1 tog one please dippy!

Hello everyone!

KHIN - about your camera. At least you're ok though.

Oooggs no idea about poos, Izzy is once or twice a week...I think...I don't really keep tags

AloPesha · 30/09/2007 20:50

SPB - think it was you asking about weaning, I think alot of guidelines about when to introduce which foods are about traditional weaning from 4 months and introducing textures slowly and some foods not being suitable till after 6 months. As none of that is relevant with BLW I think its just give them anything (within reason!) and see what they like. Although I think there are a few foods that are wait until older, I know honey is 1year. Wrt salt advice is dont add extra salt to food you prepare and avoid particularly salty foods such as processed meals for adults but normal food such as bread and butter with salt content is fine.

Oooggs I would be inclined to offer an extra milk feed before lunch if I were you, I think solids are meant to be supplementary to milk for first year but I wouldn't worry too much about it, babies are very good at gettng things their way aren't they?!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IDOC

Have had very good weekend with Ellie, was lovely meeting Octo yesterday. Think Maia was pretty keen on Stan too! Think we may have to meet up again! Have some lovely pics, I'll try and post some tomorrow.

Took Ellie out last night and got her drunk! She is very funny and rather norty when drunk!! Stayed up chatting till half 4 ish though so VERY tired. I asked dp once she'd left if he liked her and he said yes but abit too much like me Think a weekend of 2 women taking the piss was abit too much for him! Joe is stiil gorgeous but much more work than Dylan, I changed his nappy and he's wriggling all over the place, wants to be sat up all the time and generally keeps her very busy. I'd forgotten how hard they get, I used to pin ds1 down with my feet when changing his nappy! PFB mums - dont judge me till you get there!! And Matthew is very sweet too obviously. We had slightly less squabbles between the older 3 dc this weekend than last as they seem to be getting used to each other. Although some squabbling between matthew and nathan over the babies - they just love them so much! Nathan had a bit of a soft spot for Ernie yesterday too and was harassing him for cuddles and kisses for a while.

Ellie is currently on M3 on her way home. A303 was bit of a nightmare in places but things are clearer now I think so fingers crossed it stays that way.

busywithIzzy · 30/09/2007 20:54

Oh Yes Happy Birthday IDOC. Hope you've had a good day.

oooggs · 30/09/2007 20:58

I have lit the fire successfully - hurrah I have heat

Sexonlegs · 30/09/2007 21:07

Oooggs, meant to say tht I recall reading somewhere (possibly GF) that once babies are on 3 meals a day they need to have about 20 ounces of milk a day (including that which is included in their food - yogurts etc I imagine) for the first year of their lives.

Blimey Pesha, you must be shattered!

Hope Ellie gets home ok bless her.

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 21:08

Oh KHIN & . At least you're ok. Was it your new camera aswell??? Glad you enjoyed the gig tho and still v of you.

SPB - pmsl at cleaning with patio spray thingy . Also had crap pics from Bounty woman (you mean the person who came round in hospital don't you?). We sent them back cos they were crap. She took a few and Erin was really nice on them but the one they sent out for us to approve was the only one where she was crying - WTF????

Maveta @ dh.

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 21:11

Blimey, x-posted then.

Glad you & Ellie had a good time Pesha! (come on...dish the naughtiness )

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 21:50

Erin's been sick...she's hardly ever sick and she's puked loads.

StealthPolarBear · 30/09/2007 21:56

oh no had she just guzzled milk? Hope she's OK
Yes, I mean the woman in hospital, she showed us the picture on a laptop (I think) then and there and even in my new mum high I could still see it was awful! They then sent a letter later on with a mini picture in case we'd changed our mind.

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 21:57

No, she had her last feed at about 5pm. dh is calling a doc cos we can't seem to stop her being sick.

StealthPolarBear · 30/09/2007 21:59

oh no is she still doing it?
Has she seemed well otherwise?
Sorry, will let you get on calling doc but let us know

busywithIzzy · 30/09/2007 22:09

Hope Erin ok Nutty.

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 22:12

f'ing doctors...they don't seem to give a shit. Advice: give her calpol and see if she's ok in 24 hours.

StealthPolarBear · 30/09/2007 22:20

is she still doing it?

weeonion · 30/09/2007 22:21

oh nutty. how is she now? did you try nhs 24 or ring A&E directly?

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 22:25

She's been sick again. Doc said he wasn't worried cos she had only been sick for less than an hour...but not to worry unless she's still ll tomorrow (which doesn't make much sense to me). Dh rang our surgery's number which then puts you through to an on-call doc.

How long should I give it before going to A&E? She's asleep at the mo but she keeps waking to be sick iyswim.

busywithIzzy · 30/09/2007 22:25

Is she still being sick Nutty?

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 22:25

ill not ll

weeonion · 30/09/2007 22:26

nutty - i dnt want o scare monger but if you are worried - ring A&E and say t them. if the doc is not woried as she hasnt been ill for over an hour - then tell A&E that it is over an hour.

busywithIzzy · 30/09/2007 22:27

Sorry x posts

busywithIzzy · 30/09/2007 22:28

I agree with WO.If you are worried you should ring someone else...Mummys know best.

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 22:29

Well she seems to have got into a proper sleep so will wait and see if she wakes/is sick again. If she is then we'll ring A&E.

weeonion · 30/09/2007 22:31

ok nutty. if she is sleeping - you go and make a cuppa and relax. let us know how she/ you are in a while. x

nappynuttynormabutty · 30/09/2007 22:32

I'm gonna be up all night now with dh. Neither of us wants to go to sleep in case she's sick again.

AloPesha · 30/09/2007 22:34

I think the main health worry of a baby being sick is dehydration and so I think thats why dr is saying wait cos obviously that wont happen straight away. Would keep offering water even is she's not wanting milk. Remember that only a small percentage of what goes in actually makes it back up again so alot will be staying in too.

I would ring nhs direct - they are super cautious IME and if they think theres any chance of it being anything remotely possibly maybe slightly serious they will tell you to get it checked out with dr or a&e. If they say its prob okay then it is!

I know how horrid it is when they're ill, especially when they're still little babies Hope it doesn't seem like im being dismissive rather than reassuring which is what I'm trying to be!

How is she now?
