OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CrowOnTheCradle · 26/10/2007 20:57

I am here to model my new Hallowe'en name. And I can offer 50p and half a biscuit to the clever stick who works out who I am and why...

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 26/10/2007 21:03

There's only one SOH, there's only one SOH, there's only one SOOOHHHHHH, there's only one SOH

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 26/10/2007 21:08

I never realised they were so local to me I could almost become a fan...

CrowOnTheCradle · 26/10/2007 21:25

Clever lady. Have 50p, don't spend it all at once. And I'm afraid I ate the biscuit as I believe I may be ginger deficient and am upping my intake.

And...er... almost become a fan? Poor show Cam, poor show. They gig round your parts often and are the best thing since readily available man shaped ginger confection.

MrsJB, how did you get on at the docs you girl kisser you?

I have a flying saucer as recommended by the dishy blonde one. I don't fit in it though and I may smash it if I have to hear '5...salsa...5...salsa' one more frickin time.

CrowOnTheCradle · 26/10/2007 21:26

And has everybody seen this

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 26/10/2007 21:39

PMSL

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 26/10/2007 21:47

dh swears our flying saucer says 'Fingers Baby' even though the dc always shout 'daaaad it's SING it baby' then I even caught dd walking down the road singing 'fingers baby' to herself..

Oh yes MrsJB, how did H get on?

I have just looked in ds1's red book as he has an audiology appointment on Monday to check if the reason he shouts all the time is because he has hearing problems or because he is simply an almost 4 year non-stop pure muscle and testosterone filled shouty boy and realised that J weighs the same as ds1 did when he was 9 months old And I've been thinking, J is just so good, barely a whimper even when tired and quite quiet, do you think I should be worried, are babies meant to be this good?

juliewoolie · 26/10/2007 21:49

Hello all,

what the feck has happened to MN cant figure out anything.

Am back a couple of days early will bore you all with he detail later apart from DP done his back in again and is back in the hotel oops sorry hospital so have had to ditch our romantic weekend in the hotel and drive for 12 hours back to London with a screaming child in the back who has not slept all week as he is now turning over in his sleep and getting stuck then waking up screaming as his nappy has leaked all up his front.

Am delerious with tiredness but cant stop as I ate a whole back of my grandpas tablet lovely scottish sweety 200% sugar on the way home. Traffic nose to tail from Blackpool to Birmingham and averaged 30 miles an hour for about 3 hours.

Off to figure out what the fook is going on with MN and to catch up.

xx

CrowOnTheCradle · 26/10/2007 22:03

JW, sorry lovely. Sounds like a nightmare. Lots of love to you.

M weighs the same as I did at 2 years old! Freaky.

Darn flying saucer. M either loves it or is systematically trying to destroy it. She is quite adept at pulling herself out of the seat though and over the top of the piano bit. And the fingers baby stick is rather a good teether we have discovered. Double fun is when the cat climbs underneath and as dd jiggles about she brushes her fur with her bare feet and squeals with glee.

My 4yr old godson is the loudest, shoutiest terror in the world. Adorable though and his ears are fine, they checked to be on the safe side.

Ooh, QI is on, channel 2, get watching...

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 26/10/2007 22:11

Julie poor you, long slow car journeys and screaming babies and now two babies to look after, forget the tablet, get the gin out...

How the heck do I make a zebra birthday cake? Where's the famous domestic goddess when I need her? Yooohooo LG&T, over here, I need some help.

Whats QI? You must have been a teeny tiny petite 2 year old, bet you still are teeny and tiny and all floppy straw hat.

Juicylucytoo · 26/10/2007 22:27

JW - How pants. Catch up next week.

Off to bed now, have realised I've stoopidly stayed up past 10 and am already verging on delerium(sp?)

CrowOnTheCradle · 26/10/2007 22:29

What's black and white and eats like a horse?

What's QI? Best tv prog in existence. Stephen Fry panel show where you have to be 'Quite Interesting' to win. Tis funny and educational and should be compulsory viewing.

I was a wee tiddler you're right. Weighed about 10lb at the age M is now, only weighed 6lb more than M when I was 3 years old. Was the smallest child at school (and bullied fairly badly because of it). Not tiddly now. Am fat heifer from eating too much gingerbread and sitting.

Just had a lovely moment and feel uncharacteristically soppy. Sneaked over to check on the sleeping Tank and nuzzled into her chubby neck, waking her up. She stroked my hair a few times, grinned at me and said 'aaahhhh' before going back to sleep. Makes me very happy my little blue eyed girl. Going to curl up with her and watch the next episode of QI on Freeview.

