2H/RGee started a new game with you

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 20/10/2007 21:46

He says "yes" - I think that's what growing up in Northumberland does for you!

OP posts:
RGEEnie · 20/10/2007 21:48

Why isn't 2H showing up on my game?

RGEEnie · 20/10/2007 21:49

I've added a word. Are we playing?

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 20/10/2007 21:49

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 20/10/2007 21:49

Evening ladies. Whos winning at scrabble? I bet RGee's the scrabble champ. I'm rubbish at it... know lots of words but can't spell any of um!

Welcome Susie! Your LO's sounds very clever with all the talking and clapping etc!! My DS chatters away constantly but I can't really discern any proper words yet. He does say dada and mama but indiscriminately (told you i couldn't spell). He is pretty good at walking though, so maybe as you say they tend to do one or the other!

We went to John Lewis yesterday and had his feet measured and got him his first proper shoes. Posh Clarks ones. £18!!

Stupid of me to spend that much on shoes for him actually cos I am SOOOOO short of money at the moment. It's actually been really getting me down I start work again on Tuesday but i won't get a pay cheque til end November. DP gives me money for household stuff, food, nappies etc. but it's not a lot and only just barely covers the essentials. So I'm feeling a bit down about not having anything at all to spend on Christmas stuff next month... and then just what i've earnt in November to buy presents in December. I know Xmas shouldn't be all about the presents but i've always loved Christmas shopping & buying gifts for people and the money thing is really worrying me this year

On a brighter note... Freddie and I are going to our first 1st birthday party next week!! I'm so excited! I can't believe his little friends and starting to turn 1 already

gobletofblood · 20/10/2007 22:49

Blumin heck Kat I just skimmed the rice cake thread! Not actually been to a group where food is provided for kids but at groups I;ve been at the mums have had healthy and treat options which quite impressed me.

Rgee - whoo hoo to Pippa crawling! She can zip away next time Ellen tries to nick toys from her hand! Sorry about crying off fri night. I had an early night to make up for my long day. Felt better for it today. Hey the swings are Ellen's fave thing at the mo too. I LOVE seeing her face so happy

Susie - hello! Sorry no tips for sleeping. I have been lucky and Ellen sleeps a good 12/13 hours, usually has a bottle 6ish then if we are at home that day, some more sleep cos I just leave her in her cot

UD - snap - ellen waves as soon as anyones back is turned or the door has closed on them. Dh taught her to clap when I was away one weekend and it was sooo cute to see when I got home. Her clap isn't very loud though! I got a playpen from ebay for 50 quid but it was a babydan one that came with all the wendy hosue stuff so was half price. You could try posting on the wanted thread?

Shimmer - how exciting to be going to the first birthday party!

Wilkie - sounds like you are feeling better. PMSL at your variety of faces!!

Been to Clumber Park today to meet younger bro and his wife. Lovely - will def go there again. Tired after walking so snoozed on the way home while DH drove. Chinese for tea - crispy duck from the 'chinky' (HAHAHAH) and then DH did fried rice and chicken w black bean. NOm nom. Ironed, tidied, better go to bed really. Tomorrow we have a christening to go to then MIL staying withus cos she is looking after Ellen on Monday. I spent ages earlier trying to decide what to buy as a christening present. Decided on a book of 100 kds poems cos I loved having poems read to me when I was little and still remember loads of them.

2happy - where do you live again. I've forgotten.

WeeWitchyWilkie · 21/10/2007 07:55

Shimmer - bummer about money. We are kind of in a similar boat, not totaly skint but skint enough. Think I mentioned it earlier on the thread but we are having a £10 Christmas!! Everyone's pressies must cost no more than £10. I am actually having great fun finding presents for £10 - it is harder than you think. Maybe you could do something similar? Christmas for me is about having the family all together - I actually couldn't care less if I got any presents.

Had a BAD night here. J woke at 2.50am until 4.30am then again at 5.30am. Bleurgh. Not used to broken nights anymore (sorry to those who are still having them).

theUrbanDevil · 21/10/2007 08:00

Susie - whereabouts in Surrey are you? PIL live in Dorking, not far from London! we could come and see you one weekend when we're down there!

well Z waited till 6:30 till he bounced on my head this morning! clever boy! dh is in bed with what looks suspiciously like a hangover, but what he claims is a migraine. would have loved to play scrabble last night but Z wasn't very well and I had a stinking headache, so we were curled up together by half 9! wow, my Saturday nights are just so exciting!!

WeeWitchyWilkie · 21/10/2007 08:04

UD - my Saturday night: doing some work from home, playing internet Scrabble, washing up

Usd to be: going out in best slapper clothes , getting hammered and havign sex in risque places with DH.

I'm a classy bird.

eandh · 21/10/2007 08:28

well wilkie text me to play scrabble and on my sat night i was ironing!!

Not to bad a night hattie slept 6.45 till 3.30 stuck dummy in slept till 5 put her in bed with us but by 5.30 she was awake so came down with her as dh and ellie were snoring. They both got up at 7

We are not to bad money wise dh does work loads of overtime so we are never overdrawn but we do have a bit of a hefty credit card bill from variou things but we are paying it off and attempting not to spend to much on it!!

UD Have a look on freecycle/local paper I know eddas had a playpen at her old house, will ask her if she still has it as don't think she'll be using it in the new house (was a hexagonal one that could be a stairgate/fireguard/pen thing

this is dh face if I even offer a bj (just cant face them these days!!) am off to town at 10.30 as my purse (its my fav thing and had it for 3 years) has finally fallen apart so need to get a new one. DH off work this week but he has the girls on his own most of the week (working monday, I am having a day out wednesday and working again on friday will be interesting to see how he gets on!)

Susie I am in Kent, Shimmer is in London and lizz/pinkcandyfloss/lth are all brighton/worthing way, think vino/rgee/laughalot/2happy/wilkie are all northerners and ud/carrot are somewere in between, actually where is mrscarrot havent seen her for awhile

theUrbanDevil · 21/10/2007 08:35

EAH - i've seen mrsC popping up on msn now and again, so she's still around!!

what can we do today? i'm so bored! Susie is that a picture of Avebury on your profile? or is it the one down in Cornwall?

eandh · 21/10/2007 08:41

ud you can got to my il's for me (shes cooking roast beef plus trimmings) and I can stay at home and watch tv in peace

although you'll have to contend with
94 year deaf great nanny,
87 year old great grandad obsesssed with rats and
86year great nanny who will ask you same question every 5 minutes,
il's (they are perfectly nice and fairly sane),
bil/sil (probably be hungover!)

plus 8 year old nephew (he wont speak and will be on his dslite all afternoon) and 7 year old neice (who will moan that ellie is annoying her and she wants to watch high school muscial!)

theUrbanDevil · 21/10/2007 08:44

think i'll pass thanks - though yummy roast dinner sounds tempting! hmm, maybe i can persuade dh to take us out somewhere for roast dinner? he's still in bed with his "migraine".

eandh · 21/10/2007 08:52
