Think my use of smileys may have gone slighty askew

Juicylucytoo · 25/10/2007 22:17

NannyJo I am currently feeding my 4 and half monther 2 hourly at night and randomly during the day. He was doing 3 hourly more or less on the dot, but think I have a growth spurt on my hands.

On good days he feeds 3 hourly (20 mins - 10 mins each breast). On other days it's all random, but at night it's pretty much 2-3 hourly.

Not sure my input is much help to you, but I am trying to ride the growth spurt wave.

nannyjo · 25/10/2007 22:23

I feel like I have moaned unnecesserily now, sorry. Ds feeds every 3 1/2 hours but thats cos he doesn't wake till 8.30 am and it's the only way i can fit in 5 feeds. He has 8.30, 12, 3.30, 7 and 10.30pm then slleps right through.

I'm annoyed at myself, i feel really down and like i ca't cope but really i've got an absolute angel baby and should shut up and be glad of how easy i've got it.

(I have to mention i have a very challenging 3 yaer old too who is EXTREMELY hard work and i think that is thee reason i feel fed up and like i'm failing )

twelveyeargap · 25/10/2007 22:28

It's on Living. You'll catch it on Living+1 if you've missed the start. Mind you, if you've missed the other episodes, then you could wait until it's on 5. They usually start it after it finishes on Living.

Thanks SOH. I'll keep an eye on her. I'm determined not to go back to the bad old days of rocking to sleep, but I'll be sure to do the "check and console" type thing if she gets upset. at Greasy Boy.

Nannyjo - I'm still breastfeeding, but mine feeds roughtly 4-5 times from 7am to 7pm and then usually twice between 7pm and 7am, but sometimes 3 times. You could try him without the late feed and see if he goes through. If he doesn't then you can always go back to it.

Juicylucytoo · 25/10/2007 22:42

Thanks TYG. We're cheapskate freeviewers, so it'll be Channel 5 all the way for me

Nannyjo - I only have this baby, so can't even remotely imagine looking after a 3 year old while doing this crazy on demand feeding malarky. You're doing great - don't be too hard on yourself.

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 08:29

NannyJo

J normaly feeds 9am, 1pm, 4pm, 6.30pm & 9pm she then goes down and sleeps through til we start again at 9am the following morning. She is on 7oz bottles and tends to stock up and go less between feeds as the day goes on.
If she sleeps after her 6.30pm bottle we'll put her to bed and won't wake her she'll normaly still do 12hrs but 6.30am is not to my liking (middle of the night still here)but she often won't sleep before she's had that last bottle it's like she know's she's not quite got enough reserve in there yet. I have a 5yr old and a very, very naughty 2yr old princess to deal with too, it's bloomin hard work really, I know how you feel.
He sounds like he's doing just fine. You could just try to bring his last feed a little earlier so you can go to bed earlier.

Don't worry, be happy, do do do do do dody do dody do. Do something pro today, it'll spur you on and give you some motivation, empty that junk drawer/cupboard (if you have one?)clean out the fridge. It will get you going again.

JL, I probably won't shop until Mon or Tues now, I hope you are not in a desparate hurry for them.

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 08:39

JL, if you don't like the way the new board is you can change it back to the classic look. I've kept the new colour scheme but have put it back to reading most recent message first rather than in book style! Click on the customise talk board link above the posts on this page.

largeginandbloodpunch · 26/10/2007 08:48

Morning all

How are we all on this shite fine morning? All pissed off happy then? Excellent news...

Im up waiting for the Sky man, he is coming to install a magic time wasting device for our perusal Goodbye freeview box.

TYG i have known B to do the same thing recently, he usually goes off to bed without a peep. I have bought him back down the stairs and he has gone up no problem an hour or so later, No pattern to it either, babies are sooo odd. I like the existential crisis and will blame it on that from now on, can we have them too? I would have scoffed the goodies too btw Silly not to really.

