My darling boy's birthday today

We gave him a Fisher Price Little People garage as his main present, which he loves, as well as loads of Bob the Builder trucks and Thomas the tank engine bits.

He's currently having a nap, then we're having a little birthday tea later.

A good day SM x

Happy New Year everyone.

We had a great Christmas/New Year visiting my parents and the IL's. MIL is great, she whisks ds away to go and play and I get to spend 2-3 days sitting around drinking tea and eatiung biscuits. She gets up when ds wakes up and takes him straight away so dh and I can have a nice peaceful lie in together (or rather we would have if dh didn't snore so loudly) despite me practically kicking him around/out of bed .

Ds got lots of lovely presents and really enjoyed himself although he is suffering a bit with a cold now and the midday nap is now officially non-existant which is a bit of a pain, but at least he is sleeping a bit later in the mornings.

Elf - sorry you are having such a rough time. Hope they find out what is wrong soon.

YF - hope the sickness clears up soon. I found the tiredness was the worst thing. I forgot just how bad it was, although 1st time round I used to hide away in the toilets at work for half an hour to rest. Didn't have that luxury this time lol.

DontlookatmeImshy · 05/01/2008 20:25

Feeling a bit emotional/hormonal tonight. We have finally moved ds into his own room tonight. He has gone in with no problems, it may have halped that he has being playing in there nearly all day, but it still feels a bit wierd. I'll miss him although i am moving in with him for a few days until he gets used to it and so he doesn't feel completely abandoned/rejected. >

mawbroon · 06/01/2008 18:24

How did it go with the sleeping DLAMIS?

We have gone right back to basics with Johnny's sleeping. He was totally out of his routine over the holidays and was sleeping in our room, but gradually he was sleeping in our bed for more and more of the night. I put his cot bed back up to keep him contained and he has had two nights in it so far. The first night wasn't bad at all, but last night he screamed on and off for over and hour between 0030 and 0130 shouting "mummy milk". The deal is that he isn't getting milk at night any more, but after my inconsistency over the holidays, of course he is more than a bit upset by this. Hopefully he will accept it tonight, especially as our house guest has now left and we are almost back to normal.

Now that we are into the new year, I am really putting some effort into getting mindees as I need to get some money coming in. It will be odd after it just being me and Johnny for so many months!

How are you feeling Elf?

DontlookatmeImshy · 06/01/2008 21:59

It's going ok so far. He cried out 3 times in the night but he wasn't really awake properly, just needed a pat on the back and off he went again. He's being doing that the odd night for a few weeks now. We suspect it's bad dreams or something . Don't think it was anything to do with changing rooms. He doesn't seem at all phased by the change, maybe because his routine has been so disrupted over Christmas while we been visiting lots of people that another change seems almost normal but it's early days yet so we'll just have to see. Next step is a big boys bed!!!

Good luck getting mindees. I'm thinking I'll carry on until the end of Jan and then finish. I'll probably have had enough by then.

Yokefleet · 07/01/2008 10:44

Hope the boys slept well for you both last night DLAMIS & MB. Thomas has been disturbed in the night recently not sure why but last night he has slept through again thankfully and I actually feel half human today!

We have started since Xmas getting more words off THomas which has been lovely, still isn't saying much but anything is better then nothing! new words include chair, tree and star.

I have got a date through for a scan on the 18th Jan when the mw are dating me at 15weeks but I think I will only be about 12 then really! oh I don't know just want to know now I guess!! Sickness started on Xmas Morning lovely! and have been ill more times then with Thomas the nausea is still constant too x
Good luck to everyone else who is ttc, and baby dust coming your way.

Elf - how are you feeling now hun? x

ELF1981 · 07/01/2008 13:00

I was sick all over the weekend and spent most of it in bed. I think it is my own fault - I over worked myself on Friday so more fool me! Back at work today with strict instructions to leave earlish!

Evelyn is coming on nicely at the moment, yesterday we were getting in the car from Asda (my only trip out before crawling back to bed!) and she said she needed the toilet. She had a nappy on so I wasn't too fussed, but DH said to her if she held it til we got home, he'd give her a chocolate bar.

We got home 15 mins later, she said she needed the toilet again so we took her upstairs (she wouldn't go on the potty) where she went to the loo. Cue chocolate bar for her! Today she is just wearing pants under her clothes at the childminders to see how she goes. Look for me later posting about having to wash seventy outfits of wee

mawbroon · 07/01/2008 13:06

Bleugh, too bad with the sickness YF. I was never actually sick with Johnny, but came close several times a day for 16 weeks yuk. Great news that Thomas is coming out with more words. I bet once he gets going that he won't stop!

Last night's sleeping wasn't too bad, he woke at 4.30am but was happy to go back to bed after a cuddle and new nappy. He lay for another 10 mins chatting to his teddy and then that was him until 7am

My ILs watched Johnny for an hour or so this morning while I ran a couple of errands. I didn't want to take Johnny as there was 2" snow and didn't want to risk slipping with him on my back. Anyway, at lunchtime, he started saying "Grandad, awful fright, Johnny bang head, cry". I am not worried about his head, I know that he is just fine, but I am very interested to see how well he has told me the story. I am just worried that ILs will think I am questioning about what happened.

Nothing else new, just glad to be back to normal after the holidays.

mawbroon · 07/01/2008 13:08

x posts Elf. Take it easy you!!

Well done Evelyn

Yokefleet · 07/01/2008 13:12

Well done Evelyn!! Hope all goes well today too Elf. Hope that you are taking it easier today too x

Glad you didn't have a bad night MB. lol at Johnny and his story! I don't envy you asking IL's!!

ELF1981 · 07/01/2008 21:10

well, it didn't go too badly, she only had one accident today which was first thing this morning. She had a little wee through her pants, leggings and also soaked her socks.

