Party was a success. Just about managed to get through pass the parcel. Kiddies all had a blast on the bouncy castle. Didnt do party bags but instead had either a black or orange balloon.

Hey JLT, sorry to hear that O is still not sleeping. E is not doing too well at the mo but thats down to teething.

Had Ella weighed on Thursday and at 29weeks she still only weighs in at 15lbs 11oz. She only put on 15oz in 6weeks. HV said not to worry as she is very active but i thought it wasnt very much given she is eating 3 solid meals a day plus booby.

Looking forward to getting my email from Mars.

Not going to any firework displays as DS is scared of them.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend x

largeginandbloodpunch · 04/11/2007 11:07

Morning ladies.

I missed all of Dejags thread, is she ok? What happened?

JL dont worry about the feeding issue, they all sort themselves out eventually. B does lots of faff feeding during the day, im getting very fed up to be honest. He pulls off looks around, back for a munch, gums me a bit ad infinitum. It is driving me insane.

TYG how are your boobies? I may take the plunge and go cold turkey too, im just not brave enough! I was going to mix feed and see if that worked but cant get to grips with it, he still looks for me even after a bottle!

April very glad you survived the party. They are hell on earth but the kids do remember them for ever. Jonah had 2 parties yesterday and we had our little estate firework party last night too. He was so tired by the end of the day.

DH has bought me a pressure cooker, it is fab! Does the veges\rice\pasta etc in no time at all. The carrots take about 4 mins! Very good for baby food and soup making. A bargainous £30 in Argos in the sale.

MrsJB im so pleased that your sis baby turned, she must be hugely relieved. Lets hope it stays that way, is it her 1st baby? More likely to stay put if he does. How lovely to have your house to yourself for a coulple of weeks, enjoy!

Im taking the kids to one of those soft play areas this afternoon, i blardy hate them but the kids love it. Thye are so noisy especially at the weekend, it is a birthday treat for the twins though.

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 04/11/2007 12:58

Well hello.....

lg&t - It is dsis's first baby yes, her consultant was fairly hopeful he'd stay put now as he's quite big too.

We are off to some English friends this evening for a bonfire party. No fireworks though I love them but they have lots of animals inc horses and there will be alot of small children so they decided to just have a bonfire. They said it would be nice to all get together as we haven't seen a great deal of each other over the summer (it's my friend who's fighting cancer) and would be good to have chilli con carne as something to keep us warm. Who got ropped into making it? Me, at least I'm known round here for something, was told I made a mean one.

Love to dejags if you're lurking, I hope you are Ok. xxx

Just getting in the spirit for what I will be missing.

aprilmeadow · 04/11/2007 15:16

How exciting i have my secret santa email and now i have to work out what to buy......

LeafCoveredMeadow · 04/11/2007 15:21

Just trying out a new name.....

LeafCoveredMeadow · 04/11/2007 15:28

Ella was awake 5 times in the night

Went into town to get some medised and figured i would take ds in pants rather than a nappy..... had to drive like a loon as half way there he decided he needed a wee. Managed to get parked and get to the toilet without an accident, felt very smug that he had been so clever and had managed to hold it in. Went to 3 other shops and ended up in Boots as i wanted some medised. Whilst in the queue he decided to wee! Had to mop it up with Ella's muslin, was about it and quickly left once purchsed had been made.

On the crawling front we seem to be making progress. She got up on to her knees and made one movement forward before collapsing. I thought i had a good month or two before she would be getting to crawling. TYG, how is A coming along?

LeafCoveredMeadow · 04/11/2007 17:37

where is everyone?

Mum2G · 04/11/2007 19:46

Helloooo

like ya new name LCM, very poetic

also loving the tip of the day - although dh said if i had one i would be dipping into it every day

Well done Baby's A & E on the crawling front!

HHHmmm, secret santa ideas, it is amazing what comes up when you do internet searches for seemingly innocent things!

Been to library today (exciting stuff) wanted to take G swimming but will take him next week instead, might make my first deadline for my work early, that'll be a first (and last)

G settled well at childminders - so far anyway, i had a little cry the night before, we hadn't spent more than a couple of hours apart before but feel better now i know he seems happy.

right off for a chilli

AbbyLou · 04/11/2007 20:18

Hi all, long time no speak. How is everyone? It seems like ages since I caught up with you all. Well done to the crawlers, hadn't even thought about that yet to be honest, better start baby-proofing the house!
Both my 2 have been ill last week. C had an ear infection and R had a tummy bug. Luckily we managed to fix the childcare between dh and in laws as it wouldn't have gone down very well the first week back after half term. Now it is the start of a new half term I feel a bit more like I'm really back at work. I seemed to spend most of half term working to get all the planning done but things went quite smoothly last week as a result. The morning/evening routines are getting easier as it becomes more natural and the kids are very well settled and happy with the cm. C has his Nursery visit on Thursday at the school where I work. I can't believe he starts after Christmas, it doesn't seem possible. He will be going every morning.
We had a few fireworks in the garden last night but only very low key ones as C is a bit scared of the banging ones. We did manage to get him down to the end of the road to watch the big display from a distance. He got used to them by the end so hopefully he'll be ok next year.

