welcome back caz and trixi yes, you must fill us in on all your news... how were births and early weeks etc!!!!

Mrsslocomb · 30/11/2007 20:00

hello to caz and trixi, lovely to have you back with us ( I'm Kitty by the way fancied a change of name!)
Sorry, I've read through your posts but haven't had a chance to give a response that is more than the typing equivalent of a grunt .

I've worked out that Ronnie has this so I've been busying about taking him to the drs to get a referal and today I took him for a Bowen technique session. That has helped him a lot already.
Love to all xx

trixabelle · 30/11/2007 20:38

nice to be welcomed! hello everyone who remembers me . . well i decided to give the internet a total break. it's good to see mumsnet just the same well my little one is very lovely, he's sitting up and rolling around and generally being very smiley and cute, his big sis adores him, i'm finding it really tough on my own with 2 at times but i'm surprising myself by how i'm coping, have learnt how to ask for help when i need it and generally just motivate myself to stay positive or at least not too negative . . err the birth was tough but i got there in the end . . how bout you all boys or girls, how's it all going?

cazboldy · 30/11/2007 20:55

my birth was fab!
she was born in the bath just as the mw walked in the front door!
6lbs 14 oz and she is absolutely gorgeous! (even if I do say so myself)
we called her molly and all her brothers and her sister love her to bits!

spongecake · 30/11/2007 21:07

hi trixibelle, great to hear all is going well

bethoo, your dp sounds (sorry for being blunt) a nightmare and doesn't treat you right. think you know this though- the new chap sounds nice though.

my brother helps with my dad, my sister and i are not on speaking terms since my wedding.
i don;t live near enough to pop in (about 2 hours drive) so have to just offer phone support for now. the docs said he should just go to a and e if he feels that bad. at least he will be seen (their words!)

must write christmas list as am sadly behind

DeathBySnooSnoo · 30/11/2007 21:48

caz-hello!i thought there used to be somebody else who was expecting no.5lol@giving birth in the bath.my little Elsie is 8.5 months now,and it was lucky i was being induced as my 2nd stage lasted just 2 minutes.

trix-MN is the same as ever from what ive seen.i was taking things a bit too seriously on here so had a long break and am supposed to be sticking to this thread only.

are either of you on facebook?

bethoo-i meant to say before,i was never ever going to have another relationship, but thought there was no harm in taking the oppurtunity to have some fun with a younger man.so you never know, the cable guy could be 'the one'

Rosylily · 30/11/2007 22:09

Oh yes, head like a sieve, Trixabelle, I forgot you already had a little one.
I remember you Cazboldy. your labour sounds great. Mine was pretty good. I bounced on a ball for most of it in time to music on the radio.
Hasan was attacking ds2 today and they were rolling about like puppies and my baby suddenly seemed like a little boy

fitfox · 30/11/2007 22:40

MrsS that's eally interesting andreminds me a lot of Talepes (which runs in my family and can also be corrcted by massage and muscle stretching). Hopefull your GP will refer you to a good specialist who canshow you al the excercises to do. How did you discover what it is?

Rosylily · 30/11/2007 23:23

MrsS I've never come across that before. Good that you spotted it by the sounds of it.

MrsSlocomb · 01/12/2007 08:11

Foxy, it had been bothering me for a while, as you know, and I just happened to see a thread on here about flat head syndrome and someone mentioned the twisted neck, so I googled it.
Babies with wry neck can be prone to flat heads as they favour lying on one side. Luckily ( or unluckily depending how you look at it!) Ron hated lying down so much that he never even got a bald patch let alone a flat head .
He hates being stretched but he loved the massage ( boy after my own heart).
I'm impatient as I want it to go away NOW.
Was the massage and stretching sucessful for the talapes?

Rosy, get Hassan going in for the scrum! He must be a sturdy tough little man! I still think of Ron as so fragile and delicate

fitfox · 01/12/2007 10:11

MrsS yes it did. I had Talepes so did my brother and neice and massage/excercises corrected it in all of us. Ronnie will be fine I am sure - just as well you found out while he is still young so it can be treated

fitfox · 01/12/2007 10:39

Hiya please look at my thread - views welcome

Mrs S I bet you're relieved now you know what it is and how to help with it... although I can imagine you are frustrated you can't help him more quickly.

