Hello my lovelies

Just been catching up.
MID - ewwww about the super escaping poo!
JW - I used to pop rolled up blankets either side of Ella to stop the rolling
Lups, hi, sorry i have been so crap in keeping in touch - must try harder

Love the news article - very funny

Am knackered at the moment. Got so much to so and so little time to do it. Have managed to off load some stuff - MIL does the cleaning my mum does the ironing and Ella at nursery mon & fri pms. Still dont seem to be making any head way with all the bits i need to do.

Ella is showing all the signs of teething AGAIN but no actual sign of the tooth. Weaning is going well still. She munched through a large portion of Mango for tea today. She is also getting up on her knees a lot so am guessing that fairly soon we will have the delight of crawling.

We have decided to move house as this one is not big enough with dh working from home (office is in Ella's room). We found a house the other week and our offer was accepted yesterday. There are only 3 people in the chain so they think we could be in by Xmas. We must be mad!

Having a Halloween party for 25 kids next Saturday have to spend the week planning that. I have a hall booked and a 12x12 Nemo Bouncy castle booked. Just need to sort the food. If anyone is near me and fancies popping over you are welcome to come and join in the madness fun

anneme · 27/10/2007 19:20

Why is page 29 very short? All confusing.

Sleeping/feeding - hmm. I am another of those who has no particular routine during the day - I just plug him on my boob as and when necessary. Fixed (ish) times are that S has his last feed as 7 ish and goes down for the night and usually wakes 7ish the next morning although once in a while he will wake at night and I will just take him into bed with me and feed him as and when.

Hey Abby - Belton eh? Only a few mins from my parents' house and about an hour or so from us. Also we are about 45 mins from Cambridge - is that close to you SOH Do I feel an Eastern meet up coming along?

Better go - DS1 rebelling against bed time

AbbyLou · 27/10/2007 20:02

Hi all, well we had a lovely day doing the family fun trail at Belton House. There were loads of clues on a Halloween theme, things to make and C loved the huge adventure playground. R was an agel all day althouh still seems to be drinking far less than she should.
I am just relaxing watching Vernon (yum). It's my birthday tomorrow so dh is cooking us a meal. We had homemade chicken samosas to start and they were gorgeous. I'm eagerly awaiting the next course .
Tomorrow we have my parents coming round to treat us to lunch for my birthday so no cooking to do tomorrow either! Have a lovely night everyone, I intend to!!!

aprilmeadow · 27/10/2007 20:23

Feeding/Sleeping:
Ella normally wakes between 7.30 & 8am, i feed her then about 15mins later she has breakfast. Goes down between 1-1.5hrs after waking. Feeds about 10.30, then feeds at 12pm and 15mins later has lunch. Down for a snooze when she starts looking tired. Feeds again (sometimes) at about 3pm. again at 5.30 and tea at about 6.15. Feed again at 7.30 and then how ever many times she wakes in the night.

aprilmeadow · 27/10/2007 20:47

Abby - Many happy returns for tomorrow. Enjoy your day & the food

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 27/10/2007 22:43

One baby boy - not happy tonight. It might be a long one. One zebra cake not yet finished. One birthday party tomorrow with 16 6 year olds. I feel old.

Happy Birthday and have a lovely day Abby, its good to see you are being spoilt

aprilmeadow · 27/10/2007 22:59

oh no Cam, i hope J settles and you do get some sleep. How much more do you have to do to Zebra?

largeginandbloodpunch · 28/10/2007 09:57

How is the Zebra cake Cam? You are not old and you look gorgeous. Just give them all a G&T when they walk in and all will be well. Good luck...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBY!!!!!

Im off to collect the children and i get HUGS back I cannot contain my excitment

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 28/10/2007 10:24

Ok zebra is done and it looks ridiculous, more like a sheep on acid but hey ho I guess dd won't care J was awake pretty much the whole night, with a runny nose and lots of crying, so I reckon its his teeth. And its raining.

But how exciting to be getting Hugs back Drive safely its a long way. You can always come via us and join the party

CrowOnTheCradle · 28/10/2007 10:39

Happy birthday to you Abby!! Have a lovely, relaxing day. Here's hoping the weather's a bit nicer where you are...

Am delightfully pissed off hormonal this morning. AF returned with an absolute vengeance at 3am and I had nothing in the house to deal with it and it being Sunday morning, the 24hr places were all closed. I used all of my Blue Peter/Girl Guiding knowledge to fashion something out of micropore and cotton wool. I though a baby that fed every 2hrs would prevent the return of this hell. That was the one consolation. I've been robbed.