Juicylucytoo · 04/11/2007 21:13

Julie, do believe you are a saint for offering to take O for a couple of hours. Will bear it in mind... Did you enjoy the fireworks?

Thanks everyone else for your stories of randomless - makes me feel less crap!

Blocked duct seems to be sorted. Thanks to a cabbage leave I am certain. It was wierd to be wearing it, but after no sleep on Firday I really couldn't have given a f*@k at that stage, if you'll excuse my french.

Last night was a new lesson for me. O didn't wake to feed from midnight until 5.30...that's because he woke at 2.30 and 3.30 because he was teething! Oh joy. Another possibility to add to the list:
Is he hungry?
Has he wind?
Has he pooed?
Is he tired?
No, he's teething! Joy, joy, joy. Only 11 days until DH gets home

juliewoolie · 04/11/2007 22:55

JL no worries - fireworks were fab but A did not go to sleep until 10!

Does anyone elses bub scream alot? Everytime I attempt to go to a supermarket recently he screams and screams and screams have had people come up to me asking if he is ok, the other day a lady in Tesco said she had come down the aisle to see who was pinching their child and today in Waitrose someone walked past me and said "well thats stopped my biological clock" At this rate we will be banned from every supermarket within a 10 mile radius.

AM poor you.

I have my secret santa person.

LeafCoveredMeadow · 05/11/2007 09:56

the thing that annoys me most is when Ella is crying/screaming and other people are mind readers and can tell me what is wrong with her 'oh is it that time again??' 'oh bless her is she hungry' 'is it time for food' NO IT BLOODY ISNT. I get really shitty with them. I dont try and tell them whats wrong with them. It is as annoying as when random people come up to you when pg and tell you that you are all out front so must be a boy, when you had a scan that very same day and got told it was a girl. Also when they feel they can touch your belly - i wouldnt go and touch there's.

Rant over

Medised seemed to have worked. Ella went down at 7.30pm and woke at 3am and then again at 7.20am. It seems to have helped on the snot front as well. My mum thinks that it was the snot that was waking her. Fingers crossed for another good day/night.

largeginandbloodpunch · 05/11/2007 10:14

I have my secret santa too Hmmmmmmm what to buy, what to buy...

B screamed all the way round asda last week, that was the day i got through the checkout only to have my card declined, I cannot begin to share with you my level of [anger]

DD started her new school this morning, i had to drop her off settle her in then quickly drive to the other school and drop the others off. DS #4 had an assembly to watch too. This was after i had to put all the car seats back in the car having taken them all out last night as the guy from our garage was coming to pick the car up for it's MOT this morning early. Gah!!! He phoned and said he would come tonight instead Counting to 10 now...

LeafCoveredMeadow · 05/11/2007 10:16

Hope S has a good day.

largeginandbloodpunch · 05/11/2007 10:33

largewhizzingrocketandtonic · 05/11/2007 12:03

Just testing out my new name and pofile catcher upper...

twelveyeargap · 05/11/2007 13:52

Hello

I just pumped enough to stop the engorgement getting sore. However.... DH has made me feel guilty. Not on purpose, just "Awh, it seems sad." Bugger. Am pumping a bit more now, til I decide what to do.

MrsJB - did you say that J doesn't eat (drink) much, particularly in the day? Does she still bf a bit? A only seems to take about 25oz/ 700mls in any 24 hour period (that's without any solids.) That said, she's a very fast breastfeeder - not usually longer than 7 mins or so, so she can't be getting that much in one go. If she gets an ounce more than I can usually pump, then she was probably only getting between 4 and 6 oz at each of 5 to 6 feeds. I'm not that concerned - lots of wet and dirty nappies and she's gaining weight, but at the last weigh on Thurs she's dropped another centile. It makes sense in a way. She was born on the 98th centile, but was two weeks late so about 1lb heavier than if she'd been born on her due date and DH and I are short, so she's likely to be small/ short too. I'm guessing she's finding her natural weight range - she's down to the 75th centile, so hardly wasting away. Doesn't stop me wondering why she's not taking 7oz feeds like it says on the tin though... Might get her weighed again next week and make an appt with the hv at the same time to discuss it. (Usually an assistant does the weigh-only thing, so they're not much help.)

biffabangsorangesparklecentres · 05/11/2007 18:55

Evening all.....

Had a lovely evening with friends last night, cold until they lit the mahoooosive bonfire, jeasus it was huge! The kids made two guy's to go on the top. dh got the job of climbing up to get them near the top. lol

TYG, I'm sure you are right about A finding her natural weight range. J is not a hungry baby by any means. She has no BM now but hardly ever gets 5 7oz bottles in her in 24hrs. Normaly, 4 6oz, she is certainly not suffering for it and still doesn't seem bothered in moving on to solids. She still has thunder thighs like her mother

lg&t I feel your pain with the car seats, it drives me mad having to take them in and out of the car. We have 3 cars here and I seem to be forever swapping the seats around.