SOH dont feel bad about the Medised, it is making M's life a little happier and you cannot feel bad about that. I will try not to call you SOH when i meet you but make no promises. Several times while posting i have written peoples RL names and changed them just before the 'post message' We cant wait to see you, im sure you wont be shy round me and my 'flesh' PMSL MrsJB It is quite delightful though, smells of coconut today, im clinging on to the summer... "What summer" i hear us all cry in unison.

Dishyblonde\Cam lovely to see you back, im glad that you had a smashing time with J and D. How lovely to have them all to yourself for a while. It is so nice to get time with them alone sometimes. We missed you xxx

Must go and get dressed or the Sky man will have a fit when he opens the door, unsupported norks in a lady who has bf 6 children is a sight to behold. In no way is it a good one

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 26/10/2007 08:50

Morning all

Wow, I went away for a few days and the whole "look" has changed. I found myself starting reading from 24 September (not realising it wasn't!). It took a while to sink in!

C feeds 7am, 10.30am, 2.30pm, 7.30pm and 9.30pm before settling for the night (all times approximate . Sometimes he wakes in the night and sometimes he doesn't. I found myself with a very painful blocked milk duct last week due to messing about and trying to drop the 10.30am feed. He also has 3 solid feeds a day - breakfast at 9.00am, lunch (2 courses)at 12 noon ish and tea (sometimes 2 courses)at 5pm ish. It sounds a lot and I feel like I am always feeding him! He won't drink water or juice with his meals so that's why he still wants his b/fs in between I think.

He is really struggling to pooh. Any advice? He cries when he has to go, really strains and struggles and there is only a very small lump to show for it!

Juicylucytoo · 26/10/2007 08:58

Hubble Bubble toil and bo88ox, O went back to 2 hourly (sometimes 1 hourly feeds and has been awake since 5
I won't need an outfit for hallowe'en at this rate I'll be looking like a real zombie by then...

And to top it off he's refusing to feed lying down anymore, therefore I can't even get a sneaky 40 winks when he's feeding. Buggar.

AbbyLou · 26/10/2007 09:12

Morning all. Well R seems a little better today. She had a good night and only woke a handful of times coughing but went straight back to sleep. SOH thanks for the advice re croup should I need it.
R feeds (milk) at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm and then sleeps right through. She was being weaned quite a few weeks ago but seems to have gone off the idea at the mo so I'm not pushing it. I just let her take the lead. If she does have food it's at 7, 1 and 4 but sometimes not all three. I sound really rubbish don't I, but she's gone from loving food to not being very fussed so I thought why bother?
We've got a Halloween party for the kids this afternoon at a friends house. We met at NCT classes the first time round so it's really nice to all catch with our los. Most of us have got 2 now as well so it's nice to meet up with mums who have such similar aged children. Need to nip out later with the kids to buy some goodies to take. I have been allocated funsize chocolate and popcorn - sounds just like my kind of party. Let's just hope the food makes it there....

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 09:26

JL, I am sorry for you, I would be so crap and crabby without my sleep, I don't know how you function. You obviously have the determination though, I would have given up by now for sure and thrown some formula down him.

Your flesh is delighful, lg&t, not that I got that close to it obviously, Gee I'm so crap with words, I try hard I really do but I need to go back to school. I went to a good school ffs, what did I do all day.

AbbyLou · 26/10/2007 09:42

Where have all our profiles gone?

largeginandbloodpunch · 26/10/2007 09:51

Were you snogging boys behind the bike sheds MrsJB??? hehe

B just ate 3 spoonfulls of brekkie and had some booby, he is zonked. Just as i was taking him off me a pigeon flew in to the window and i leapt out of my skin! Poor B, his little bottom lip started to wobble.

JL hope you manage to get some sleep. It's a touchy subject in our house at the moment. DH was complaining last night how 'tired' he is and using it as all an excuse for all sorts of things... no weight training, not revising for big exam today etc... He was saying how he used to get 12 hours a night and have a nap in the day.

