Hey ladies, it's been a while. Hope you all are okay. Xx Zach has been a job with bottle feeding. Crying even before the teat reaches him and only can get 1-2oz into him with peace most of the time. He'd be arching his back and fighting so hard as if we are feeding him poison. The husband has to run up and downstairs to distract him to get milk in him! HV visited and said it might be silent reflux. I was reading the posts just now and learnt a few of our little ones suffering similar probs @BabyBird20 @Pegase did Gaviscon help ? Xx

LillianFullStop · 10/08/2020 22:21

@Magpie21 if it's any consolation week 6 is meant to be the peak of fussiness and it held true for DS (now 10 weeks).

My period came back at 9 weeks and yes I did notice more bloating the week before. I was hoping these extra inches were just post natal bloating but nope after 10 weeks I can't really chalk it up to that anymore!

How is everyone finding their babies during tummy time? My DS seems to have good neck strength when being held up but when on his tummy he seems to just wants to chew/lick on the mat and has no desire to lift his head lol

Blizy · 11/08/2020 03:47

@LillianFullStop ds does the same, holds her like a pro when on my chest or over my shoulder but the minute I put her on the mat she's face planting!

@umabb that does sound like silent reflux, poor Zach. Gaviscon didn't help rose, it just made her extremely constipated. She's now on 5mg of omeprazole a day I also put colief drops in her bottle. This has helped so much.

Girlinajumpsuit · 11/08/2020 09:23

@Gigitree my LO has suddenly started sleeping way more in this hot weather. It might just be a maturation thing ( he's just over 2 months). But he is now sleeping 7/8 hours a night consistently and taking a lot less milk during the day. In total he probably still has around 7 feeds a day including a cluster in the evening before bed so am not worried but do find it weird he's not drinking more in the hot weather!

MsMiaWallace · 11/08/2020 10:00

Guys,
My post natal bleeding stopped for almost 2 weeks, yesterday I got spotting today more bleeding. Would I be right thinking this is my 1st period?
I'm 7 weeks since c section.

Smiffette · 11/08/2020 10:34

@Girlinajumpsuit ooo I wish my LO would sleep that long at night. This last 7-10 days she's been sleeping initially from 10-01:30 ish then has a feed then wakes every 1-1.5 hours until 6/7.. she's feeding plenty in the day time and gaining weight. We just saw the health visitor today and she's gained 9ozs over the last 2 weeks.

She's 8 weeks and 3 days now

umabb · 11/08/2020 11:58

@Blizy I was just reading your posts again and exactly the same with Rose, the husband had to stomp up down stairs to get milk into Zach in the last couple of days for most feeds. He didn't feed much since last night 8:30pm and until 9am this morning excerpt a few mins on my boob which wasn't efficient at all. He didn't produce any wet nappies since midnight which was 9 hours long! we called the gp and now got prescription for Gaviscon will try to feed him with that next feed around 1230. I'm REALLY nervous about it after reading all sorts of side effects online. His problem seems to have developed in the last 3 days. The heat didn't help but it's definitely beyond that. He's 10 weeks tomorrow and I looked up online it seems to be a common age to develop these problems. It's so hard :(

umabb · 11/08/2020 12:02

@MsMiaWallace my bleeding stopped 3-4 weeks and week 5 i started bleeding again which cleared in 3-4 days like my usual period. But I haven't had my 2nd period yet

UKtoSK · 11/08/2020 13:08

My bleeding stopped in week 3 but then started again very heavy in week 4. I went to get it checked out and it was just some leftover blood that hadn’t cleared out yet. Seems to have stopped again now. It’s apparently normal to stop and start a bit before it’s all done. I wouldn’t assume a period this early, especially if you’re breastfeeding. Not sure how early you can ovulate post birth if not breastfeeding though.

@LillianFullStop Jia does the same thing, holds her head up so well on my shoulder or chest but just licks the mat on her tummy! She is able to lift her head and turn it from one side to the other on the mat but she just chooses not to recently! She’s five weeks now and did better at 2 weeks than she’s doing now... Glad she’s not the only one!

MsMiaWallace · 11/08/2020 13:12

Thanks guys. Don't think it is period after all as I think it's a bit light for that.

Blizy · 11/08/2020 13:12

@umabb I hope the gaviscon works for you. It's so horrible seeing them in pain and being so helpless. I'm guessing you are keeping him upright after feeding and not laying him flat to sleep? I even have to pop a pillow under the changing mat to prop Rose up or she the reflux starts. If he has issues with constipation I find a tummy massage works wonders.

UKtoSK · 11/08/2020 13:57

@Blizy we don’t seem to be having the same reflux issues as others here but Jia does spit up a lot especially on the changing table (think lifting her legs/bum up is what does it) and I never thought to raise the changing mat up, I might try that!