J has a cold, poor thing She's is a snuffle monster from the deep today. What can I do to ease her breathing? she's doing that raspy, huffy puffy short breath thing. I'm sure she's struggling as she's using her tummy to breath instead of her chest iykwim.

I'm a liking the new names too.

JL- Parcel posted today, should be with you by the end of the week.

cameroonmama · 05/11/2007 19:51

Hope you've sent on Thierry Henri as well MrsJB especially since I have all this time on my hands now that dh has gone

3 cars??!!! And a mansion.. You need a maid.

J still not really that interested in solids so I am not pushing it. TYG he bf about 4 mins each side each time and at bedtime gets a bottle but also struggles to finish 7oz. Sounds like A is reaching her 'natural' weight, I wouldn't worry too much.

J managed to go round the shops for an hour and then Sainsbury's with barely a peep today, he is such a good boy, but maybe its because everyone stops and gives him loads of attention, its those cheeks He can pretty much sit on his own now, thanks to his solidity

We went to the ballet on Saturday to see men in tights some beautiful dancing. It was wonderful but I did wonder what must go through their minds, dancing in a provincial town with an audience full of grannies and 6 year old girls

biffabangsorangesparklecentres · 05/11/2007 20:46

Which category did you fall into cam?

I haven't sent Th yet! The chopper is having the coat of arms repainted and I can't seem to find a jiffi bag big enough, sorry, I'll keep trying. Sory dh is away but at least you have those fabby cheeks to snuggle into.

I wonder if number 3's are generally good tbh, I don't notice J is even here alot of the time. I have to make myself give her attention because as long as someone has fed, changed and put her to bed she doesn't make a sound. She could easily be forgoten. Except this evening! Poor thing, but Daddy's home, haha....
I will not be too smug though as doesn't the saying go something like easy baby, troublesome toddler?

cameroonmama · 05/11/2007 21:08

6 year old sparkly Monsoon mule-wearing girl at heart

I shan't have to worry about dealing with a stroppy toddler, as I will just hand him over to the nanny

Pebblemum · 05/11/2007 22:45

Hello Ive done it again been away from pc for so long i have no hope of catching up but i will try

Its been a bit hellish in the Pebble household since I last came on here. I discovered I was pregnant (a big shock, had no symptons, had been having AF's although they had been strange but put it down to starting the pill and giving birth to Alana, had also done the odd test just to put my mind at rest when they were late but these came back neg, and i had been on the pill) I had been having no symptons so the dr thought I must only be a few weeks but sent me for a dating scan anyway which is when they discovered that there was no heartbeat. It seems I had fallen not long after my first Af after having Alana so it would have been another May baby Although I hadnt wanted another baby, after finding out I was pg and getting over the shock I was happy about it then when i found out i had lost it I felt guilty for all the doubts I had had at the beginning. They booked me in for a D&C a few days later (1st Nov). Everything went according to plan, I was very tired and emotional after the op but thought it was all over and done with. Then on Saturday I went to the loo (ALERT TMI!!!) and felt something come away, when i looked there was a flesh like thing hanging from me, it was definately not normal so I phoned dh who was at work and he came home. We managed to get it out and then I started bleeding really heavy and passing big clots so he rushed me back to the hospital where I was told it sounded like the surgeons hadnt done their job properly and left some of the 'conception material' inside me As if losing a baby isnt bad enough without having to deal with that. They had to check that I had got rid of it all before they would let me come home and I was told to take it easy for a few days and to return if I have any bad pains/heavy bleeding. Luckily apart from bad lower back ache and the odd strong period pain I seem to be okand the bleeding is starting to get a bit lighter now. Im on antibiotics just in case of infection and I have to go to see my gp when the bleeding has stopped so that she can check if my coil is still in place (I had one fitted at the time of the D&C but when the consultant checked me out at the hospital on Saturday he wasnt sure it was still there) It has been a very hectic couple of weeks and it has left me a bit drained and emotional but dh has been great, being there with cuddles when ive cried or giving me space when ive needed it.

Anyway enough of my woes but i thought i should update you on why ive not been around.

I hope all the babies have been good and are all doing well. I will try to catch up with everything that has been going on in a bit. I have to place an order on the Hawkin's Bazaar website first. Its got lots of old fashioned toys/games on there that I remember from when i was little including the original Fisher Price Chatter phone (remember the one with the roling eyes and you could pull it along Im going to get Alana a metal humming/spinning top and proper old fashioned jack in the box (ok its more for me to play with than her but she can watch lol)

cameroonmama · 05/11/2007 23:05

oh Pebble I'm sorry to hear you have been going through such a rotten time. Sending you lots of love.

Pebblemum · 05/11/2007 23:23

Thanks