But the rest of the day they were out and about and she was fine, she was also fine on the way home with just pants on, and at FIL house. now if I could just get her to sleep through!!

Hope the pregnancies are going well, and the TTC get some good baby dust

Yokefleet · 07/01/2008 21:21

Well done Evie!! I haven't even thought about potty training Thomas yet! I need him speaking first is my thing!

I have just had another bout of sickness tonight and hubby said (now get this!) "it can't be morning sickness at this time of night can it?" Now I am sure he went through the 9months whilst carrying Thomas but he made me wonder!!

ELF1981 · 07/01/2008 21:57

PMSL at your DH comment! Bless

ALLwillBeRevealed · 08/01/2008 21:56

Anybody care to guess who I might be?

No point in putting this to the whole of mn, as nobody knows me from Adam!

Here

DontlookatmeImshy · 08/01/2008 22:14

Ooo. I have an idea. Knowing me I'm totally wrong though There's a bit of a clue in that thread though, isn't there?????

ALLwillBeRevealed · 08/01/2008 22:28

Is there?

Yokefleet · 09/01/2008 09:28

I really hope that I am right with who I think you are...MB? [fingers crossed emoction]

mawbroon · 09/01/2008 14:55

Well done YF. Bit of a giveaway really, seeing there are so few of us posting on here nowadays....

Due on 7th September. Great, all johnny's winter clothes etc will fit at the right time of year

No morning sickness yet, but it's still early days, although someone on antenatal thread is saying that they though bf might help reduce morning sickness.

I will place my money on Johnny not giving up breastfeeding and me becoming a tandem feeder Have already had several people very confused about how I can be pregnant whilst still breastfeeding. I think I will get a sign to pin on my jumper saying "yes, it's possible" In fact, I was speaking to ds's aunt last week whilst bf Johnny. She said "if you want another baby you will have to stop that" I was sat there knowing full well that I was pregnant. Was very hard not to laugh.

Yokefleet · 09/01/2008 17:36

awww great news MB!!! I am soo pleased for you. One of the mums at playgroup last week told me she was pg and she fell pg whilst bf too.
Good to hear that you aren't suffering...yet!

Must say that Thomas seems to be much heavier since xmas! I think it is just because of feeling off and Paul was home I avoided lifting him whereas with Paul back at work I am finding it really tough going!! I just wanna bloom!! lol I never bloomed with Thomas so I won't hold my breath!
DLAMIS have you bloomed in either pg? and how far along are you now?
I can't wait to get to the scan on the 18th and know when we are due!

elf - how are you doing now?

sm - how are you doing, how is your back?

ELF1981 · 09/01/2008 20:20

is it just me and sm who still post regularly and not pg?
I'm going to end up talking to myself on this thread

Huge congrats MB

I'm too sick to get pg. Waiting until Evelyn is at least three now before ttc

mawbroon · 09/01/2008 20:34

I do enough MNetting to post on an antenatal and a postnatal thread Elf so you won't get rid of me that easily....

Saw your other thread about your illness, and want to say once again that I hope you get over it soon. If it were me, I would probably go down the kicking up a stink route, however I appreciate that you might not feel up to it.

YF - I didn't really bloom with Johnny. I spent the first 16 weeks with the boke (was never actually sick though) and then my iron levels dropped and I was knackered during the second trimester when one is meant to bloom. I was blooming huge by the end if that counts

stinkymalinki · 09/01/2008 21:09

wow, congratulations Mawbroon

I haven't been on-line for ages, so only just seen your news! Much as i'd love another one, I have to put my health first (although my back is a lot better than it was), so we're waiting till Joey's at least 3 now too. Looks like it'll be you and me together Elf!

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Year. Ours was lovely - just a quiet one at home, just what the doctor ordered! I'm back to work next week though...dreading it, and they're already kicking up a stink about off duties fitting around childcare etc (you may remember i had issues with them a few months ago and nearly left, but there are just no other jobs about at the mo, so i'm stuck for the time being). Ah well, at least Joey is settled at Nursery now - he goes 2 mornings a week now, and is loving it.

Take care all, SM x

I won't be leaving you guys either, I haven't gone onto an antenatel thread and this is the only board I post on on here. so you are stuck with me I'm afraid!!

DontlookatmeImshy · 09/01/2008 23:16

Congratulations MB. Didn't want to say cos I didn't know how secretive you were trying to be but this comment on Mon 7th Jan gave it away
"Sore nips kicking in today. Not a lot of fun when a toddler latches on to them"

Afaik you were the only one of us left still bf'ing

DontlookatmeImshy · 09/01/2008 23:20

YF - I bloomed in both pgs once I got to about 16+ weeks. I will be 31 weeks on Saturday though and am definately starting to de-bloom again iykwim. Feel like a bit of a heifer now and quite frankly if baby didn't need an extra 10 weeks in there i'd be quite happy to give birth right now

mawbroon · 11/01/2008 13:14

I've copied and pasted this from the Sept 08 thread:

Oh fuck. Started bleeding today. Was brown and stringy like just before my period and now it's fresh and red, just like a period. No cramps or anything, but I am not very hopeful at all. Doc called the EPU who have said that if it gets worse then I should call them direct.

I have a bi-cornuate (heart shaped) uterus, so if the egg implants on to the septum, it will not be sustained as there's not enough blood flow there. I had no idea about this abnormality when I was expecting ds, and this time round it will bug me until the baby is here - whether it be this one or a future one.

I did another test this morning, and it was a very faint positive. I would have expected that by this stage a positive would be screaming out from the test.

Ho hum, time will tell. DS is being very whingey today which is not like him at all, so keeping him amused will at least keep my mind off things.
