I attached photos to that but they disappeared... I’ll try again...
We usually have to swaddle her to get her to sleep so it’s so cute seeing her sleeping with her arms up like that 😍

@Gigitree so sticky isn't it!

Personally when it's hot like this I set a 4 hourly alarm so she doesn't get dehydrated I'm very paranoid about stuff like that x.

@UKtoSK dreading jabs here ! Oh I love that animal baby grow we have that pattern in a blanket x

Busylizzie85 · 08/08/2020 07:10

@Gigitree Ivy slept the most she ever slept night before last she went from 8:45 till nearly 3am when I dream fed her in the end she did stir a couple of times but went back to sleep, then she went through till 7! However last night she was back to normal waking twice but still went slightly longer then normal. Feeding wise was about the same during the days. She's 8 weeks today so for us I think she's just got to a stage of better sleep.

@UKtoSK she is a little darling I love the way they sleep with there arms up!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 08/08/2020 07:11

@Blizy have you tried winding before feeding? Sometimes babies get get windy by lying there doing nothing! I used to have to wind ds before feeding... he had all the reflux medication as well

Can't cope with all these tiny babies!! Dd is on the 98th percentile for length and is outgrowing all her 3-6 month clothes already. Shes not even 3 months!!

Pegase · 08/08/2020 09:58

@AndddddHerewegoagain we are around 98th percentile for length and high 80s for weight (why I have no idea - we are regular sized parents!!). Have switched to 3-6 month clothes now.

Frugi clothes come up very big so worth the investment.

Gigitree · 08/08/2020 12:19

Yeah @mrssunshinexxx the weather is so gross! If I ever have another baby I’m having a winter baby lol!
I’m so paranoid about her getting dehydrated but she just seems so uninterested in her milk at the moment ☹️
I keep offering it to her at regular intervals but she started getting overtired and distressed
she has been having wet & dirty nappies, so I don’t think she’s dehydrated (yet?)
She’s a good weight so I’m not so worried about the volume of formula in the short term, just the hydration side of things.

AndddddHerewegoagain · 08/08/2020 13:20

@pegase she has a whole wardrobe waiting for her! My friend had a girl than a boy and i had the opposite so we've swapped all the clothes over!

We are also both quite short so no idea why we have massive babies. The 3 year old is also the 98th percentile for height!!

@Gigitree have you tried feeding her when shes asleep?

Blizy · 08/08/2020 13:27

@AndddddHerewegoagain I don't think of that, will Defo try so ding her before next feed. Rose is still very tiny, only just on the 2nd centile. Newborn clothes are still a little big on her too. I am quite worried about how little she is.

Pegase · 08/08/2020 13:30

Is she tracking that line @Blizy ?

Gigitree · 08/08/2020 13:50

@AndddddHerewegoagain
No I haven’t tried that recently- I’ve only done that once a few weeks ago! Might give it a try! Thanks fir the suggestion!

Blizy · 08/08/2020 13:52

@pegase, yes she is tracking. She's got an ENT clinic appointment on the 18th, hopefully get some answers to her feeding and breathing issues.

Mj2196 · 08/08/2020 14:36

@AndddddHerewegoagain i can’t believe your dd is growing out of 3-6 already! What does she weigh? Jj went to them last week, is also 98th for length hes 63cm, i was beginning to think he was a Chunky bubba🙈

How are c section ladies finding driving ? I attempted yesterday but wasn’t confident enough to take the 2 kiddies out on my own . We have a fairly big car though so I’m putting it down to that

Pegase · 08/08/2020 16:17

@Mj2196 driving been fine for me but getting buggy in the boot is a real challenge

SerBrienneOfHouseTarth · 09/08/2020 13:06

@Blizy Is she in pain, crying with the wind? If so it could be nonIgE mediated cow milk protein allergy. Allergy UK have good advice on it here if you read down: www.allergyuk.org/information-and-advice/conditions-and-symptoms/469-cows-milk-allergy. Both my boys have it/had it; current wee Mr is on hydrolysed formula which has broken down proteins. It causes reflux too.
If she's not upset with it then the squirming grunting could just be her trying to poo! My wee one does it a lot and HV said they basically can't control their muscles to squeeze it out yet so they can squirm for ages.