I have asked him what has changed for him as as far as i know he sleeps all night! I know this i get up and down and see him sleeping peacefully next to me, he also asks how many times i got up in the night every morning! Deep breaths and all that bollox

Am off to make some soup and bread, will share it later xx

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 26/10/2007 09:58

JL, that's tough going, hope you get some sleep soon. Do you know I honestly have no idea how frequently I feed J He is still bf and has some cereal at breakfast if there is time and some veg/fruit at about 5.30 and a bottle before bedtime at 6.45. Apart from that I just do it when it feels right Very scientific.. He doesn't look like 'he's late for lunch' so I'm sure he's not suffering He wakes around 5.30 for a bf and then goes back down again for another couple of hours.

Where are all the lovely profiles??

TYG, if you are looking for something to do, do feel free to come down here and make me some of that lovely food you made for your sis.

I can confirm that LG&T's flesh is truly delightful

God are we the only people in the whole world who still only have 5 channels on their TV????

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 10:00

Appenrently our profiles e now under our names, Just click on the name!

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 10:02

PMSL lg&t, I ent to an all girls school. Tink I actualy spent most of the day dreaming about what sweets I could buy in the shop on the way home and what was for dinner, biffateen as I was.

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 10:04

ffs, Someone has stolen a load of letters off my key board this morning.

largeginandbloodpunch · 26/10/2007 10:55

Snogging girls then MrsJB

I have no idea how often B feeds either Cam. Sometimes i whip out the booby 3-4 times in an hour and then not for 4 hours! No pattern to it which i think is why im struggling to switch to bottle feeding.

TYG come and see me for something to do SOH will be coming to see me, we could have a mini meet. It was a lovely thing for you to do filling up your sil freezer, she must be so happy.

Im on hold to some solicitors firm that i have been fighting with for months now. They claim i owe £759 to British Gas from 2003, i wasnt even a British Gas customer then!! I have had to prove it and now have to phone them AGAIN. Im fuming... ooooohhhh they have answered!

largeginandbloodpunch · 26/10/2007 11:00

Gah! British Gas have not even answered the bloody query. Just confirmes from when the amount has been owed from. Now the chap on the phone is going to go back to them and see what the bloomin heck is going on, he was called Andre a very nice sounding South African

B still asleep, Sky man has been and i have parsnips roasting for soup and bread herb bread rising in the kitchen. If i could just wave my little wand to rustle me up a bacon sarnie life would almost be bearable again

Bensonbluebird · 26/10/2007 12:11

Dear all,

Wrote a long post last night and then lost it when 'the change' happened. I'm struggling to adjust and the customise talk board feature isn't working for me.

A is having his first day at the CM today and I am celebrating by feeling a little sad, doing lots of cleaning and catching up on my emails. I have promised myself I'll do something nice next friday.

To add to the feeding log..
A feeds at 5.30 then goes back to sleep till about 6.30/7, has some breakfast, then 10.30ish, lunch at 12, feed at 3 or so then tea at 5, milk at 6.30 before going to bed, then midnight, then 3.30 and maybe 4.30 or maybe every 2 hours after midnight.... no worries about him eating enough then. We are sleeping in the sitting room at the moment because we have both had a horrible cough and didn't want to wake Aidan. I have to say it is great being able to read in bed again.

We have just had a houseswap enquiry from a couple in Paris who want to swap for Christmas. We're going to do it! I'm quite excited, I've only ever been through Paris before, never stopped for more than a couple of hours. They have a baby too so will have all the stuff we need.

Off to rummage in the fridge for some lunch

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 12:59

Oh house swap for Christmas, what a cool idea!! Remember bluebird you will be a Parisian not French for the holidays, there is a difference I'll have you known! They are a nation of their own so they believe.

Bensonbluebird · 26/10/2007 13:31

Hmmmm, what do I need to know Mrs JB?

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 26/10/2007 19:49

Nothing really BB, it's just something thats sid with the french, that the Parisians feel they are one of their own. Sounds fab though!