You must get Freeview as Channel 19 is called Dave and it is frankly inspired.

juliewoolie · 26/10/2007 22:32

ooh QI love it but have not the brain power tonight to get the wittisisms nor obviously the ability to spell.

Had a quick gander seems our neverending battle with the to wean or not to wean rages on. Personally going down the route of chuck a bit on my finger and let him suck on it for a taster, this week A has enjoyed ice cream, ice cream and em ice cream.

Also saw someone mentioned the Proclaimers its nice to see that I am not the only one with that guilty pleasure there is something strangely attractive about two bespectacled scottish men,

I know I have only been back 5 mins but what do you do when your LO has figured out how to roll over and then refuses too sleep any other way, am panicking about leaving him that way, also he doesnt know how to get back again and screams when he wakes up. So waking me just to roll him over and the second I am out of the room he flips back again aaaaaarrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh.

OOh the joys of parenthood.

Have a fab weekend everyone will catch up slowly over the weekend and hopefully be more compus mentis by Monday.

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 27/10/2007 08:29

Julie I was just congratulating myself on the fact that although J has just learnt to roll over he doesn't seem to do it in bed, ha I should have known better, we were up 3 times last night after he rolled over and couldn't get back. Does A have a particular side he prefers to roll to? J does so I put him as close to the bars on that side as possible so he physically couldn't get right over It seemed to do the trick, would that work for A?

SOH I have a father called Dave, a bil called Dave, bf's boyfriend called Dave and 2 uncles called Dave. That's enough Daves for any one person

Right I must go and beat give my children some attention, not to mention set about making this farkin zebra cake.

Lupins71 · 27/10/2007 09:02

Hello all well we had our internet cut off so i am writing quick message from my mobile have not been able to get into thread until now anyway apart from little man going to hospital for virus not alot happening

AbbyLou · 27/10/2007 09:05

We have the flying saucer too. Bought it off ebay for £30 and it's in really good condition. Don't think I would have paid £80 for it though! R loves the fingers baby stick for teething too. She stares intently at the mirror ball and moves it round really slowly until C comes and spins it and she giggles uncontrollably.
Dh is a major QI fan too although I must admit it's a bit highbrow for me. I need dumbass tv on a Friday night. We had a lovely time at the Halloween party yesterday. C ate enough junk to sink a battleship and they all ran around like loonies afterwards. I'm so glad I wasn't hosting it, my friends house looked like a bombsite afterwards. We all stayed to help tidy up, I couldn't leve her like that with 2 kids to deal with as well. We're off to Belton House near Grantham today for some Halloween fun. They've got a pumpkin trail and various crafty things, ds should love it plus there is a huge adventure playground there.

AbbyLou · 27/10/2007 09:06

Nice to hear from you Lupin. Hope A is better, sorry to hear he's been poorly.

CrowOnTheCradle · 27/10/2007 09:27

Aww, the lovely Lupins. We miss you, hope the not so little now A is on the mend.

Belton House sounds lovely. I can't wait for M to be old enough to appreciate all of these places as much as I do other children. We took her to the coast last week, a place called Happisburgh (I'll give my other 50p to the person who correctly pronounces this place, no cheating) and she ate some pebbles, threw sand at a dog and shouted at the sea. Can't wait to take her in the sea and chase round on the beach. I won't tell you the real reason we chose Happisburgh in particular cos it makes me a sad git.

Cam, Dave the tv channel is called Dave because everybody knows at least one Dave.

M doesn't roll in her sleep at all, too busy recreating every animal sound known to man, farting and honking.

Would a sleep positioner help with the rolling at night? M can't roll in her grobag, gives up half way over and crashes out.

Well, M fell asleep on her own last night for the first time. Was about to get in bed with her and feed her and she sighed and went to sleep. Only woke twice for food and one of those times I didn't notice until she was latched on and feeding. A good night had by all. Except dh who got home from work at midnight and left again at 6am but he's a big boy now.

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 27/10/2007 13:45

Lups! I was just thinking of you this morning, sorry to hear A has been ill, I hope he has recovered by now.

SOH, Hahaha that is very funny! So do they only show programmes featuring Daves? Ok how do you pronounce the place properly? And why exactly do you go there? Chasing kiddies around the beach and in and out of the sea is fun, but not almost every Sunday for 3 years and with black sand to boot - I'll post a pic of ds1, when small, in his prime at the beach

I'm happy to hear M has started to do some good sleeping, is she a bit happier?

Belton House Abby? I used to go there as a child, I even went to a Ball there once

If you don't have a sleep positioner Julie you could always use a couple of rolled up towels, sausage-like, either side of him with a sheet over the top to stop them unravelling.

