Hi all

As I’m rubbish and keep double posting I thought I’d start a new thread as we’re nearly at 1k.
I don’t have all of the OG’s so apologies for anyone I miss or anyone I miss in general (blaming lack of coffee this morning!!)

@ELW85 how did Finn do?? Hiccups are bloody horrible!

@MrsEG there's clearly something in the air at the moment! 😂 I always forget to sun cream up... and I burn like a crisp!

OMG @TrashKitten10 you just made me die! 😂😂 I have no advice but thanks for making me giggle so much!

@Lemonysherbet yay!! I'm so glad you both had a good night! Makes you feel amazing hey?

@stormtrooperjulian I'm glad Dex seems to be coping well with his teeth! I wish I could say the same for Ethan lol 😂 he is grumpy!

TrashKitten10 · 24/06/2020 10:17

@MrsEG Haha yes, but then they continue to keep doing it, despite hating it 🤦🏻‍♀️ I really struggle to touch my scar, hate hate hate it. It feels weirdly numb like it isn't my own skin and makes me feel a bit sick and dizzy touching it. I have issues 😂 So I think it would take a lot to be able to massage it 😩 Can't stand DH touching it either so that's out. Good old M&S, I think
I'll do some online shopping and try to find the perfect pants :)

@stormtrooperjulian Shes nearly 8 months now so we are well past the point I thought I'd be having scar issues but it was just after banging it a bit it's been so uncomfortable.

@MrsR16 Pleased that me and my wild and free foof made you chuckle 😂

MrsR16 · 24/06/2020 10:32

@TrashKitten10 literally wetting myself with that image! 😂 🤣

ELW85 · 24/06/2020 12:04

So I was apparently worried over nothing; couple of tears and then smiles as I put him in his car seat! What a guy 💙
He’s currently asleep in his Snuzpod as the appointment obliterated his morning nap though, so I’m hoping he gets a few hours in!

This was him pre-jabs, a tired mess!!

@MrsEG - ah how adorable and yet sleep depriving of the boys 😂 it being a new skill is a great way to look at it though!
I’m hoping he settles well at bedtime tonight after the imms. He seems ok though!!

@TrashKitten10 - really sorry I can’t help, but you did make me laugh out loud!!
They were his second lit and he seems relatively fine!

@ELW85 yay for Finn! Well done him! Bless him, he looks adorable (if tired!). Well done you too!

ELW85 · 24/06/2020 12:42

@MrsR16 - thank you! Even the bunny looked upset 😂
How’s Ethan doing now; is he more settled?

OP posts:
MrsR16 · 24/06/2020 12:50

@ELW85 he's not doing too badly. He's getting tired right now which really doesn't help, but he's yet to realise that's what happens when he doesn't nap for more than 40 mins at a time 🙄 I'm just pleased he slept last night! 😂

ELW85 · 24/06/2020 13:39

@MrsR16 - they’re so inconsiderate when it comes to sleep 😂
Finn is currently pinning me down as he cried, wouldn’t wind, cried some more for cuddles, so now he’s on my shoulder asleep! Getting him in the Snuzpod was going so well, too! Hopefully this doesn’t throw it all off.

We’ve got our very delayed newborn photo shoot on 5th July...and the salons open 4th July...time to get rid of the unintended lockdown ombré!

OP posts:
MrsR16 · 24/06/2020 15:31

@ELW85 oh that's so exciting about the newborn photo shoot! Even if it is a little late 😂 and awesome you've got a hair appointment so quickly! I'm waiting for my hairdressers to get in touch with me... I had a cut a couple of weeks before lockdown and it's driving me demented! Too thick and heavy! 😂

In other news, here's Ethan eating a muslin, because he clearly doesn't get enough food with milk and/or solids...

ELW85 · 24/06/2020 16:13

@MrsR16 - that’s so adorable!! I’m trying to keep a cuski stuffed down my top to see if it settles Finn any better.
He hasn’t stopped sleeping today since his jabs, poor thing. The amazon guy just brayed the door so hard the entire frame moved (glass around the edges) and Finn jumped. I could kill him!

@ELW85, hope Finn is OK tonight after his jabs xx Omfg don't get me started on delivery drivers! And that twat with the bike is still at it by us, I swear one of these days... Grrr!

