As I’m rubbish and keep double posting I thought I’d start a new thread as we’re nearly at 1k.
I don’t have all of the OG’s so apologies for anyone I miss or anyone I miss in general (blaming lack of coffee this morning!!)

@MrsR16- ha - that’s exactly what I’m like. DH likes to wind me up by saying what would you do if he brought home a girl at 16 and they were in love and wanted to get married.
Obviously nobody is good enough for him and he’ll be too young to make good decisions 😂

@MrsC87 1 already!! Ahh happy birthday Charlie! 3 days a week sounds fab!
The twins are doing great, almost 6 months old now so we’re starting weaning soon which I’m terrified about haha!

@ELW85 That’s a beautiful photo!! I love it! Me and DH met on Tinder too, some 6 plus years ago now!! Totally the norm these days! And yes the boys won’t be dating until they’re at least 25!

Well Finn didn’t take those Imms well at all. Bless him. He’s absolutely spark out with his cuski now though. I’m just lying beside him on our bed kissing his little head and holding his hand 💙
There you go!! It’s all been developmental! Ethan will be crawling about the place in a day or so and it’ll all have been worth it. Yay!!

Ah can’t believe I forgot to update you guys!
Work drama...
So I had a call on Monday from work that I missed; then a text to say they’d decided they could now be flexible and that 3 days was fine! What the hell happened to their new company wide policy?! I responded asking what had changed and they said ‘If that’s all you can do for now we can be flexible and see how you go, maybe start with 3 days at first?’
Which to me just feels like... start with 3, we’ll tell you early on it’s not working and you’ll decide to up it to 4 but then it’s my decision and not theirs...
I could do without it all I really could! My heads all over the place with it!

@MrsEG oh wow! It's funny how things change rather quickly isn't it? 🤦‍♀️ employers are so stupid sometimes! It frustrates me... I'd stick to your guns about the whole 3/4 days thing even if they say it's not working!! Make sure you get in writing (letter with a signature if possible would be best) xx

Hi ladies! Had a nice day today, Joe's had 4 naps (oops!) as some were cat naps, but 3 of those were in his big cot (including a 90 min one!) the other was in the buggy while I was getting shopping. His last little nap, he fed until drowsy and I put him in the cot as his eyes were drooping and he went off to sleep instead of kicking off 🥳 He's been loving his jumperoo, scoffing his food and rolling around in the nip too 😂

I'm loving the love stories on here today, I'm a sucker for them! A lady at my work has been married to the same man twice, it could be a film! Dh and I had a disaster of a 1st date but became friends and got together properly a year later, then moved in together after 3 months!

Oh and in other news, I'm starting to see why evening baths are such a big thing 😂

Talking of love stories, I think my eldest sister's got the best one! Bear with me, I'll keep it as brief as possible!

She met her now DH when he was stationed over here (he was in USAF) and she was about 13. They started seeing each other when she was 16 and he proposed when she was 18. Long story short, she got cold feet, called the whole thing off. He was stationed back in the USA. They always kept in touch, never missed a birthday, never missed Christmas, but each of them saw other people. One summer (when she was 22), he called her and asked when she was going out to see him. She said she couldn't afford it, so he replied "no, I'll get your ticket, when are you coming out to see me?" She was there one day and my dad had a phone call, asking for permission to ask her to marry him again! My dad said "well, I've already given you permission once!!" They were married in the December that year and she moved out there permanently the summer after and are still happily married nearly 17 years later with two beautiful boys 😊 makes my heart melt!!!

@MrsR16, omg now THAT is a film that just writes itself!! I hope Ethan behaves tonight... Joe took about 40 mins to go down, dh ended up rocking him, that hasn't happened for ages?! Xx

Yeah I don’t know what to do about work. I’ve totally geared myself up for 4 days, had parents to help with childcare sorted and changed the nursery days so it’s another massive spanner - but in all the planning I now sort of do want to do 4 days - crunching all then numbers it does leave us much better off now parents can help. But I don’t want work to win haha! So my heads in the clouds a bit!

Ruairí went to bed at 7 and hes already woken twice. He’s teething terribly. I feel I could be in for a long night!

9pm until 6am with 2 wake ups (1.45 till 2.15 and 4.55 till 5.10) Best night in literally months!!