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 27/10/2007 13:51

Hello........

PMSL at the BBC report, Lulu got a mention Wooooooo Hooooooo People reading it must have thought we are all a sadistic bunch with the haloween names.

I didn't get H to the gp in the end. It seemed alot better yesterday, lump has got smaller and the redness has gone. He's stopped complaining about it too. We had a 5pm appointment but when we arrived there was still 6 cars in the car park and even with an appointment it's a wait your turn job! Plus it was a locum dr as our's obviously decided to have the day off (how inconsiderate) H said he was happy to leave it the weekend and see how it was Monday.

cam, H had a hearing test last year for the same reasons. results showed that his hearing was perfect and that he was just a normal 4 yr old. NOISY!! He's much better now so I think it's one of those damn phases. Ear defenders work a treat I find

Jorja rolls but she can't roll in her sleeping bag. So no problems when she's in bed thankfully. Don't worry about them being on their tummy's now though, they are far strong enough now to move their heads as they need to. If they'll sleep like it. All of mine have slept on their tummy once they figured out how to roll.

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 27/10/2007 13:56

Forgot, sorry....

My brothers called Dave.

AM, where are you??????

largeginandbloodpunch · 27/10/2007 14:31

Absolutely PMSL at the BBC report! Especially the slashing of the bugaboo tyres

I love IQ, agree it should be compulsory viewing. Stephen Fry has me in fits, has done since the days of Geeves and Wooster.

The flying saucer sounds fab! I want one

Julie poor you with the dreaded car journey, i make too many of those. Beau sleeps on his tummy, he has done since birth. Wont settle any other way, Jonah was the same. Not the done thing i know but i really would not worry about it. If they are big enough to throw themselves over it is unlikely they are unable to wiggle enough to keep themselves out of trouble.

Lups!! Lovely to hear from you, how is little A now? Are you still in the house? Come back to us soon.

Cam a zebra cake, hmmmmmmmmmm. I would suggest buying the black icing, it is a complete nightmare to make and will only be a grey colour. I have made my sister a cow cake and it was a bloomin nightmare. No mixing of the bright white and black icing, very bad. Good luck!

MrsJB glad H is feeling a little better, hernias can come and go so get him checked on Monday. Poor little thing, hope he has a good weekend.

I have sorted all Hugs and Jonah's clothes out, it has taken me all morning. Worth it though Feel all virtuous.

Eating biscuits and drinking coffee now. Anyone?

The channel Dave had me ROFL too SOH. My exp's brother is called Peter but everyone just called him Dave. It just 'stuck' and became a running joke, when the channel came out i could not believe it!!!

madeindevon2 · 27/10/2007 14:39

ok ive been away for over a week and ive no idea whats going on with this at all? hmm book stylie?
all very strange
anyway during this week i have realised that

  1. freddie sometimes sleeps and sometimes doesnt and there is nothing i can do about that! just when i think i cant carry on he sleeps 7 hours and i feel human again...

  2. my days breastfeeding are numbered unless i want to spend all day trying to get him to stay latched on (he comes off all the time....)but he will take an 8oz bottle in one if i will let him!

  3. its possible for poo to come out of the TOP of grobag when sleeping.....unbelievable but its true...all up his back and out the neck of sleeping bag...

CrowOnTheCradle · 27/10/2007 16:42

Dave doesn't just show programmes about blokes called Dave! It is very good though. Shows QI, Red Dwarf, Top Gear, Whose Line, Ray Mears and lots of other things- sort of cult comedy and some topical quizzy stuff. Just googled it and apparently it's 'just for boys, no women allowed'. I must be a bloke then because I love it.

Me and M went for a snooze and a cuddle 2 and a half hours ago and we've both just woken up. That's the longest she's ever slept in the day. Please tell me she won't be up all night now? She's got a bit of a cough and snuffles and I think the sleeping well might be her trying to fight it off. She's very happy today, been playing and grinning all day and had two naps.

M can poo all up her front, back and down her legs on a good morning. Stores it up and bang on 7am KABOOM! It's DH's wake up call.

Happisburgh for the uninterested few is pronounced HAYZ-BRUR. Actually, went to Wymondham today and that's pronounced WINDAM. Nothing in Norfolk is pronounced how it is written. It's the ridiculous accent, almost as bad as that Somerset drawl eh Cam?

And, er I go to Happisburgh because of this group I belong to. It's a small group of people, kind of an Internet forum of sorts but with a rather specialist interest...

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 27/10/2007 17:33

whelks?