@MrsR16, I love Ethans vest! Nice to see Joe isn't the only one obsessed with eating cloths!

@TrashKitten10, I can't really offer much knicker advice I'm afraid, except that I would say the scar and this weather are perfect excuses to go commando 😀

@MrsEG, hope the boys behave tonight and don't go rolling around too much!

Well, a big day here ladies! Joe rolled from back to front twice, he's not done it before, only ever front to back... Progress! He's so determined to try and crawl a bit too, but bless him I think it's gonna be a while before he cracks that one to be honest. He got so excited at lunchtime, made a massive mess so in the bath he went 😂 It's too sodding hot today, I don't like it! Joe is not settling tonight, I'm sure it's the weather. I'm already dreaming of big coats, blankets and casseroles. Ah well.

MrsR16 · 24/06/2020 20:34

@ELW85 Ethan slept loads after his jabs too! I hope you gave that delivery driver what for!

@Fivebyfive2 woohoo! Well done, Joe!! Ethan's really struggling tonight too but it seems to finally be cooling off thank god. I love summer but not as a mummy of a bubba!!

Fivebyfive2 · 24/06/2020 21:35

Well it took 2 hours, a nappy / vest change, 2 beds, a trip in the garden, a fan, his 'relaxation station' playlist, a bit of boob, a bit of rocking and a bit of thumb sucking... But Joe is finally asleep in his cot! But for how long?!! I hate summer.

Good luck tonight ladies! Xx

MrsEG · 24/06/2020 22:08

Oh my word, my thoughts are with us all at bedtime tonight! Both boys are just in nappies and rolling all over the place. Took me forever to settle them and I’ve already been back up three times. Something tells me it’ll be a long night!

@stormtrooperjulian It makes no sense gyms can’t open - surely we all need an immune system boost at this stage too! Not to mention the mental health benefits! Ahh I bet Dex looks so cute with his teeth!

@TrashKitten10 I used to feel so the same about my scar and I went to an online workshop about it. Apparently it’s really common as it reminds us of the trauma of birth and recovery. She asked us to just touch our scars during the workshop and I just couldn’t do it!! But I’ve slowly worked on it and it doesn’t bother me at all now. It’s mad how connected to trauma it is though!!

@ELW85 Ah so glad he did well with his jabs!

@MrsR16 Ha Ruairí chomps on his muslins too, or shoves his thumb under it and sucks his thumb through the Muslin 🙈

MrsR16 · 24/06/2020 22:17

@Fivebyfive2 well done you!! I think tonight is going to be horrendous...

@MrsEG good luck lovely! You'll be in my thoughts tonight with two little ones! Aw, how cute with Ruairí sucking his thumb through the muslin! 😂

Fivebyfive2 · 24/06/2020 22:48

Aaaaand he is awake again 🤦‍♀️

thumper59 · 25/06/2020 07:56

Morning ladies thanks for the new thread! How are you coping with the babies and the heat? Daytimes aren't to bad, was unsure what to put him in last night! He slept in just a baby grow (no bag) which I thought he wouldn't sleep in but he slept through! Many plans for today?xx

MrsR16 · 25/06/2020 08:03

Morning everyone

@Fivebyfive2 how did Joe cope the rest of the night? Ethan was horrible to get to sleep and then he was wide awake at 4! 😴

@thumper59 I'm pleased Freddie slept through for you! Ethan isn't doing amazingly well with the heat - it's throwing him right off! But we'll get there 😊 my plans today are to keep my oven of a house as cool as possible! Wish me luck 🤞

Fivebyfive2 · 25/06/2020 08:08

@thumper59, hiya, glad Freddie is doing well 😀

@MrsR16, Joe was up roughly every 90 mins and was wide awake at 5.15, then did a giant poo 🤦‍♀️ He's napping on me at the moment. Sorry to hear Ethan was struggling last night too. Apparently we might get storms later on and the weekend could be a bit cooler?

@MrsEG, how were your boys over night? Xx

MrsEG · 25/06/2020 08:13

@Fivebyfive2 @MrsR16 I saw every hour, and from 4am, every 30 mins 😫 thank god we don’t live in a warm climate is all I’ll say haha!