Had a bit of a shitty last week or so with Fred If I'm honest! He is just SO whingy, not sleeping well on a night, fighting naps. You name the testing Behaviour and Freddie is doing it 🙄

I'm actually back at work 3 days a week now! So packing him up for days at his grandmas is weird! But I'm grateful for the break at the min I must admit

From a quick scroll, are we al going through sleep regressions? Ace 😫😂

Those of you with older babies having wake ups, how long are they up? I'm dreading nights because when he's up he's awake for a good hour at a time 😫 regardless of what I do/ if I offer a bottle or what he just won't go straight back over!

@MrsEG oh poor Ruairí! How did he do overnight? That's very frustrating about work... you'll figure out the best solution though! I definitely wouldn't want to be letting them know that they won haha

@thumper59 you two are just gorgeous! Such a cheeky little monkey! Yes, I think we've hit the 8 month regression hard! Although we had our best night last night in what feels like forever! Ethan fed at 6, fell asleep at about 6:30, stirred a couple of times, I had to change his nappy at 10 (curse the need for boys to pee so much!) but he didn't really wake up for that. He then woke up at around 4:20 and was back asleep in his cot by 5:10! I'm really struggling with the longer wake ups too - I was all set for a 90 minute wake up! He surprised me though 😊

@MrsR16 aw thankyou, so kind 🙂. Glad you had a relatively good night. God they wee so bloody much don't they! He's in 4+ on a night and is still damp by the morning and that's without a night feed! He's teething too I think- crawling and trying to stand so I think he's just emotional and frustrated but gosh is he hard work at the mo! Have you and Ethan been upto much x

Pleased you all had relatively good nights 😊

Finn was stirring around 10pm but self settled until 1, then stirring a bit more, up at nearly 3 for a feed then asleep til DH alarm woke us all at 5am. Then struggled to get down but dozed on and off until 7.30.
He seems ok but a bit tired.
Why can’t he self settle consistently?! Argh!!

@MrsR16 - what a story!! Sounds like they were madd for each other 💖

@MrsEG - how was your night with teething? Work sound like they’re just making it up as they go along to be honest!

@thumper59 - sorry you’re having a bit of a rough time; you do both look fantastic though! Totally can’t tell!

@thumper59 we haven't been up to too much! Just lots of playing, eating, sleeping 😂 Ethan's just learning how to crawl now too. He gets so grumpy when he can't do it because he's just not physically strong enough yet!! He also loves standing up... again, he can't do that by himself yet, but again he gets so cross when he try and sit him down! 🤣

@ELW85 I think they absolutely were! 😊 Finn sounds like he had an ok night! Self-soothing's infuriating isn't it? Sometimes they can and then other times they can't! 🤣

@ELW85 sounds like you and Finn had a pretty good night. It's frustrating when sometimes they self settle and sometimes they don't! Tbh I'd be considering murder if DH woke us all up at 5am though 😂

@MrsEG omg I can't believe your work are messing you around so much! Are they usually this flakey and unreliable? Is your HR department a bit useless?

I don't know if we've hit the 8 month regression late (almost 10 months here) or what but Dex has gone from consistently sleeping through to waking up twice the past couple of nights. I hope it doesn't last long, I'm not used to it any more and it's killing me! We're off on holiday this weekend so will be nice to have a chance of scenery.

@stormtrooperjulian @MrsR16 - it’s kind of given me comfort that I’m guessing from your comments, Dec and Ethan pick and choose if they self settle?! Do you put them down awake? I thought I’d cracked it but clearly not 😂
DH has a trip to Birmingham today hence the stupidly early alarm but he could have slept in one of the spare rooms. Aaarrrgghh!
And the new night light decided to make itself super bright and switch itself on for no reason. Comedy of errors last night!

@stormtrooperjulian - I’m so sorry to hear about the late regression! Hopefully this break can reset him! Where are you off to?

@ELW85 Freddie also picks and chooses when he self settles! I do usually rock him to sleep though, and he always goes straight to sleep after his bed time bottle!

@mrsr16 aww bless, I mean I get why it frustrates them! I just wish they wouldn't blame us 😂

@stormtrooperjulian thankyou, it's ok thankyou! I haven't ever really been off tbh as it's family business so I've been doing bits here and there since I had him. It's nice to get some kind of routine into my week though! I just miss him so much when I'm not with him, I'll struggle when he goes to nursery in September for sure! That's exactly what Freddie is like at 8.5 month and he's been sleeping through for ages 😫

@thumper59 - it’s so interesting isn’t it?! Proves that just because he gets rocked doesn’t mean he needs that to go back to sleep if he’s been sleeping through!
I really hope the regression passes soon for you. The thought of it is terrifying me 😂
