Luce, meant to say that I would imagine the college will understand. I was able to defer out of my dissertation module when pregnant. I was just so tired and had no motivation to do anything! Wasnt a problem at all. Only thing is that I have to restart it soon!

Eddas · 29/10/2007 16:12

that email is in a weird kinda way i like looking at pictures like that, what'a freak

MJ how do you feel atm?

I feel oddly better since doing a few things around the house and also telling my dh how i feel. Although I could've choosen a better time than texting him whilst he's at work. Poor thing! He sugested ringing his mum or SIL to have the dc's for a bit but TBH I don't think it'd help as know i've thought about it, it's my list mountain that really gets to me. Plus MIL works 3-6 so at just after 12 couldn't really have been much help and SIL has 2 boys of her own and will be having dc's for me 3pms a week soon, so really don't wanna take the p!

I need to ring my boss to find out when i go back to work. I need to work out when I think it is and see if it agrees with his thoughts of w/b 26th Nov, coz atm i think it's the week after and want to get my facts straight before I ring and disagree don't want to look like a prize arse if i'm wrong

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/10/2007 16:43

just realised you would all wonder what on earth a geese meeting was

these are the Beyton Geese

We're holding a meeting in the village to discuss their future and whether to get more (they just roam the village and don't have a home as such)

Enjoy the Geese meeting Pillock

Thankyou for advice ladies. Have phoned the college and they were really good. I am going to do the course over two years instead of one PHEWWWW

I am so pleased because it was too much to do in one year at the moment but I didn't want to give it up completely.
Might take you up on your offer though Eddas

KHIN, really sorry to hear that you are having a hard time hope that the doctor helps.

OOoggs hope that you have a better night now that Erin has her first tooth

Sleep vibes to all of the April babies

Eddas · 29/10/2007 17:27

Glad it's sorted Luce. Please ask if you do have any questions on it. I can't guarantee i'll know or that i'll be right but I should be able to help

Lucewitch · 29/10/2007 17:40

Thanks Eddas

Have got an assignment to do might get back to you sooner rather than later!

Lucewitch · 29/10/2007 17:40

'so' not 'do'

CaptainDippy · 29/10/2007 18:25

{{{{{{{KHIN}}}}}}} Know the feelings you describe all too well, email me / FB me!! xx

CaptainDippy · 29/10/2007 18:26

Almost repied: "Which one??"

mammyjo · 29/10/2007 18:50

Cd, made me laugh that dh needs help for P's hair washing!

Luce, glad you got the course sorted out. Must be a load off your mind now.

Eddas, I am ok today. Seem to have good days mostly but then the odd really miserable one. Thankfully the good outweigh the bad. I know what you mean about having a huge list of things to do. I feel like my house is in a permananent pit like state, no matter how hard I try to tidy up. I struggle to keep on top of basic stuff like washing and it really frustrates me. I had pnd after ds was born and it scares me a bit, as my bad days are exactly how I felt back then, but then it was almost every day crap with very few good ones, so I know its not that bad. Hope you have had a better day today Wish I had known about this place when ds was tiny, as I find the support here invaluable. Makes such a difference to know that my feelings are echoed by many others too. At times it can feel like I am the only person in the world who struggles.

CaptainDippy · 29/10/2007 19:16

All hair washed, all tuckled up in bed, sleeping - hurrah! Off out to a Pre-School Christmas Fayre meeting thingy, byeeeeeee .......

oooggs · 29/10/2007 20:05

all in bed asleep after Erin threw up everywhere and they both fell asleep in the car when I went to nursery which was a bit late.

Also no drugs

I'm knackered, been up since 5.30am - bloody clocks

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/10/2007 20:24

Joe projectile vomitted just as I was walking out the door to the meeting
his cough gets really bad when he's laying down or crying lots, and usually when he's tired I can put him in his cot and he goes off after 30secs whinging. Tonight the crying made him start coughing, the lying down made that worse, I picked him up for a cuddle, he coughed more, then whoosh, everywhere.
Went to the meeting, but only for long enough to realise it was gonna be one where they talked themselves round in circles getting nowhere, then I said I needed to get home for Joe

I need opinions
now we have new style MN, if you set it to only show ...posts (i have mine set to 50) then it loads much quicker, so do we still want to keep up the tradition of new thread at 400 posts? or let them run longer?

mammyjo · 29/10/2007 20:29

Poor little Joe. Coughs are so frustrating and there is nothing you can do to stop them either. Hope he is better soon

Oooggs, glad they are all asleep. Am on the case of the email, will have some suggestions by tomorrow for you. Know I said today, but friend has been in work all day - very inconsiderate

Frankendooby · 29/10/2007 20:39

WestCountryLass · 29/10/2007 20:55

Ladies who are weaning, I need your info/advice please!

