Evening Ladies

Hi Dippy good to have you back. SE LinkHere

SOL - Your mummy routine sounds fab!!

Izzy doen't really follow a strict routine,

Somewhere between 7-8am wake and BF
Somewhere between 9-10am BF and sleep
Somewhere between 12-1pm Wake and BF and then puree of somesort.
Somewhere between 3-4pm BF and possibly sleep
somewhere between 6-7pm Cluster BF possibly a short sleep before bedtime and between 8-9pm
She hasn't woken in the night for 2/3 months.

busywithIzzy · 24/09/2007 21:32

Sorry posted before I'd finished and now I can't remember anything else.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 24/09/2007 21:39

geordiemacminx · 24/09/2007 21:44

Just found a fab website www.spacekraft.co.uk

Its toys aimed at SN kids but there are some great sensory toys and things to stimulate baby.

elkiedee · 24/09/2007 21:45

Hi all,

I've either been packing or responding to D a lot of the day, and it's taken me a while to get to reading the thread. I had hoped to take D out and leave dp to pack but I didn't do enough yesterday afternoon for that to happen - we stepped out but only for a few minutes to go to the chemist and leave a note for the health visitor - her team's office is round the corner and I decided it was easier than phoning.

Pleased to hear Ellie and Pesha both enjoyed the weekend, and hope babies and M did too!

Like Ellie I suspect that a modified routine is less GF (thought she believes the whole point is stick rigidly) than commonsense. I also think that routine evolves as what works for mum and baby. However, our routine will probably go to pieces now, as we'll be travelling for nearly 24 hours tomorrow and our holiday is in cities that are 8/9 hours behind us in time.

We will have internet access a lot of the time but I'm likely to get a look in in the middle of your night, might coincide in UK/European early mornings.

In Anchorage I'm expecting to meet up with some of my longest running group of online friends - our email crime fiction discussion list has been going for nearly 9 years and I've been on it for more than 8 of those, can't believe it! And we've been talking about getting together in Alaska for over 4 years (now there's a venue for a meet up )

Peshasofeight · 24/09/2007 21:54

SOL - if i could just change 'Theatre' for 'pub' that would be perfect!

I'm with Ellie on the gf thing. DD slept through from 5 weeks, wasn't a daytime sleeper till she got older but by 6/7 months she had regular meal times, naps etc went to sleep perfectly and all from us just finding our own routine. DS1 didnt sleep through til 8 months when I stopped bfing and nothing anyone did would have changed that! He is still not great at sleeping. DS2 goes through phases of sleeping through and waking up and its all due to growth spurts and teething and so I wouldnt want to encourage him to sleep through on those nights he wakes up because he knows how, if he's not doing it then theres obviously a proper reason iyswim. He is getting to a point when i can see he needs a proper daytime nap rather than the short little naps he has at mo while feeding so, especially as im trying to go back to work, I wil try abit of controlled crying or pick up put down and see how he gets on but i wont be forcing things. It all depends on the baby though really.

I wrote this nearly an hour ago then phone rang - friends dp of 10 years has just left her . So sorry for x posts!

CaptainDippy · 24/09/2007 22:13

That's so , Pesha - shem ust be devestated.

octoandflash · 24/09/2007 22:13

Oooggs - its made by gallo - they also make risotto rice etc. I am getting mine from a organic/wholefoods shop but they will probably have it in sainsburys in their 'special' aisle! Will have a look when do next order online.

Maveta - don't cave into weaning if you're not ready - N probably is quite hungry if he is waking that often and may need something else but it won't last long if you're keen to stick to your guns Ernie is now sleeping through with a dream feed but we have stopped bf now and have introduced 3 meals a day!