The Baby Detective has good tips for winding. The one that helped us most is if you cant get wind up, lie them on the floor to wriggle for a minute or two then pick back up!

My wee one is 9 weeks and is in 3-6 month clothes! He's 50th for weight and 75th for length so not enormous I don't think!

BabyBird20 · 09/08/2020 18:34

Is anyone trying to use gaviscon with a breastfeeding baby? I am having a complete nightmare trying to get it in him with screaming crying and choking making feeding an awful experience all round!! Any tips appreciated!! 😩😩

Zoey92 · 09/08/2020 18:43

Hows everyone been for getting little one registered, I'm so frustrated, i know we're in awkward times atm but Amelia will be 7weeks on Wednesday.
I've contacted 3times now , as registering is being done over video call in my area at the minute.
Same with our GP appointments, i received her NHS number but still no 6/8 week appointment through. Sorry i just needed to vent.
We've had a very grouchy misses during the day atm, she is sleeping in 4/5hr stretches during the night so now seems to be fighting her naps during the day.

SerBrienneOfHouseTarth · 09/08/2020 19:46

@Zoey92 I have an appt for registering on 18th Aug and wee one will almost be 11 weeks then. My HV made my 6/8 wk appt for me. They are combining the GP check with the 8 week vaccines in my area.

My wee one is exact same with sleep! Fighting the day sleep but not bad at night! I'm going to dig out my copy of Healthy Sleep, Happy Child for a reread so we can start getting into a better routine when the older one goes back to school next week.

mrssunshinexxx · 09/08/2020 23:30

@Zoey92 got mine registered couple weeks ago when she was 4 weeks it's was face to face it definitely depends on where you are based
Fighting daytime naps over here too, I put her in the sling and just crack on with what I need to do don't know how she sleeps through it but she drops off and goes into really deep sleeps whilst I wash up/ cook/ hoover etc

Busylizzie85 · 10/08/2020 13:11

I was definitely more upset then LO today getting her jabs!
@Zoey92 I can't get an appointment till October to get her registered for birth she'll be about 4 months by then!!

BabyBird20 · 10/08/2020 13:39

I can't believe how fast time is going!! My little one is 2 months today!! If anyone is losing the plot with naps like I am, I have started using huckleberry and from 2 months they give suggested nap times. It may be a fluke but so far today it's got all 3 naps bang on and he's slept between 30 mins and an hour for each!! Hopefully it'll continue!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻😴😴

Busylizzie85 · 10/08/2020 14:22

I have started using the huckleberry app @BabyBird20 it's been really useful and it has made naps easier! I like the summary section which gives me the average time slept at night and between feeds makes planning days better.

Busylizzie85 · 10/08/2020 14:24

He also has so much hair @BabyBird20 😍

LillianFullStop · 10/08/2020 16:31

@Zoey92 registrations have only just opened up for June births and we have our appointment for end of Aug. DS will be 12 weeks by then!

I'll check that app out @BabyBird20 thanks - DS roughly falling into 3-4 naps a day and going down for bedtime at about 9PM

Hope everyone is coping with the heat the last couple of days!

OP posts:
BabyBird20 · 10/08/2020 19:00

@Busylizzie85 mine shows that Benji is not sleeping anywhere near enough? Average of 12 hours jn 24! Eek! He only sleeps for 30 mins per nap and generally does a 3 hour followed by 2, then a couple of 1 hour slots over night which isn't ideal.

@LillianFullStop we have such a varied bedtime here still, I need to start getting a bit of routine for him I think!

Magpie21 · 10/08/2020 20:59

@zoey92 London based and have registration booked for 11th week. In person appointment. But I know a friend in a different city who hasn't heard anything about her registration (baby born in early June) so I think it varies a lot across the country.

@babybird20 Your little one is precious! He looks very happy!

I'm at the start of week 6 now. I've had first smiles and witching hours (fighting sleep) in the past few days. LO has been very spitting up a bit more than usual but I'm putting it down to the weather...hoping it's not the start of a reflux issue.

May I ask if anyone has had their first period yet and when they did? I'm very bloated today and wondering if my first period may be looming. Not sure it 6 weeks is a bit soon.