Leo is pretty much 100% breastfed, he is nearly 7 months (I thought he was 8 months but nevermind...). Anyway, I am weaning him but he apparantly only eats orange vegetables. I have tried doing half and half mixtures or orange things mixed with other varieties and he is not keen. He is only eating a small bowlful of pureed veg in the evening, no fruit, no yoghurt or anything, he cringes if you give him anything sweet like pears/fromage frais etc. He also can't eat lumps, he has sucked the odd peice of bread to a slop but he can't swallow lumps, I gave him a peice of really well cooked pasta today and he gagged on it and threw up.

I am going to let him create the pace that he is weaned at but I am wondering what your 6/7 monthers are eating these days?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 29/10/2007 21:01

wcl, Joe eats everything , but they do all take their own time I guess, I think SOL was having similar issues to you

and Hi dooby
would it help if I email you with a link when we start new threads, so you know where to find us?

OP posts:
gorymacmummy · 29/10/2007 21:43

WCL C makes a funny face most times I give him something new - almost like I'm feeding him lemons. After the 2nd or 3rd time of eating it he gets used to it and doesnt make the face anymore, I read somewhere that it takes 5 or 6 "tastes" of something for a baby to decide whether they like it or not - so its maybe worth persevering - if C really doesnt like something then he doesnt open his mouth.... the only thing so far is turnip

Eddas · 29/10/2007 21:47

DS eats anything and everything, even lumps! Loves cheese spread on toast, yoghurts, fruit puree and rusks! Not so keen on rice cakes but they do taste cardboardy, but dd used to love em!

weepotion · 29/10/2007 22:03

wcl - i am making sauces with veggies and letting her use rice cakes, toast soldiers and veg sticks to mop them up with. she gets pretty much the same as us - but kinda simplified. i am not sressing about how much she is eating as, like you, i am bf. i just want to let her taste stuff and get used to the sensation of chewing/ eating. she doesnt gag nearly as much as she used to. she makes some choice faces at new tastes but as GMM says - they take getting used to. if he is on orange veggies - great!

woudl it be useful for folks if we started an april thread in weaning on what we are giving them with meal and recipe ideas??

Sexonlegs · 29/10/2007 22:04

Hi ladies

Wrote a sodding great post and the PC crashed!

Hope you are all well.

Leaky, when G wakes up, does he just whimper or is it full on yelling? Have you tried leaving him/controlled crying? I just wonder whether he has got used to crying out, you picking him up routine. Sorry to sound so harsh - babies are just so manipulative even at this age. I really hope you have a better night tonight.

Eddas, the pics are lovely! Mad dd you have - as mad as B by the looks of it!

KHIN, I am so sorry you are going through such a hard time. You really have your hands full, and I am not surprised you cracked. I really hope the GP can help you. I wish I could do something to help.

Oooggs and POTC, hope E and J are feeling better soon.

WCL, K is 6 and a bit months, and we have been trying solids for about a month. It is getting a bit better, but she is not overly interested and has nowhere near the amounts that Gina Ford seems to suggest. Probably has the equivalent of 2 ice cubes. She also doesn't seem to know how to eat - just licks at it still like a cat! She also seems to prefer ready made baby food - Plum Baby in particular. The only thing K seems to get really excited about is baby cereal - Organix Apple and Raspberry and Heinz Strawberry and Raspberry. I am trying not to worry about it, as she is such a happy lamb, sleeps well etc.

Hope everyone is well. xx

WestCountryLass · 29/10/2007 22:08

Yes Leo sleeps well, I am not worried so much as looking for ideas. My eldest did not eat lumps for ages as he could not chew (tongue tie) and DD only ate when she could do it herself with the soldiers/breadsticks dunking method and Leo is now a law unto himself as I never had the baby who only eats orange thigns before! They are all different, it is true

busywithIzzy · 29/10/2007 22:14

SOl - Izzy likes the plum baby stuff too, only the ones with peas or pears or sweet stuff added though. Up until about a week ago she licked like a cat but has now started opening her mouth properly. I think it started after we spend all that time in the airport with her only having bf, she was so hungry she decided she better make the most of it.

Weepotion that sounds like a great idea