Am going to upload the cutest picture of him on his playmat ... back soon

weeonion · 24/09/2007 22:14

goo devening folks!

sol - i love yr new contented mother routine - patent it!!
elkie - have a fab time away - enjoy the crime meet up in alaska!
gmm - ta for that link.i have made up a basket for c of bits n bobs -like a sensory basket. it has a collection of everything really - from scraps of material through to dried citrus fruit. i think she is a bit young yet - she erally needs to be sitting up on her own to get into it.
sleepbaby - no weaning here yet either. the 6 mth mark is coming closer but - i do let her taste all our fruit veg and she has been known to suck on peaches, cherry tomatoes, bananas etc. my mum is quite excited by the idea of BLW though!
liath - i had emailed you back but will try again!
bumble nice to see you back and glad you had a grand time away. any northern lights????

we had a good day toay but c still refuses all bottles. stubborn wee madam she is still up once through the night for a feed - anyhting from 3 - 5am. much as i long for nights unbroken sleep - i reckon she still must be hungry as she goes straight back to sleep after it.
cant believe it - i am starting to feel christmassy!!!!! argh

PillockOfTheCommunity · 24/09/2007 22:15

octo
have just worked out who you remind me of, you are the image of our nursery manager

PillockOfTheCommunity · 24/09/2007 22:16

octoandflash · 24/09/2007 22:18

Am I that scary? Must be more elusive again!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 24/09/2007 22:19

was at the fact that you could be her, you are that much alike

are you sure your name isn't Clare?

liath · 24/09/2007 22:28

Weeonion, I feel Christmassy too - forecast is for frosts this week too . I only got your email about the baby & bump fair, think yahoo is a bit random....

So on the theme of Christmas - I'd be game to organise a secret santa. If anyone interested emails me (hopefully yahoo will cope) and I'll email everyone the name & address of their recipient. [email protected]. Gifts for the mums no more than £5 - £10. Does that sound OK??

octoandflash · 24/09/2007 22:28

could be ... maybe am serial rl namechanger Is it because I said N was hungry or because I am sad enough to know salt free gravy exists?

I have spent the most hideous evening at the family planning clinic waiting fr my mirena to be fitted - appointment was at 7.30 - got out at 9.30 ffs Simply down to the lack of speed and dexterity of the doctor. I didn;t have any problems having it put in - in fact I didn't even feel it but thats hardly suprising when have squeezed two rather large babies out of the said hole I simply sat for two hours in a grotty health centre in chippenham with nothing to do - it was sooooooo boring

nappynuttynormabutty · 24/09/2007 22:46

Have emailed you Liath re secret santa!

CaptainDippy · 24/09/2007 22:58

Right off to bed ........

CaptainDippy · 25/09/2007 06:49

Tooooooooo bloody early!! P has been squeaking our bed & making a general nuisance of herself since 5.30 so I've given up & escaped here!! Sigh.

maveta - hope dad is improving, my issues seem so trivial in conparison x

friends son got rushed from home in Plymouth to Bristol Hospital last night by flashing ambulance must be serious otherwise he would have gone to Derriford no idea what is going on he is 14 mths and called Jack (great name )

sleepbabysleep · 25/09/2007 07:58

Morning Dippy! Oooggs how awful re. your friend´s wee one, I hope he´s okay

Well last night he went down at 9pm, woke at 11.30pm and it took a wee while to settle him but when he did go back down he slept til 4am! and then til 8am! No idea what did it.. when he awoke we put him into warmer pyjamas (weather is changing and the grobag info says put him in a long body and the grobag but it doesn´t seem enough..), dh got a big fat burp out of him, changed his nappy.. basically tried everything we could think of. So not sure if we will get a repeat tonight but I DON´T CARE! WE SLEPT! yay!

And Dad was moved on to the main ward last night so hopefully be home in a week or so..

CaptainDippy · 25/09/2007 08:06

Yey for sleep! ....and yey for your dad!

Oooggs, praying for poor little Jack. Please let us know when you know more.....

Sexonlegs · 25/09/2007 08:06

dts are in competion with all others babies on thread to be the last to sleep through, but the ds1 was about 12 mths after a bout of jet lag - so don't hold out much hope
