I'm off to bed too now...good night!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 10:50

she's fine, but she has fed three times since 7:30am though

We're off to IKEA today....I really know how to chill out and relax don't I? DS is finally getting his ladder bed! He's very very excited about it. I also want to get a little wardrobe for DDs room as I'm fed up tripping over toys on the floor of DSs room to get to his wardrobe where we currently keep her things.

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 10:59

Just read this birth announcement and feeling very weepy and broody now

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 30/09/2007 11:04

Morning ladies!

Bumper - this might sound silly - but could it be related to the 'taste'?????? Might it be worth keeping an eye on what you eat - and see if there is a pattern.
When I was defrosting some breast milk a few weeks ago - the smell of garlic was amazing - it must have been what I ate before I expressed!??

Daisy - bloody hell woman! IKEA! AT THE WEEKEND! You're brave!!!!

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 11:43

or mad, I'm not sure which!

bumperlicious · 30/09/2007 12:02

Possibly dkma - anyone know how long things take to get through the breast milk?

foxybrown · 30/09/2007 12:27

I don't think it takes long bumper, tho I can still smell the curry i had two nights ago seeping from my pores. nice!

Charlie, that is such a shame. Daisy's top idea for a leisurely lunch sounds good. Perhaps she just got a shock of the unfamiliar when she woke up, or simply tired and grumpy. Like the rest of us!

Do ikea deliver in your area Daisy? but I suspect MRR won't allow the plan to be changed now. You'd better get cracking, that bed is going to have to be ready for bedtime if your DS1 is anything like my DSs!

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 13:50

Afternoon....DD slept well last night I'm glad to say although is still a bit grumpy. Refused her lunchtime feed and went to sleep instead so I'm hoping she'll wake up hungry!

Leisurely lunch with mum sounds like a great idea - thanks ....was hoping to get over today to go to cemetery with her but am just TOO knackered and DD TOO grumpy...perhaps tomorrow. If DD feels anything like DH and I...its no wonder she got the strops last night ...wasn't very nice though

Bumper....as a non-BFer, my ideas may be crap...but is it possible she's just not hungry? My DD often goes 5-6 hours now and rarely cries for a bottle....but if she really doesn't want it...she certainly lets us know ...just a thought?

STILL catching up on last week...upto Tuesday now

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 13:54

BTW Daisy...that birth announcement was lovely...is that what an elective was like for you as well? Next time that's what I'll be doing....no being brave for me I'm afraid

Had to do another pregnancy test this morning but it was negative thank god ...I appear to have completely skipped a period....is that normal after having a baby?

BadZelda · 30/09/2007 14:18

Charlie, not sure if it's because I was BF, but it was over a year before I got a period after having DD1 - and no sign of AF since having DD2 - so I'm assuming it will be similar.

foxybrown · 30/09/2007 15:33

hiya, I think it takes a while to get regular again, probably why GPs bang on about contraception all the time.

I've just made the Cook Yourself Slim Lemon Cake. Its absolutely fab, and only one WW point a slice! (Obviously I had to try it as soon as it came out of the oven). Can't wait to try the Chocolate and Beetroot cake next.

Right, off to do a Sunday Roast. Its nice to be cooking again, I went off it when I got pregnant and am getting all enthusiastic about it again so am happy to have something to do!

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 16:50

BZ, I am most at no period for a year. I got mine at 9 weeks, inspite of BFing

Bumper, I think I read somewhere its about 24 hours for flavours, but I might be wrong.

Do you drink herbal teas? I found an article on kellymom about herbs that reduce your milk supply and peppermint is one of them. I've been drinking lots of peppermint and jasmine tea....yikes.

Charlie, I'm pretty sure after DS my period was irregular for ages.

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 16:52

Thanks BZ and Foxy - I'm FF so expected things to get back to normal a bit more quickly. Wasn't sure whether to go to GPs or not....and REALLY don't want to get pg just yet

Read up till last Wednesday now .....glad things weren't too bad at work TA....A little part of me (the bit that does all the farking housework ) is looking forward to going back in December, but a big part of me (the bit that looks after DD) isn't .....how very Andiem I am.....you lucky thing...I don't have a choice unfortunately....

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 16:52

Thanks Daisy - x post. I'm not going to woory then....and stock up on cheap pg tests from e-bay

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 16:54

Anyone on here doing SW online? Need some experiences on whether to do it on-line or go to meeting each week - although it won't be long before I get fed-up with all the patronising bollocks .....Peter Kay springs to mind

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 17:07

Charlie, I tried SW online a few years ago. It was very expensive I thought (about £20 iirc) and didn't include meetings. I need the meetings to motivate me....it's the stepping on the scales thing.

