily I've managed to get her settling in sessions booked for the week before whilst I'm still off so I can at least take her to those and show her (if I'm not crying!!) that it's a safe fun place to be whilst Mummy is at work.

It's just so hard isn't it!

mrssunshinexxx · 08/06/2021 14:03

I take my hat off to you I feel lucky in that I'm a SAHM becagse I couldn't do it BUT she will have a really great time and I'm sure you have picked a fab nursery for her you will be way more upset than her I promise ! Will you be able to pick her up? @Smiffette