Hi Cazboldy and welcome back too!

Now we need Onily and Booboo to come back too... and there are others who've gone AWOL, Dolly, and I've not seen Shanks or Jay for a while (although they might be on antenatal clubs now) and Leo... anyone I've missed?

Rosy isn't it weird when they actually start to look like a child rather than a baby? It's good in some ways as you know they're growing up and developing well, but in another way it's a bit sad...

Evenhope Bertie feeds through the night; I don't mind too much though. It's weird, some nights he goes ages without a feed, then other nights he seems to be on me like you say almost every hour... seems to be no rhyme or reason to it! Still, he sleeps longer in the evenings now which is the main thing for me...

Sponge I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. It sounds difficult for you. {{{hugs}}}

Piffle are you feeling any better now?

Can anyone who is working outside the home and still bfing please have a look at my thread in the feeding section? TIA X

amie has gone awol as well.

i finally got round to getting Elsie a highchair.she looks all grown up sitting there eating her tea.and she just waved at ds1.

my other baby girl is 2 in less than a week...where does the time go?

Mossy · 01/12/2007 18:21

Aw that's cute! So she knows how to wave now!? That's impressive!

I have a high chair for Bertie but it was a second hand one I got given and it's rubbish! So I just use his walker (he's too little for his feet to touch the ground bless him).

MrsSlocomb · 01/12/2007 18:22

I know snoosnoo, dd3 is 2 just before xmas.
She had ds1 in a headlock at dinner time. Don't need to worry about her looking after herself at preschool in january .
'Asbo' is handing over her title to dd3 now

MrsSlocomb · 01/12/2007 18:23

oh yes and I weighed them all today on my rather inaccurate bathroom scales, but dd3 weighed exactly the same as dd2

cazboldy · 01/12/2007 19:19

my ds3 will be 2 just after new year.
mrs s my sisters little boy is 5 and ds3 is only 4 lbs lighter than him!

MrsSlocomb · 01/12/2007 19:55

big fat toddlers eh?

trixabelle · 01/12/2007 20:51

what i meant by my random comment 'how are you all boys or girls', was, did you have a boy or a girl and how did birth etc go?? lol.. i'm assuming everyone on here is female

trixabelle · 01/12/2007 20:53

my baby boy is still very much a baby! i am 99% sure i won't have anymore children tho so i think i'm baby-ing him a lot more than i did his sister, who is now 5 going on 15 . . . a lot has to do with how you see them doesn't it? he'll probably still be my baby when he's 30

trixabelle · 01/12/2007 20:54

hey does anyone have any wise words about babies refusing bottles when they're teething? or can anyone direct me to a thread? i just got him off the breast and onto bottles a few weeks ago; now he's cutting more teeth and he won't really drink the milk, i'm a bit worried

fitfox · 01/12/2007 21:50

!!!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2724/433045?stamp=071201204625

Trix I have the same problem atm wih Monti - its a real battle to get him to take the bottle. AM BF ad expressing with teeny its of fomula late at night but its the bottle itself he hates - just chews on the teat.

DeathBySnooSnoo · 01/12/2007 22:07

trix-i have no wise words but plenty of empathy.apart from shovelling calpol+teething powders down them before giving the bottle, and trying different brands of teat(Elsie will sometimes drink from softer ones when shes teething)theres not alot you can do.oh,and i find putting off the bottle as long as possible so they are too hungry to care about the pain helps if all else fails.
my ds2 is 4 and still my baby boy.dh keeps telling me he's not a baby but i cant help feeling protective towards him.apparently i'm stricter with dd2 than i am with him.

mrsS-i weighed dd2 and Elsie on the bathroom scales,Elsie is about 23lbs and dd2 about 27/28.they also share socks and some clothes!
i caught dd2 posting the cat through the banisters yesterday so it fell down the stairs.she was laughing her head off