@thumper59 I’m so jealous ha but also very happy for you that he slept through!!

I think one of the biggest issues I’m having with the boys sleep atm is the fact they keep rolling on to their bellies and can’t get back! So I’m up and down rolling them over. Any tips?? I keep them on the playmat all day to practice rolling back over again and they’ve both done it once, but it took considerable effort! I’m guessing like with everything it’s all just patience and time. It’s just a phase.. just a phase...! Pass the coffee!

Fivebyfive2 · 25/06/2020 08:25

@MrsEG, have you tried a tummy time log thing, or a rolled up towel? We used that for Joe and it seemed to help at first. Oh man I'm actually glad our holiday was cancelled, to be honest I think we were being a bit ambitious / naive planning on going to France in early July with a 6 month old winter baby 😂 My parents and bro would have helped out but I think it would have been a slog! Hope you have a better night tonight. Dh was bringing me water and biscuits at 3.30am to stop me having a moment, bless him!

MrsEG · 25/06/2020 08:27

@Fivebyfive2 we literally had the same conversation today! Thank god we didn’t go on holiday!! I was chatting to a friend too who warned me not to take them anywhere warm before they’re 1!! She said the flight alone ruins you haha!
We have the Llama - they can roll back again in the day, for some reason at night they just don’t and cry out instead! So I think it’s just gonna take a bit more practice for them. Sometimes in the day when they roll back they’ll bump their heads and cry so perhaps they’re just finding their confidence!

thumper59 · 25/06/2020 08:48

@mrseg oh no I remember the phase well! It does pass pretty quick though. Once they're rolling they seem to pick up pretty fast how to roll back so hopefully it won't be to much longer!

@fivebyfive is joe still in his own room? If so how was he doing before the country increased by about 100 degrees? 😂

@MrsR16 good luck! It feels a lot hotter where we are today than yesterday already! We are coast side of Yorkshire though so I know we don't get no where near as hot as other parts of the country!

We was due to go to Cyprus on a big family holiday beginning of may that got cancelled. I hope we can all re book for next year 😫. We would of had 7 adults and a 11,8,5 year old, and Freddie's cousin who would of been 10 months and Freddie who would of been 6 months 😂 I was so ready for the carnage! Haha xx

ELW85 · 25/06/2020 08:49

Morning all

I f-ing hate this heat. It turns DH into a mess (he’s awful in hot weather) and makes calming Finn down nigh on impossible!
Poor Finn was so highly strung after his jabs. Put him in his bouncer so I could eat; accidentally dropped a chip on the plate and he went primal ballistic like I’d just screamed in his ear.
Last night; put him in his Snuzpod awake, said “goodnight, time for sleep” and he was out. I thought I’d cracked it and 5 mins later he was awake. Good news is that he resettled with a light hand on chest and gentle bum jiggle so we’re getting there.
Tried it at nap time this morning...definitely not there yet 😂 but I’ll be consistent and see where we get. Not for any other reason than it took me 30 mins to get him rocked to sleep yesterday after he’d been so sleepy all day and it nearly broke my arms and back. He’s a big lad!!

As for what to wear, he’s in a light grosnug with just a nappy on (checked their website) and did fine in that last night.

@Fivebyfive2 @MrsR16 - the driver rang me and asked if I was in the house (he could obv hear Finn crying) so I said “yeah, that’s my poorly 12 week old you’ve just frightened half to death with braying on the door so I won’t be f-ing answering and you’re lucky I can’t come to the door” to which he replied “I’ll just leave them on the doorstep then” PRICK!!!

@MrsEG - what the hell is the llama, haha?! I’d wanted to go to Greece in September and I’m SO pleased we didn’t book it. Definitely couldn’t cope with flight Finn as I can imagine him. We go have a lodge booked up in Scotland though that I’m even doubting now...

OP posts:
MrsEG · 25/06/2020 08:50

@thumper59 They are just so delighted with themselves being able to roll but seem to land on their bellies like ‘I need some help now please mum!’ They can do it they just need the practice I think!!
Ahh it’s so awful the holidays being cancelled - I love the idea of a big family one like that with everyone when the boys are a bit older. You might find a silver lining in enjoying it a bit more next year when he’s a bit more robust haha!