Is your cycle always odd after having a baby all you seasoned professionals? I said to dh about 6 days ago 'if I didn't know better I'd say I was ovulating' and I was right it turns out. However, by my calculations I shouldn't be bleeding for another week or so. Luteal phase far too short. Is it normal to be a bit wonky after having a baby/breastfeeding?

Pissing down Delightfully wet here in Norfolk and M was horrendous from 4am as she thought it was playtime. Eventually got her settled at 7am and MIL phones up with a chipper 'we're outside your house on a boat what larks, come down, it's all jolly Sunday morning fun' etc. I grumped down in my dressing gown, dragging a prematurely and rudely awakened Mathilda with me, sat on their boat and tried not to sob hormonally.

Grump grump grumpety grump...

Hubblebubbletoilandjaffacakes · 28/10/2007 11:07

Happy Birthday Abby!! Have a lovely day.

lg&t, I bet you are very happy to be getting Hugs back. xx

SOH, It's very normal to be all over the place for a few months until your hormones sort themselves out. I bled on and off for 4 weeks when mine returned this time, it was a nightmare and very heavy to start with. This month mine seem to have returned to normal. It always took a few months to regulate itself again after all of mine so just try to be patient. no pun intended.

Hope the party goes well cam.

AM,

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 28/10/2007 11:20

ooooo April in my misery I forgot to say how exciting to be moving house and possibly by Christmas too. Have you sold yours then? We went through Fleet on the train the other day and I had a good look out of the window at the lovely big houses to see if I could catch a glimpse of you all

Sorry SOH for the af. I'm pretty certain i will be joining you any day now, you could be up and down for a while until it settles. Mine always seems to sort itself out pretty quickly.

Could do with a boat down here today.

Party is at 2.30, operation safari is under way. I'm only in it for the presents

CrowOnTheCradle · 28/10/2007 11:32

Wow, moving house, just read that. How exciting. We're thinking of moving before Christmas too into a safer rental property that isn't next to a river or too small for us. And that's with one baby. Straw hats off to you...

Can I come to your party Cam?

Meant to say, how about a Cambridge meet? Good idea, I'm up for it.

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 28/10/2007 11:53

Morning

We are only 14 miles from Belton so have been lots and its lovely. Use to live in Grantham.

Cambridge for a meet up sounds good to me, not too far down the A1.

Anyone up for it?

All ok here - not sure how the hour will affect us. C seems to be missing his mid morning b/f today so we will go straight on to lunch when he starts moaning. OK for him, but messes me about on the sore bood front!

A/f not returned here yet thank god as we are not using contracetption either! Contraception was mentioned last night "after the act" so must get something sorted!

Mum2G · 28/10/2007 19:00

Hi all, happy birthday Abbey hope you got spoilt rotten! Hope party went well Cam

is it me, or does there never seem to be enough hours in the day?

Hope all goes well with your house move Am, how exciting! I would like to move, after harping on to dh for ages about wanting to live in a period property. Our next move will defintately be a low maintenance newer one with a bigger lounge for all those toys, baby seats etc, strangely all the rooms in this house are a good size except for the lounge.

Nothing much to report here, Got to try and find a childminder next week, and will then get back to my work two days a week, it will be strange leaving G but at the same time nice to have some time.

SOH, all timing aside, your MIL sounds quite nice, i wish mine turned up inviting me on a boat trip, instead of her usual hyacinth bouquet/pauline fowler routine!

Shame that Daniel bloke got voted off of X factor, he was quite cute i thought.

Right off to investigate the roast lamb smells coming from the kitchen!

anneme · 28/10/2007 19:32

My AF appeared today and, this may sound weird, but i was quite sad about it - not just the obvious annoyance of it after 14 months or so of no tampax etc but also because it means that S is very much not a newborn anymore and next thing I know he will be going to school/university/leaving home....
Cambridge meetup would be good - I think I would have to get the train from Pboro because I am still too chicken to drive....I'm up for it though!

SorcerersCameroonianApprentice · 28/10/2007 19:47

I survived! The party went well, they made binoculars, decorated party bags, went on an animal hunt, played pin the tail, musical bumps and sleeping lions and ate a load of crap delicious food. What a lovely bunch of kids they are, but blardy hell Abby you are brave, there's no way I could be a teacher. The sweetest moment was when they all sang along spontaneously to 'We're all going to the zoo tomorrow' whilst eating their party tea. Too cute. They even recognised that the sheep on acid was actually a zebra

J on the other hand is quite miserable red eyes, runny nose and he's doing that old man gurning face. Come on teeth!

