@AndddddHerewegoagain sorry you are struggling too that doesn't sound fun re parents do you defo want to go? I've cried numerous times today finally got her to sleep at 3.15 and had my bereavement counselling at half 3- draining day!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 28/07/2020 22:25

Dont get me wrong my parents are great, they love their grandchildren so much they're just not very proactive! However my dad has booked tickets for a day out on steam trains and ds is so excited for grandad and steam trains i wouldnt take that away from him!
We've had a good week of bedtimes so today was just a blip. I've found if the first nap goes wrong its all downhill from there (which it did today)

mrssunshinexxx · 29/07/2020 00:16

@AndddddHerewegoagain afreee re first nap going tits up! I know once my wound is better and I'm physically back to normal that will help as if she's cranky I'll just put her in pram as that gets her off but it's too heavy fir me at the mo

BabyBird20 · 29/07/2020 03:48

Aarghhh my LO has decided he now wants to be awake for at least an hour and a half each time he wakes up over night. As I manage to get him back to sleep, I lay him down and his eyes ping open to stare at me and I have to start all over again!! I feel like we've regressed to those first newborn weeks in terms of lack of sleep! Any tips from you ladies about a quick and sleepy night time feed and/or how to transition a sleeping baby to crib without them deciding it's party time? I'm losing the plot!!! 😩😩😩

Pegase · 29/07/2020 05:48

@mrssunshinexxx sounds like we have had the same treatment for scar but I am a few days behind you. Hope GP goes well- am going to keep being extra careful given your experience- I'm six weeks now but clearly not healed!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 29/07/2020 06:16

@BabyBird20 what happens if you don't pick him up? My dd is like this sometimes and by just leaving her to wriggle for 5 mins and not engaging with her she realises its still time to sleep. I think sometimes picking her up and putting her back down is what is stimulating her, though I obviously don't leave her crying

Gigitree · 29/07/2020 06:44

Omg @BabyBird20 I could have written your post! My LO has started doing this too!
How old is your LO now? I think from what I read it’s part of the week 5 developmental leap

mrssunshinexxx · 29/07/2020 07:17

@Pegase I'm 5 weeks tomorrow
Why's it going so fast 😭😭
Are you on another course of antibiotics?
Really hope these ones don't upset baby tummy the other ones did and it made me feel awful

Pegase · 29/07/2020 07:24

@mrssunshinexxx third course of antibiotics and had the overgranulation too so was treated with silver nitrate by nurse and now have dressings to change every day.

Really want to start exercising etc but sadly body nowhere near ready.

@BabyBird20 we also 'ignore' and try not to make eye contact if it is a case of eyes open but no crying. Often she drifts off again during the night at least. Very different story in the day.

BabyBird20 · 29/07/2020 09:33

@AndddddHerewegoagain and @Pegase sadly if I leave him he starts crying at the moment! I've tried ignoring or just lYing next to him with my eyes closed and. Hand rubbing his tummy. We're still working on getting him to lay on his back as he Still gets so horribly uncomfortable woth it. The docs had fobbed me off enough now, I'm going to see them again and try and get gaviscon as he's just so unhappy after eating and on his back!!
@Gigitree I can't believe it but he's 7 weeks today!! 😱😱😱 We could be starting the second leap according to that wonder weeks app, I hope this doesn't continue all the way through, I'm hanging!!

@mrssunshinexxx and @Pegase i have just finished my third round of antibiotics at 7 weeks and my scar finally looks like it's healing. I've been able to start doing a bit more walking finally though still so paranoid when I do!!

Busylizzie85 · 29/07/2020 09:40

Aldi have a baby event online from now and in stores I think from tomorrow! They have some good bits by the looks of things, I have ordered a baby monitor.

BabyBird20 · 29/07/2020 09:53

Wow spot the post written after 3 hours of broken sleep altogether over night!! 😂😂 Excuse the typos!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 29/07/2020 10:46

@BabyBird20 sounds more colic than reflux if he's squirmy but not sick? 6-8 weeks is the peak of colic and dd was horrible with it last week but is fine this week so hoping we have peaked!!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 29/07/2020 11:31

Just to add the giant cellular blankets from aldi are great. My 3 year old ds still uses his all the time, during the heatwave he slept with it instead of a duvet

BabyBird20 · 29/07/2020 12:55

@AndddddHerewegoagain he is sick too and often coughs and gags before bringing up milk like he's choking which makes me think more reflux than colic but have struggled to get an appointment for him! Hopefully as he gets bigger it'll settle for him! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

mrssunshinexxx · 29/07/2020 19:17

@Pegase I had all that too really hope these work which ones have you both had @BabyBird20 ?

I LOVE walking so much I really can't wait for it to heal

I put her in the sling and literally walked round the corner today I was gagging for fresh air and she has been cranky all day it's a hard toss up between getting physically better and also looking after your mental health

AndddddHerewegoagain · 29/07/2020 19:32

Did you manage to get an appointment @BabyBird20? Hope little one is ok. Dd has her first cold compliments of ds so going to defrost some breastmilk i saved for her to have.

Pegase · 29/07/2020 21:10

I had fluxolacillin (sp?) and then coamoxiclav x 2 courses - still finishing that course.

Praying this is the week it all heals.

Re: physical activity, I have signed up for the
MUTU programme. Not started the exercises yet as not able to but thought I'd sign up ready. No idea if it will be any good but Mumsnetters seem to rave about it.

mrssunshinexxx · 30/07/2020 01:27

@Pegase I had 2 courses of fluxolacillin and then coamoxiclav started yesterday for a week really hope a weeks worth does it? Was yours very weepy and gunky?

Pegase · 30/07/2020 02:48

Yup weeping and bleeding but I do think it was aggravated by GPs saying to keep it uncovered and 'air' it. The position means you can't really air it so I think it was rubbing a lot.

mrssunshinexxx · 30/07/2020 07:18

@Pegase I've been keeping mine covered and airing twice a day after my morning shower and evening honestly can't wait to feel better I'm climbing the walls d

Mj2196 · 30/07/2020 13:32

Had our weigh& measure today ready for our 6 week go check on Tuesday. Jj is 7 weeks , on the 98th for his length& now weighs 12lb 2.I’m so glad as I’ve been so close to giving up bf this week .
We have our private tt separation appointment on Saturday . I was a bit shocked at the £240 but I’d pay anything not to have nipples this sore 🤣

The HV has confirmed he has an umbilical hernia , I didn’t even know this was a thing! She doesn’t think it will need surgery though

@AndddddHerewegoagain LO has woken up with his first cold today thanks to dd. Nothing better than 2 grumpy kids lol . He’s really mucus and snotty bless him, has it effected your dds appetite ?

AndddddHerewegoagain · 30/07/2020 14:16

@Mj2196 my son had an umbilical hernia and it went by itself

She has been drinking a little less, 4 ounces instead of 6 for about 48 hours but has picked back up this morning

Mj2196 · 30/07/2020 14:28

@AndddddHerewegoagain aw really did he have any problems how old was he When it went away?
Baby is so snotty 🤧been feeding little and often since yesterday . Was up allll night had about 40mins sleep. hopefully settle down tomorrow then

Gigitree · 30/07/2020 14:45

Do you guys wake your babies during the day if they go more that 4 hours surgery feeding? It’s rare but Grace does this sometimes she she’s at it again today, I tried to rouse her at the 4 hour mark but changing her nappy, but she’s still snoozing now. Should I wake her or just let her sleep if she needs it?
I’m so torn as to what to do for the best!