Pegase · 11/08/2020 14:25

I had the same at 7 wks post CS @MsMiaWallace and pretty sure it wasnt my period as after abt three days it stopped

Rinoa · 12/08/2020 09:14

Anyone else’s baby having stomach pains after their jabs? At least I think they are stomach pains. LO wakes up clenching hands and feet suddenly like there’s cramps in his tummy. Maybe it’s the diarrhoea. That’s seems to be bothering him the most

Magpie21 · 12/08/2020 10:24

@Rinoa @uktosk I think the weather is affecting my LO as for the past few days she has been straining more for poos (and they are normal in texture so not hard like you might expect) and also has been spitting up a lot more than ever before (and we even had a projectile vomiting incident).

Well I'm hoping it's the weather!

LillianFullStop · 12/08/2020 10:55

@Rinoa my DS had diarrhoea for a day after (nurse said the norovirus oral vaccine might cause it) I think the pain must be in the site of the jab as it can cause muscle ache/bruising. I remember my DD after her first jabs she was happy until she kicked her legs and then she would cry.

@UKtoSK same for my DS! When he was younger he cried but tried to lift his head. Now he doesn't cry but is happy to have a face full of the playmat Hmm

Blizy · 12/08/2020 11:25

@Rinoa Rose had tummy pains after her injections on Monday. She's fine now though. How's your little one doing?
I'm having a sad morning, ds started school today, I'm missing my little sidekick.

mrssunshinexxx · 12/08/2020 11:47

My babies poos are complete liquid still thought that was normal? X

Gigitree · 12/08/2020 15:31

Are you still breastfeeding @mrssunshinexxx
I think that makes them looser?
Grace is on formula and hers are like a paste like hummus 😂😂

Feeling really down and lonely atm. I don’t want to go out because of Covid and this heat. Grace will only sleep on me in the daytime, so I feel like all I do all day is sit around.
Occasionally I go to see my parents and occasionally I’m up early before the heat and go for a walk.
But I feel like I’m just sat here feeding or cuddling the whole day. Before I had Grace I would have thought that would be the best thing ever, what a dream to just watch tv and cuddle a cute baby. But in reality it’s really a lot lonely than I imagined.

Busylizzie85 · 12/08/2020 15:57

@mrssunshinexxx Ivys is very lose as it were but I read that's normal for breastfed babies, she's also only doing a dirty nappy once to twice a week now the rest of the time it's just wet nappies.

@Gigitree I'm the same it gets very lonely and I feel I have lost any confidence I had before all of this. My weight is getting me down as I have barely lost anything and this heat is not helping as it's putting me off going out even more. 🙁

Pegase · 12/08/2020 16:10

Anyone else's baby really sleepy after jabs? Little one had first jabs yesterday and has barely been awake today apart from for feeds. Not sure if it is the jabs or the heat...

UKtoSK · 12/08/2020 16:31

@Gigitree I’ve been unemployed since end of Feb and home alone since April when my husband went back to work so I was looking forward to being busy all day with a baby but it’s a lot more sitting down than I expected... I didn’t expect to miss doing housework! Monday and Tuesday this week we took baby to visit friends and it was SO nice to spend a couple of hours just chatting with another adult! Felt human again and not just like a milk machine. I’m not sure what the covid situation is like where you are and what the rules are now about seeing other people but if you can safely visit friends or have them visit you I would highly recommend it!

Gigitree · 12/08/2020 17:55

I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling the same @Busylizzie85 I don’t think the heat is helping at all it’s really getting me down. And Covid isn’t helping as it’s not like we can just pop out for a mooch around the air conditioned shops!

@UKtoSK that sounds very Similar to me i was unemployed as of the end of last year and then lockdown happened in March and I was very strict and I still am about going out anywhere unnecessarily.
I’ve been to see my sister once a week for the past couple of weeks but that’s it. I was trying to go out for a walk once a day before the weather got so hideous.

I definitely wasn’t prepared for how lonely I’d feel.

mrssunshinexxx · 12/08/2020 19:36

@Gigitree sorry to hear you are struggling have you a gRden with any shade ? Have you got some friends that could come and sit distanced ? I've just bought a snooze shade as my parasol was crap so back out walking. Went to a cafe and sat outside with a friend for the first time this morning it was so nice to do something normal

Can't helP wishing I had been meeting my mum 😔

@Busylizzie85 really?! How old is your baby?
Nelly is 7 weeks and has about 8 dirty nappies in a day ! X

Busylizzie85 · 12/08/2020 19:38

She's 8 weeks @mrssunshinexxx she stopped having dirty nappies everyday after 6 weeks! Everything I have read says it's normal and I mentioned it to the health visitor and the doctor and none of them seems worried 🤷🏻‍♀️