I am wondering if I could make it to a Cambridge meet up....

Mum2, how is your back now?

Hope you all had a good weekend.

AbbyLou · 28/10/2007 20:26

Hi guys, thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes, you're all so nice! Well, I have had a lovely day. Mum and dad came over today and took us all out for dinner which was nice and I got lots of lovely presents too.
Cam, well done for getting through the party, it sounds like they all had a great time. Being a teacher is a doddle is just all the paperwork that is an arse ache. I can say that now as I sit here up to my eyeballs in planning. I know, I know, I've just had a week off but as Mum2G says, there just aren't enough hours in the day! I'm almost done but just have a few more things to do.

juliewoolie · 28/10/2007 22:06

who mentioned AF surely it cant come back while you are feeding as much as you are SOH, reckon mine must be right round the corner, have got quite used to not having it.

LG&T yeah to getting the brood back do you reckon hugs got an ASBO for doing delightfully naughty things

Glad the party was a success, with you on the mizzog teething babies A goes from being a fab gorgeeous little man to a raving lunatic whose face looks like it is going to explode in the space of a few mins.

ABBY glad you had a lovely birthday.

I am tre (see mrs JB high school french not forgotten) excited about my b-day, DP got tickets for Take That and a naughty night in a hotel hope his back is better by then

So funeral tom feel ok about it more concerend that it is bang in the middle of A's feeding time dont really think its the done thing to get the ladies out at a funeral.

Also hows this for bad timing my DP is having some full on injections into his spine and then electrical pulses into his nerves at the same time I am at the funeral, and I cant find anyone to sit with A tom eve so I can go see him when we get back, bugger bollox and damnation.

Right dream feed and off to bed for me.

juliewoolie · 28/10/2007 22:07

obviously high school french was forgotten Tres is what I meant

CrowOnTheCradle · 29/10/2007 08:34

Hope all goes well today JW. I will be thinking of you. FWIW, I think it's lovely to see a woman feeding at a funeral, it's a timely reminder of new life at a juncture when you need it most. Do I sound like a Hallmark card yet? I wish you a lot of strength for getting through today and love to your Mum too.

AF can and does come back when you're feeding this much. It's also worse than it's ever been and is not helping the anaemia I'm sure. Feel distinctly shaky. Also discovered an interesting and previously unknown downside to breastfeeding a teething baby. She has started to clamp down to ease the pain and this has resulted in a seriously blocked duct. Sat at 1am in my kitchen with a hot compress and a pump trying to rectify the huge, red, hot, lump I'd developed. I think I've got the worst of it and it shot out like a jet. Have had next to no sleep though and feel like a zombie.

LG&T, how's the clan? Were they well behaved?

CrowOnTheCradle · 29/10/2007 08:36

PS, don't know if I'm more at Take That or the naughty hotel. My mind rejects both concepts.

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 29/10/2007 09:54

SOH - I had the horrible blocked duct thing a week ago, really painful so feel for you. I ended up at drs but they couldnt do anything as it hadnt turned to mastitis.

C trying to grab keyboard so cant stay long.

Just been looking at trains and if we do a cambridge meet up I will be changing at peterborough anneme.

Bettter go, grumpy baby doesnt seem to like mumsnet !!

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 29/10/2007 10:02

SOH - can't remember when M is 26 weeks - is it this weekend coming up? C is 26 weeks on saturday and I just can't think if they were born the same weekend?

Will you be starting weaning "on the day"?

Weaning here going well with lots of veg and fruit purees. Not really looking forward to adding meat but can't wait for porridge, toast etc. He has been having fromage frais for a week now and really likes it. Constipations still a problem. Does anyone know when I can give him weetabix? He still wakes at least once in the night for a feed so the weaning never made any difference to that but he has been much more settled in the day.

Thinking of you today JW.

The "gained" hour has made a mockery of my tentative routine!! How is everyone else coping?

Mum2G · 29/10/2007 10:39

Morning,

My back is getting better now thanks Cam, i am being very good at doing my physio exercises! Certainly doin't want another week at the MIL's - they had to make a Eight hour round trip to come and get us, and haven't let me forget it either!

The clock change hasn't seemed to make much diff, just put G to bed when clock said seven as normal - he was very tired for his afternoon nap yesterday though, as we were out in the day he didn't get much kip - doesn't sleep much on the run, also i think the teething is interfering with the lengths of his naps!

G is back in his nest, after he woke up whenever his dummy fell out in his new cotbed, we will try again next weekend (in the nest, the matress curls round him, so he can just turn his head to get to his dummy), they don't tell you about that in the blimmin brochure!