If you do WW you get meetings and on-line for £17.

IKEA was hell on earth....why oh why did we go???? But DS was reasonably OK this time, apart from when we lost him after we had had something to eat. It was soooooo busy and he just disappeared. Thankfully he had the sense to go back to where we had been sitting in the cafe. It was a real heart palpitation moment. I'ver drummed into him that if he ever loses us again, he has to go to a member of staff.

He is giddily excitable about his ladder bed. DH was going to build it tomorrow, but nooooo, DS is under his feet constantly about it!

trendaverter · 30/09/2007 17:33

Hi Charlie,
Yes work is fine actually, I am really enjoying being 'me' again but I am still 'mum' too. I am actually really pleased with how well it's working out so far.
I also love having my own money and so on..and as I earn more than DH, it's all good
Despite me being a contractor (and thus, scum of the earth), they are being really flexible about my hours too. As long as I do my 8 hours a day they are happy.
I do need a cleaner though, have spent the best part of the weekend trying to restore order in the house! (but then again I am like aggie in how clean is your house, if it looks lived-in, I get narky and clean up).

andiem · 30/09/2007 17:36

daisy I sympathise the los just can't wait can they but you are brave ikea on the weekend if we want furniture I make my dh go in the evening on his own you weren't tempted by the xmas stuff then

Charlie good on you thinking you might be preggers we've only done it once so far and I need ivf anyway so no contraception here. I am still anxious about being a sahm as I have worked for so long but it feels like the right thig for me to do at the mo. I can always get another job if I don't like it

foxy I know what you mean about cooking I have really got back into it the last couple of weeks. I really enjoy it. Made the lemon cake too and it is yummy. Have the new nigella book and have already cooked about 10 things from it it is great

Bumper hope you are feeling better and have done nothing all day

dh is off to new york this week so on my own again

Twiga · 30/09/2007 17:39

Hello ! Just nipping in very quickly now we're finally back on-line - promise to read back at some point and get caught up soon.

Sorry for the thundering silence over the last couple of months. We moved to Edinburgh when Luke was around 7 weeks old. Prior to that we had a mad selling, buying time of it with houses etc - dh ended up starting his new job and moving down without us for the first 3 weeks - stayed in hospital acc. Our broadband order got mucked up so we finally got internet back on at home start of this week. Not really sure where the time went to but it was all very hectic and stressful, only really just starting to get my head together. Been feeling pretty down and lonely but starting to feel settled and meeting folk so hoping will improve soon.

Luke is doing well, was 3 months yesterday. He's a big lad who's gonna be tall like his dad - he's been in his 3-6 month clothes for the last fortnight and they're not that big on him either. Still bfing at the speed of light but calmer and not so gulpy. Generally a smiley wee mister who is very laid back and loves cuddles - not fussed who from. Dd has taken to him well although she just doesn't get that he's much smaller and can be a bit rough with him at times. She was 2 a couple of weeks ago.

Hope everyone and their wee ones are doing fine, it's nice to be back. Tea ready do gotta run but will be back more often now. Take care x

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 18:36

Hey Twiga . We were wondering where you were!! It's nice to hear from you and I'm glad DS is doing well. The time has certainly flown in. We're all on facebook so we can share photos etc, you'll need to join up and post some photos

I'm very of you living in Edinburgh. I lived there for 15 years and really miss it.....

We'll catch you later

The bed is nearly built....We can now put the sofa bed underneath it as well as free up lots of floor space in DSs room. He's all geared up for pyjama parties now [fear and dread emoticon] I think we're all sleeping in there tonight, just for a laugh!

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 18:51

DD was in DHs arms there and I was talking to her. I turned to leave the room and she started howling. When I went back she held her arms out and tried to wriggle from DH to get me . It's the first time she's done that clever girl!!

andiem · 30/09/2007 19:06

aah daisy makes you feel really special doesn't it

at pj parties

sorry am crap at facebook can only manage one cyberworld at a time

Charlie999 · 30/09/2007 19:10

Ahh Daisy..that's lovely.

Still catching up.....and need to put in things while I remember so apologies if i've missed the rest of the convo....

Jamantha if you have an NHS pension like me then you are not alowed to make extra contributions when you go part-time. AVCs can only be made if you have missed some years apparantly. But I am not having a break from paying into my pension but will contribute less when i go PT....so no choice. However, I'm told I'm lucky to have a final salary scheme so can't moan . Hopefully, it will be an average salary scheme by the time I retire....

Andiem Hope you get to use those frozen embryos and you have 3 more little Andiem's ...triplets would be LOVELY

bumperlicious · 30/09/2007 19:11

andiem · 30/09/2007 19:17
