Having got me up at 6.30 my family are all now asleep
After 3 cups of coffee I'm wide awake.
Oh no, that might be the sound of DH going in the shower. Annoying thing is we try to have breakfast together at the weekends so I've been waiting 2 hours!!!

Felt crap with cold yesterday morning. Dh kindly got up and let me have a 2 hr lie-in! I'm returning the favour today but I have had my juice and cereal already. You're very good to wait for dh.

Morning. I have concluded that I can no longer keep up...thread moving too fast again and I don't seem to get any good stretches on the pooter where I can just sit and read. Not that that's a bad thing of course .

Anyway, happy 6 month birthday to all the 6 monthers.

(Oh, and happy birthday to me as it's mine today!).

Sorry, now that is what I call a v selfish post . Off out to have yummy lunch and get lightly pissed later .

Hello

Haven't got a hope in hell of being able to catch up, but I hope everyone's ok, and that lo are behaving themselves

Had an absolutle shite week last week. Dh worked mega long hours, W was (and still is) going through a growth spurt/teething, J was ok but just wanted my undivided attention all the time.
My boss STILL hasn't replied to my letter about my return to work (sent over 2 weeks ago!)
Got to redo our bathroom, which we were going to do anyway, but it has become a bit urgent as the ceiling is starting to flake, and bits are falling off

Anyway, lots of love to you all xxxxxx

(ps, have you sent you all a "money off" e-mail for the ELC)

Hi again,

IDOC, have a wonderful birthday - get VERY pissed!

Loved the chat about the ice cream. Men are such peasants aren't they! Dh hates fancy stuff - give him a ham and cheese baguette any day!!

Runny, cannot believe your boss hasn't contacted you yet.

Have you called him to see if he received it ok? I would if I were you.

Leaky, good to see you too. Hope your tonsils are better. Great news about G as well.

BWI, blimey 10 days with the in-laws - you need a bravery award!

Apologies, can't remember anything else. Still feel shite tbh.

Hope all is well with you and babes etc. x

Hi all.
Oooggs, I would think that as long as Erin and Jack are both still having wet nappies then they are getting enough milk IYSWIM. Its difficult to make them take more milk if they dont want it. What sort of foods are you giving them for each meal? May be worth trying water at meal times, at least you can increase their fluid intake a little without putting them off the food. Am starting F on 3 meals today as the last 2 nights she has had me up 8 times so am hoping more food may help. It did when we went from 1 to 2 meals.

Runny, nice to bump into you yesterday

Lol at CD's fishwife!!

See you all later xx

Not dressed yet ....

The closer weaning gets the more lost I am about it - don't really know where to start. Think I need to go and do a bit more research on blw.

Hi everyone, love the ice cream and chocolate talk. Ice cream is one of my favourite things in this world but we are not allowed to buy it very often because I have no self control and eat it all at once whenever we do have it

Leaky, I´m so glad to hear everything is okay and no more hospital visits, what a relief for you all.

Am feeling very cross with dh. He has been out to practice with his band 2 nights this week (he works 10-2 then 5-8 so when he has rehearsal he leaves home for his afternoon shift at 4.30pm and goes straight there after work, getting in about 11.30pm) and then last night had a gig so he left at 6.30pm but then after one delay and another they didn´t play til 12.30 and he didn´t get home til 2.30am! That´s all fine, I worry more for him that he´ll be tired but it doesn´t bother me. But of course he´s knackered today and was being a bit of a grump and when I asked what was wrong said "I´m just tired of running around after N all the time"!!!! I was LIVID. Took N and went off to my mum´s and when I came back told him exactly what I thought of that. I support him doing what he wants re. his band etc. but then to turn around like that. THEN we all went for a nap and he thought he´d try it on! Yeah. Right. I do not think so.

Humpf.

lol SPB at that pic. I am very judicious in culling any less than flattering photos of N Can´t have anything lying around that in later years could be used to suggest my darling boy was anything less than The Most Beautiful Baby on the Planet

Octo - how cute re. stan´s crush awwwww.

SPB - how scary, I am terrified of something stinging N.. speaking of which, does anyone have a first aid book for babies they can recommend? I really need to get one..

Also, re weaning. I go through moments of clarity swiftly followed by sheer confusion. From what I can gather with BLW you just give them a couple of bits of food on their tray when you are eating and mostly let them play with it, I don´t think much will go in at first.. and carry on feeding on demand (or on whatever schedule you were on before). As they eat more they will drop milk feeds themselves.. At least, I THINK that´s the idea

N has only woken once in the night the last 2 nights, he eats at 7pm, wakes at 11/12 for a feed, then at 2am but then through til 7am. YAY! One night he had a bottle of formula at 11pm and one night he had bf and still not giving him any food. My conclusion? Don´t try and change anything you do because it will all be irrelevant, the baby is going to sleep as much or as little as it likes and you can do NOTHING about it

LOL
We had all these wonderful pictures showing him at his beautiful self and then she took that awful one and expected us to pay for it
It's actually worse than it looks in that picture, he has a really red, blotchy face and wrinkles. That's ignoring the fact he looks like he's about to punch someone!
I'd also be interested in first aid books if people have recommendations.
I think I'm happy with how to do the BLW thing, I think I'm just confused as to what he can and can't have. For example, in normal weaning you would usually start with vegetables, then going on to fruit and then meat later - is that the same or can I include meat straight away? You're not meant to give them any salt, so can he have bread - most bread contains salt doesn't it? (I know that's not just for BLW)
